Great VRBO, plenty of room for six of us.
The Stone House has been nicely updated with the right features to make six of us very happy. A great base to raft the Lower Gauley from! Plenty of bedding, nice kitchen, dining room was perfect for us to reflect back on our daily adventures. Host was friendly and were true to their word. We will be back!

Worked well for us
The house worked for us; 2 couples and an infant and close to the hiking we wanted to check out. No major issues - the hot tub has been well used and wasn’t too inviting, but it could also have been that it was 100 degrees outside! Thanks Jen! Our stay was good.

Charming old stay
This house was very charming and we had plenty of towels. Beds comfortable but shower areas were not clean. The upstairs was also dusty. In a great location and a wonderful stay the house just needed a little TLC. Tank you for letting us stay with you.

Would definitely come back. Good communication with host(s). Jennifer even stopped by to check in on us the evening of our arrival. Very clean and everything you need is available / well organized. Currently 25 horses to watch in the adjacent fields. Highly recommend this property.

Annual Girls Trip
The house was very spacious, clean, and great location. The owner was very kind and informative. The wrap around porch was nice to sit on and take in the peacefulness. Within 15 minutes of multiple rafting places, stores, and restaurants. As well as hiking trails. Hot tub was very relaxing. We had 7 of us girls and had plenty of bed space. We would definitely stay here again next time we come to whitewater rafting.

Hello! My name is Jen and I manage the rentals at #37 Gatewood for Gabrielle DeBold, who is a Super Host on Airbnb. We recently chose to offer our locations on Vrbo as well. If I can't answer a questions immediately, I'll be happy to relay the message to Gabrielle and promise to get back to you as soon as possible.

Why they chose this property

The Stone House is a part of New River Gorge history, as it well over 100 years old.. It has been fully restored, yet maintains it historic charm. The Catawba trees in the yard are some of the oldest know trees of this variety in West Virginia, I am told.

What makes this property unique

The Stone House is conveniently located between Oak Hill and Fayetteville, WV and is on site with another #37 Gatewood property, Equestrian Adventures, You'll have the most majestic equine neighbors, totaling 25 in all currently. The ample lawn is a great space to have a picnic under the Catawba trees, have a bon fire, or sit on the porch, which spans almost three sides of the home.
