Great long weekend stay

We enjoyed our stay at the Ranger House. The lake was beautiful and fishing was decent. It’s an 8 min walk to the lake so we drove down for fishing. We had fun learning about the property’s previous owner Harry Bennett and looking for the previous Boy Scout buildings. Steve was easy to communicate with. Definitely recommend this rental!

Beautiful hideaway

We had a wonderful family getaway. The house at the Lost Lake property was nice and had all the amenities you need for a family or group to stay. Plenty of beds for everyone! The fire ring out back and family games in the dining room were utilized and appreciated. There is no WIFi even though the description in the listing says there is. It wasn’t a problem for us because we were really trying to disconnect from our phones. The house is really far off the road (like 1.2 mi) in a wooded area, so there is plenty of privacy and quiet. It is a bit of a hike to get to the lake from the house, so we would drive over with our food packed for a day of fishing and kayaking. The dock was off limits due to being repaired and there wasn’t much of an area for swimming (unless you don’t care about swimming in the weeds). That was the only draw back to our stay. We happened to find a wonderful rail trail not far from the house in the little town of Lake. It was paved and easy for the whole family to go for a ride. The by little ice cream shop nearby was a great way to end a bike trip.

Ranger Cabin Review at Lost Lake

Cabin was wonderful, and Lost Lake was very beautiful and peaceful with good fishing. My only complaint is that the listing was misleading to me. I thought that the cabin was on the lake, not quite a ways away. On our first walk down the road towards the lake we came about fresh bear tracks, so we weren’t confident enjoying walks and drove to the lake, but were always on the lookout for a bear. It should be clear that the lake was nowhere in sight from the cabin. Also, mentioning that it’s a huge property and we were the only ones there. I wouldn’t have liked that if it was just me and my daughters.

Beautiful getaway!!

My family and I have been renting homes for vaca for quite sometime. This property where we stayed was 40+ acres. It was in the center of the woods. BEAUTIFUL!! Our phone service wasn't too bad being Verizon. Looking forward to staying here once again. Ps. Leave a note book so we can write a handwritten review before we leave the property. There's just something nice about reading everyone's reviews on their stay. Maybe have some board/card games for families to play. Maybe have a fire pit in the back to relax and enjoy. Just a few ideas. Thank you Steve!!

An excellent adventure!!

The property was beautiful!! Love the access to the lake and kayaks and the fun trails to explore. My only suggestion would be a light at the gate. Being a single mom with two teenage girls, it was a little scary being in the middle of nowhere in the woods unlocking the gate at night with no lights. Oh and more wash clothes. We only had one. Other than that we had an amazing stay. Even the teenagers loved it! We would definitely love to come back and have already suggested the property to multiple people.

Amazing big house in the wood with a giant private lake!

Absolutely loved my stay other then At&t service sucked out there. Enough for phone calls and text but nothing much else. Verizon has good service there. The location is so quiet and the peacefulness literally noone around heck main roads like a mile away through the property. Was supprised with how big house was and all the beds think 8 total. The one King bed was great! Plus a dish washer was a nice bonus! Now the Lake....man the lake is Absolutely beautiful, believe is 40 acres and literslly all to yourself. I was spending my eveings and weekends after work row boating out on it catching bass after bass. Caught 2 pike as well 15in and 28in. Even got a big crappie. Top water and weedless is a must unless out on the boat. Make sure to check out the history of the property henry ford, mob,ect there is a book in living room i saved the page to start reading. Host is very responsive to anything you need. Highly recommended coming and staying here!

What makes this property unique

The property and house was originally part of the Lost Lake Scout Reservation from 1964-2012. Prior to the Boy Scouts' ownership it belonged to Harry Bennett. Bennett was the head of Henry Ford's 'service department' and he built a cement log lodge on the lake. The lodge still remains, but is in disrepair as mother nature has taken it over.
