Tucked onto a secluded, tree-lined lot, you’ll find this quintessential Colorado cabin, boasting a private, serene setting and your own hot tub from which to enjoy it. Take in amazing views from nearby hiking trails. This getaway is situated 15 miles from downtown South Park in Fairplay, known as the trout fishing capital of Colorado, with more than 50 miles of Gold Medal trout streams. If you’re visiting in the winter, the ski slopes of Breckenridge are about 20-30 miles north, depending on the snow.

At home, spend time relaxing in front of the cozy woodstove while the family chef whips up mealtime masterpieces in the open, full kitchen. There’s plenty of room to dine together at the window-front table, with that same peaceful tree-lined view just outside. After a day of adventures, stay cozy with the upper and lower in-floor radiant heating. Unwind with a little TV or scroll social media with the free WiFi while the washer/dryer takes care of any laundry. End the night back outside on your screened deck or with one last soak in the hot tub and a toast to your good luck at booking such an idyllic mountain escape.

Enjoyed our stay with minor hiccups

There was a very limited kitchen stock, no spices or anything as listed in ad, no hairdryer, the screen door to the dog run was torn and an antler to the mount over the dining table was broken when we arrived but otherwise the property and home was very nice

October stay

The place was very clean and spacious for just 2 people and 2 dogs. The neighborhood was quiet, with only 1 other house close to this one. The weather was perfect to sleep with the sliding door and windows open, and hang out in the hot tub in the evenings. The dog run was a prefect sized for our 2 big dogs. I felt like they had plenty of room to run and play.

Beautiful views

Beatuiful property and views. Loved the dog run for the dogs and the patio was so nice to sit on! Hot tub was on the smaller side but still very nice to relax in. And added bonus we saw a momma moose and her twin babies pur last night there. Would have liked a tv in the master suite but not a huge deal. Was a wondeful trip and would stay again!!

Great with one major red flag

It is really difficult rating this place because we were quite happy until we wanted fresh towels. The highlights; very comfy bed, good location, great hot tub and handy dog run if you want to let your dog out in the morning without supervision. The negative; the soap dispenser in the washing machine was covered in a myriad of molds. It's frankly shocking to think that we used towels on our faces and slept on pillowcases washed in that machine. The entire area surrounding the tray was black. I had to disinfect it and rewash everything. The cleaning crew clearly saw it and decided it wasn't worth their time or not their problem. What else did they decide wasn't worth their time? Would have been 9/10 if we hadn't seen behind the curtain.

The last resort

Although this property has a good location, it is the worst Vacation Rental property we've ever stayed at! Extremely unwelcoming with numerous oddities and problems which made our 4-day stay less enjoyable than expected. We called Vacasa on our first full day, but they essentially said, "what you see is what you get." We stayed at another nearby property several years ago that we'd rate a 5 Star but can only give this one a generous 1 Star. Overall, the property seems neglected and appears to use many items the owners didn't want in their home. We'd recommend looking elsewhere, and only consider this one as your last resort.

Relaxing stay with the pooch

Came here for a 4-night relaxing low-key stay with our 15-year dog. Very spacious property with peaceful surroundings. There was a resident chickaree, a golden mantle ground squirrel, and a chipmunk who visited us daily. Abundant hummingbirds around the feeders. We appreciated the dog run in the backyard that allowed our old dog to explore without supervision. The kitchen pantry was well stocked for cooking full meals, and Prather's was just a few minutes away for groceries. The property was clean, sunny and comfortable. A few things may require some update, such as the screen doors and one of the decks, but overall a wonderful property for a relaxing stay.

Beautiful but lacking

No gas for the grill, the hot tub was not fired up/on, and unable to adjust thermostat in the main room. Property manager made commitments to have someone from their "local" team come to replace the gas and assist with the thermostat, that never occurred. We didn't check the hot tub until the last day and by then we didn't want to bother with reaching out to property management since it takes a day or so to get them up to temperature. Disappointing. Dog run is amazing though.

Nice house, but property concerns

The house was very nice and big and clean, however our car, which had 4-wheel drive and traction support, got stuck in the driveway when we pulled in...there was a sheet of ice, covered by snow, and I'm guessing it has never been plowed. I called Vacasa to ask for assistance and the woman said it should have been plowed prior to our arrival, but there was nothing to be done now that we had arrived. So no help I spent almost three hours shoveling and breaking ice in the drive to get the car free and into the garage. We took an Uber into town and bought snow melt so we didn't have that issue when leaving. I had my 82 year old mother with me, so I didn't want to chance it. The house was nice and comfortable, but the property includes the driveway, and it should be taken care of for guests.

Great for dogs

My husband, myself, and our dogs stayed here for a few nights and this was near perfect for what we were looking for! The dog run was much bigger than expected so it was great for our two big dogs to run around in. The fence was extremely sturdy and didn’t have any spots for our escape artist husky to get out. If you bring a second dog, you need to go onto the Vacasa reservation and add a second dog for an additional fee. That wasn’t made clear on the rental. I had left a note when making the reservation and only found that the day before we left when I was looking at the Vacasa page. We were really looking forward to the hot tub, but unfortunately it was very broken. The hot tub and the dog run were the biggest reasons we chose this place since those were our only plans, so we were really bummed. In reaching out to Vacasa, we are supposed to be getting a bit of a refund for it and they at least offered a hot tub that was about 30 minutes away The listing wasn’t clear that there isn’t air conditioning, only heating. Being there the first week of august, the daytime was really hot. We opened windows to cool it down, but most windows don’t have screens so lots of bugs got in There are no privacy curtains. The house is mostly isolated, but it would have been nice There are a lot of extra fees added onto the booking that felt unnecessary. If we were guaranteed the hot tub would work, we would definitely come back again. It was a great get away into the woods.
