About this property

Classic Maine: Gardens, Harbors, Farms, and Beaches

Spacious, architecturally-designed, Raeside-Dame home in Eliot, Maine, a scenic town on the Piscataqua River. While not on the water, we're 10-20 minutes to popular ocean beaches: Seapoint, Fort Foster, Newcastle; pretty harbors, historic Portsmouth; lush gardens; Kittery shopping; & the arts. We have a plethora of gourmet restaurants incl. a James Beard winner, amazing bakery, world-renown chocolatier, farmers markets you can walk to, & off the boat lobster. Activities are kayaking, biking, surfing, fishing, & boating. We have a 1.5 acres with screened porch, stone patio, and a webber grill. We try to be energy efficient and have installed a full array of solar panels and an electric car charging station. Please note the garage is not available. We have a wonderful tenant who lives part-time above the garage which when is away from his home and family for work. He has a separate entrance, separate drive, and does not use the yards in the front or the back yard, patio, grill, etc.. We hope you enjoy Maine and our home as much as we do.

Beautiful home in a quiet neighborhood!

My brothers-in-law and their spouses live in Kittery, and I booked this property to accommodate five family members for a mini-family reunion this past week. We absolutely loved staying at this property, which was perfect for our family gatherings, and everyone enjoyed both our family events and this lovely home. The house and property had a peaceful vibe, the kitchen was well-stocked with everything necessary to comfortably cook and serve meals, the beds were comfortable, and the neighborhood was quiet. Heidi (property owner) was extraordinarily responsive from the initial booking process through our stay, and check-out. The bonus - a detailed Guest Information Binder on the dining room table, was an invaluable source of information. We would gladly return for a future visit!

Why they chose this property

We are new to VRBO and have all glowing 5-star reviews on other sites and have earned a Superhost status.

Our classic Maine home, while not directly on the water, is a short drive to all the Southern Maine seacoast has to offer. It is a unique, architecturally-designed Raeside Dame colonial reproduction in a friendly, tranquil neighborhood with classic New England homes. It's a spacious 2100 sf+, stand-alone home with three to four bedrooms (our office has a new full sofa bed that converts it into a forth bedroom if needed), three baths, rich wide-pine floors throughout, exposed timber beams, large south-facing windows and modern conveniences including a fully-equipped gourmet kitchen, Vermont Castings wood stove, Hubardton Forge lighting, Nellie Olson Bella Bloom art table, and a romantic gas fireplace.

We have a lush 1.5 acre garden, gorgeous stone patio, and screened-in porch where you can watch hummingbirds, experience outdoor dining, cook on our Webber grill and eat al-fresco. We try to be energy efficient and have a Level 2 charge station for electric vehicles. Our home will be fully solar powered by spring 2023. We offer Body Spa and Eco toiletries and Myers cleaning products.
