Our property is located in the Whau Valley, situated between the Kamo township and Whangarei Central so there are plenty of options to eat and shop, though it is a one minute drive to the nearest dairy, bakery and very good takeaways
A 20 minute walk to the end of the road you will find your self at the picturesque Whau Valley Dam, which supplies our town, you can sit and take in the scenery or find the tracks around the waters edge and go for a wander.
An easy 7 minutes drive into Whangarei Central you'll arrive at the town basin, known for its cafes, loop walk and the new Hundertwasser museum. The many fantastic Tutukaka Coastal bays and the expansive Oceans Beach at Whangarei Heads are approximately 45 minutes away. The Whangarei Falls are well worth the 10 minute drive.
The cottage is situated at the back of our section but separated by a creek you will have privacy. There is an unheated pool for your use and feel free to feed your food scraps to our family of forever hungry eels.
Check in is 4pm and check out is mid day but please ask as I am always flexible if an alternative is available.

Amazing little hide away in Whangerei! It felt like we were in the country :) not in town, but close to anything we needed. Sarah was great, provided everything we needed .. highly recommend if you are looking for a relaxing "home away from home"
We wished we could have stayed longer as it was the most delightful cottage in a peaceful setting. Very well equipped with every comfort. Sarah is a great host!
The cottage was perfect for us, had everything we needed and was very comfy. Sarah was easy to communicate with and quick to offer ways to make our stay easy and pleasing. Highly recommend!
Great space for our 3 nights in Whangarei.
A peaceful & calming environment especially with the little creek.
A lovely, clean & private guest house.
We will definitely stay here again if we visit Whangarei in the future.
Quiet and peaceful environment. Great cottage. Private, clean and comfy. Beautiful garden and creek nearby. Sarah was helpful and easy to communicate with. Highly recommended.
We enjoyed staying in this cute cottage in a beautiful garden. It had everything we needed. Sarah and Steve were helpful and caring hosts. Sarah did our laundry! What a bonus and very thoughtful. They helped with local places to explore. Terrific place that you will love too.
We were very impressed by this idyllic cottage in a gorgeous garden setting. The cleanliness and furnishings were perfect. The extra touches of home made cookies, fresh eggs, bread & milk were a delightful surprise. So well appointed - exceeded our expectations. The hosts are super approachable and helpful.
A perfect place, close to town, yet looking out from the deck at the end of a stressful day you would never know this. Your view is of birds, trees, fields, and the lovely sound of the running streams. We are so thankful we picked this place to stay. Thank you.
We loved it!! It’s a little piece of country paradise; so quiet and peaceful with lots of greenery, yet town is not that far away. The cottage has a modern look, very nicely decorated and so clean and crisp with everything you need. Sarah was a great host. We liked the extra gestures; cookies and muffins, thank you. We would definitely come back and stay.
"Excellent Accommodation: Great Host, Clean, and Quiet"
Quiet and private cottage in a large garden out the back of the main home. We were greeted with a warm personal welcome, umbrella by the entrance (it was raining) and little extras like chocolate and muesli and muffins. Very very clean and tastefully decorated. Great deck overlooking the expansive garden and a bubbling brook. The communication was superb with clear instructions and friendly check-ins. Totally recommend.
We have been warmly welcomed. The nice garden house is well equipped with love and we even found bread, butter, eggs, chocolate and cookies for us available.
The garden is beautyful. A little wooden bridge (illuminated by night) over an idyllic little stream leads to the part of the garden, where the house with terrasse is located.
It is a beautyful place with very kind hosts in a part of NZ that has several highlights. - Highly recommendable!
We hebben genoten van de mooie tuin rondom de accomodatie. De accomodatie was netjes in een goede buurt.
