Wild horses, donkeys, no bears — oh my! Escape with family and friends from the heat and bustle of Las Vegas for respite in a spacious log cabin on Mount Charleston less than 50 miles from the airport. Mountain views, wilderness hiking trails — Echo trailhead is just across the road. Squirrels and chipmunks abound. A birders' paradise. The night sky is amazing away from the light pollution of the valley. Relax, play or work remotely via the Internet. Entertainment area with large-screen TV and 5.1.3 sound — streaming services provided. Play board games, poker or bumper pool on the configurable table. Try the treadmill if you prefer to stay indoors. Entertain with a well-equipped kitchen, breakfast nook and dining room as well as a bar with beverage and wine refrigerators. Gather outside on the deck, in the great room around the fire pit or breakaway with a few others to the loft. Not off-grid but near the edge. No gas station or grocery on the mountain — plan accordingly. Again, Clark County requires a 30-night minimum stay.

About the host
Hosted by Tom McKannon
We hosted family and friends as well as hundreds of other guests for twenty-three years at our cottage on the Outer Banks, North Carolina. We fully retired in Virginia last year and traded the beach for the mountains to have a place near family in Las Vegas. We look forward to sharing hospitality to our family, friends and others here on Mount Charleston.
