About this property

Stay in the Rockies 1.3 miles to I-70 .5 Miles to Hotsprings 25 mins to Redrocks

Enjoying privacy and wildlife (property is surrounded by national forest) in the Rocky Mountains while being only 25 minutes from Red Rocks Amphitheater and Golden, Colorado. Breckenridge, a popular mountain town, is an hour away while travelling west on I-70.

Beds are equipped with brand name quality mattresses, duvet covers, and quality sheets. We pride ourselves in providing luxurious sleeping conditions for our guests. Quality sleep is a priority and necessity to ensure an enjoyable vacation.

Wi-Fi is provided and very reliable at 300mgps. Provided streaming apps include netflix, amazon prime, and hbo on all televisions. There is a washer and dryer available to guests in the basement.

The front door leads into the kitchen / living room. This large room contains a wood burning stove, baseboard heater, heatstorm 1500 btu heater, Bluetooth POLK sound bar with a subwoofer, and a smart tv on an adjustable mount.

The kitchen provides a 5-gallon water dispenser, a reverse osmosis system for drinking water, and a large 6’ x 4’ concrete kitchen island. Fully stocked with a wide array of appliances, kitchen essentials, spices, etc.
This space is perfect for entertaining.

From the front deck, wildlife can be seen across the valley, early in the morning and in the evening. The hummingbirds are very active from May - August. Occasionally, deer, fox, owls, and bear have been seen on this property. Most months of the year, the babbling creek of soda creek road is heard from the deck.

There are two entrances to the cabin off the 400 square foot deck. The deck wraps around the Cabin from the front door, to the side yard. Off the back deck is a large grassy area, a propane grill, and a barrel sauna.

The master bedroom has a walk in closet and private bath with a king bed. Room/bath amenities include dyson hair dryer, curling iron, ironing board w/ iron, and a full size mirror.

The second bedroom has a queen bed, full size miror, and Roku tv.

The third bedroom has a queen bed, closet, and a Roku television.

Each bedroom / bathroom provides radiant heating controlled by a wall thermostat. Space heaters and standing fans can be found in closets.

The couch, in the kitchen, slides out into a queen-sized bed. There are additional sheets in the linen closet upstairs or in the chase of the couch.

Ask about the old mine that was left behind by the pioneers during the Gold Rush. This can be accessed through the forest at the edge of the property.

The driveway is steep in the beginning but is gradual after that section. There is a large lot at the bottom of the driveway, adjacent with the road. This lot can fit about 3 cars if you are unable to ascend driveway (this only happens in Winter months). Luckily, Idaho Springs does not see as much snow precipitation as nearby mountain towns like breckenridge. AWD or 4WD is a necessity during Winter months.

This location offers a .8-mile drive to Miner Street, in Idaho springs. I-70 is 5 minutes away but cannot be heard from this mountain cabin.

Bask in privacy rarely found without being deep in the Rockies, while being close to many of Colorado's great attractions.

Beautiful location. Manager nice to let us get in earlier then expected. Septic tank smell was bad on 1st day, improved as days went on. Sauna did not work.

Had a great stay in early December. Just outside of Idaho springs, but definitely close enough to get to the store and on the interstate for traveling. Decently would stay again.

Amazing vacation all the way around

We loved this cabin. The view is absolutely amazing, and the cabin is beautiful. There was a snow storm while we were there, and Kody made sure the driveway was plowed for us, and was so fast to respond to messages. We for sure will stay again because we loved the area.

Great location and privacy

Cabin is nestled on a hill just outside Idaho springs making it convenient to explore the local attractions but also private and secluded without seeing any close neighbors. Large kitchen was really nice. The beds were very comfortable.

Idaho Springs

Overall nice place. Great location with very nice view, easy access everywhere, nice kitchen, easy in & out. Not thoroughly maintained: thermostats nor baseboard heat worked however space heaters were adequate. Upon arrival noticed shower handle broken off which made using the shower a bit cumbersome. It was suggested to use the water dispenser for drinking & cooking however it was very low when we arrived and the replacement tanks were all empty. Communication rated lower due to the fact I didn't get any response Friday morning when I notified Kody that we had no running water in the house. Luckily it came on within the hour. It would have been nice to know what was going on. Thank goodness we didn't have to leave early...that would have been a huge problem. Also, the check out guidelines were inconsistent - notebook in kitchen said one thing, initial checkout said something different, and final checkout notice said something else i.e. laundry, dishes. All in all we could stay here again.

