About this property

Cabin In The Woods

Relax at our peaceful cabin. Minutes from the world famous Kenai River and downtown Soldotna.

Our quaint cabin is a 1 bedroom with loft. This cabin is off grid, powered by solar. Generator included for rainy days.

Heat source is a wood stove. Wood provided.

Bring your own water. Sinks and toilet are connected to the septic system but water is required to operate toilet.

Large covered deck with blackstone grill is the perfect way to cook your dinner while watching the local moose wander the woods.

The cabin is a 1 bedroom - 1 bathroom plus spacious loft. 600SF total. We also have a 160SF covered front porch.

Other things to note:

This rustic cabin was built in 2022. It is close to town but feels like your really getting away. We see moose frequently.

The cabin does not have a water source. Water can be picked up in Soldotna. We do provide water jugs for transport.

The toilet flushes to the septic system, however you have to add water to the tank to flush.

We provide a generator for solar backup on those rainy days. We also provide gas and oil for the generator. We do not provide bedding/linens or towels.

Manageable With A Plan

This is an unusual property because it has no running water. More people staying more H2O All water must be brought in. Fifteen miles to water. So think about living without having water close by before you rent. Your length of stay is a major consideration. I stayed over twenty days so I needed a plan If your stay is shorter, a few days for fishing maybe, then you can bring all your water in at one time. The cabin is relatively new and very well built. It has a septic/flush toilet but again you fill the tank. The bbq is a Blackstone/griddle great if you want to fry fish, but not a good mix to grill a steak, unless of course you are of that persuasion. The little iron wood burning stove works well and there is lots of wood. It does not heat the back bedroom but does take the bite out of the room and it does heat the front room and loft nicely. The refrigerator/freezer works very well. The solar/battery system works very well. I did not turn on the lights it was May-June so I had plenty of daylight and there are lots of nice windows for light. My point is the refrigerator works 24/7 without having to get out the generator and charge the batteries because the solar can’t keep up. If you have all the lights on and the refrigerator running and plugins then you may drain the batteries. There are no written instructions on how to do this unless you have experience doing it or the host is there. A lengthy stay is manageable with planning. A short stay is easy with planning.

Quick Weekend Stay

A nice dry cabin, perfect for a quick stay on the peninsula. Host was great to show us how things worked and was available for any questions. Would definitely stay here again!