Great View

We wanted to stay somewhere where we could get to Rocky Mountain National Park and Garden of the Gods. Idaho Springs is in the middle of these so it was perfect for us. Idaho Springs has some nice restaurants. The property has a great view and we spent time on the deck. Saw mule deer and elk on mountains. Also hike St Marys Glacier which is close to property.

Idaho Springs Condo

The place was "ok" but so many things could be easily improved upon to make the condo much better. For example, the condo was not very clean; the front windows were extremely dirty and there were no clean towels available in the bathrooms. There was an unwrapped Kotex pad in the master bathroom drawer. There was trash laying around in the yard when we arrived. We were not notified that the dishwasher needed replacing and that one of the upstairs bathroom showers had a leak - both required plumbing assistance yet we were not notified of this at all! The repair effort was going on during the time we were supposed to check in. Had we known then we could have delayed our arrival by a few hours. The dishwasher was replaced but not hooked up until the day we checked out. Also, the sauna never did work. Other concerns: the toilet paper holder fell off the wall in the master bathroom the very 1st day. The wall outlets did not work in both of the upstairs bathrooms and the clothes racks in the master bedroom closet were not reachable because they were so high up on the closet walls. The shower curtain in the master bathroom was not long enough to keep shower water escaping the shower unit, which resulted in a pool of water on the bathroom floor; very hazardous when not expected!I'll add that the location was beautiful but I am not sure I will return based on this experience.

Loved our short stay in Idaho Springs

Perfect location to enjoy Idaho Springs and surrounding area. Communicating with Kody was great and no issues during our stay. The driveway, though steep, didn't pose any problem to our vehicles (sedans included). Since it was summer time, a few of the rooms get a bit toasty late in the day, but cool off quickly once the sun sets. Fully equipped kitchen was nice as was the deck. A great place to relax with friends/family, and minutes away from downtown Idaho Springs.

Private Getaway with Stunning Views

My brother, a friend, and I stayed here for a winter vacation. It was perfectly located between Denver airport and winter park where we had rented snowmobiles one day. The town of Idaho Springs has so much to offer with cute shops and restaurants. We even checked out the Indian hot springs one evening which was unique. The house is very conveniently located but still provides you the privacy and stunning views of a mountain escape. We struggled with the door code upon arrival, but thankfully the cleaning crew was just wrapping up and was very kind and helpful. Take note that there is no central heating. The bedrooms were easily kept warm but the living room/kitchen area was quite chilly as we don’t feel comfortable leaving space heaters on unattended. The beds and furniture were all very comfortable. The host, Kody, was very responsive and kind from the moment of inquiry. I would definitely stay here again.

Girl trip

Property was clean. We loved the fact we didn’t have neighbors too close. We were hardly ever at the house, only to sleep and we did spend a couple of hours there one afternoon. Had a little trouble with the door lock but once we figured it out it was fine. Simple fix but there needs to be a better drain stopper in the master bathtub

Great views!

Great cabin to spend a few or alot of days on vacation. We liked the view on the mornings. No neighbors close by was a plus for us. The host responded very quickly when we had an issue putting the code in. I will choose this place again if available when we visit Colorado again. The Idaho Springs towns it's super close by, it has very good local food places. Hint* You got to try Big B's Soup and Grilled Cheese!!

Short, but sweet stay

We were in Idaho Springs for a destination wedding. We enjoyed the beautiful scenery of the mountains. This place was located in the perfect place for us, a 4 min drive to town, and peacefully located in the mountains. Our children, 24, 22, 21, and 19 enjoyed hiking up the mountain, literally at the back door. The place is stocked with all that is needed for a home away from home!!

Hosting has came naturally to me as I love to entertain and provide experiences for friends and family. I come from an American-Italian background. My grandparents were entertainers and prided themselves on bring people together with food, fun, and adventure. Being able to provide a comfortable, home away from home, vacation experience for guests has given me a great sense of joy and accomplishment. Every year I aim to improve my property and provide a better experience for guests than the year before. Through hosting and providing the best vacation experience for my guests, I have found my true passion. After all, Rome wasn’t built in a day!

Why they chose this property

Serenity is felt at this property. Perched on the side of a mountain this cabin offers an extremely unique view of the soda creek road cabin. Its hard to find a home that feels so exceptionally secluded but is so close to conveniences like Safeway and I-80. This was originally my home. My goal was to live in the rockies but be close to Denver. Idaho springs is the first town in the rockies while travelling up I-80 from Denver. I thoroughly enjoyed the mining history of Idaho Springs and craved a small town environment. Idaho springs was perfect.

What makes this property unique

There is a wet / dry barrel sauna available to guests in the backyard. A flat backyard while having a view.
