About this property

Newer Log Home on Clarks Lake with Dock and Boats

Welcome to Van's Log Home on Clark Lake located on the quite side of Door County. You will be amazed at the peaceful setting and natural beauty that this area holds. The cottage is a natural log home that was built with comfort and relaxation as its main focus. It is made out of natural pines and is comfortable in both the summer and winter months. The cozy gas fireplace in the great room adds to the romantic flare of the home. It is suitable for a single family or multiple families to vacation together. It is located on a private road which is set on a wooded lot. The yard holds a nice area for playing games, grilling out, sitting on the patio, bird watching in the covered shelter or grilling smores at the firepit. The landscaping is very natural and provides a private area from the neighbors. The water front is located in the cove of Clark's lake which provides a wonderful place for fishing off of the dock. Clark Lake is a wonderful family sized lake. It provides great fishing opportunities and it has a beautiful public beach which is fairly shallow for small children to play. It is large enough to tube and water ski on, but small enough to canoe and sail small boats on. The surrounding area includes the Whitefish Dunes State Park, Cave Point County Park, and of course, beautiful Door County.

Sisters Trip
Lovely property, we relished the seclusion. We used the fireplace quite a bit and the firepit several times. We would absolutely choose Van's Log Cabin again!

Great place but lacking in a few ways
Loved the location and cabin overall. However we were disappointed that something as simple as toliet paper wasn't provided beyond the 1 starter roll. We would have come prepared with more had the listing said this. We were also very disappointed in the water condition. It had an extreme smell of sulfur; to the point where we had to buy gallons of water to drink. Finally, we were required to wash our own towels. It was inconvenient, but also leaves me wondering how well the previous tenants washed the towels since it wasn't done through a cleaning service.

Very nice
Very nice and cozy. Loved the quiet area . Nestled in a wooded area . Beautiful Fall foliage. Disappointed That the dishwasher did not work and It could use some cleaner and updated Pots and pans. We have stayed at many VRBO‘a and for this price we expected a full working kitchen. Overall loved this cabin!

Nice cabin but very noisy
Property is located on a decent size lake for fishing. Neighbors were pleasant. On holding tank but pumping service was very responsive. Did a quick vacuum in master bedroom but couldn’t reach dirt in corners. (Dixie cup, hair tie and some dust bunnies) nothing gross though. It was nice to have cleaning supplies and bleach left for us to clean the bathrooms with before using them and before we left. Don’t forget your flashlights the yard is dark at night. Tiki torches were nice by fire pit. Do rent a boat from sturgeon bay boat rentals. They deliver and were very kind. Btw down a Long gravel road with many pot holes. Be careful if bringing a nice car. Would rent again but would check first for other properties nearer the bay side of peninsula.

Great Time
We had a great time at Vans Log Home on Clark Lake. Pictures are true to the cabin. We enjoyed spending days on the lake and day trips to the dunes and other Door County attractions. Ok cell phone service, for those interested.

Very nice stay
We enjoyed our time at the log cabin at Clark Lake. My wife and I stayed as well as our son, his wife, and children 1, 2, & 4. Lots of fun for the kids as lots of room to play and explore. We had a nice fire at the fire pit. It’s very quiet and very beautiful by the water. Nice place to read and relax. The only drawback is there is no real swim area for the kids. At there ages however, there is a 10yrd x 20yrd are to wade around and they enjoyed that. We did take them to the Clark Lake beach which is fantastic. All in all a great stay and have reserved again for next year.

Family vacation
The property is beautiful and well laid out with the outdoor spaces. The cabin is quaint, love the loft and kitchen area, and is full of movies and games. Whiles the lack of internet and poor cell reception (both Sprint and Verizon) was pain at times, it was great to completely unplug. This is a great place for an adult-only get away. However, I would not recommend bring children and dogs. Due to the loft area set up, it can be a bit noisy throughout the cabin at naps and bed time. Additionally, the neighbors are positioned tight next to the property on both sides, which is not fully disclosed on the listing. We have a well trained and quiet dog; and both neighbors vocally expressed their distaste for the dog being on the property. If you bring a pet, I recommend keeping it inside.

Well maintained cabin retreat!
We loved the log home. There were deer in the yard! Plenty of room for everyone. All 9 of us were very comfortable with our own space to sleep. The weather didn’t cooperate but we had fun anyway. Thanks so much!

Slice of Heaven
We booked this beautiful home for our family during our stay in Door County as we celebrated on son's wedding at the the Light House in Peninsula State Park. The house is beautiful and very well maintained. The house which is located on Clark Lake and Whitefish Dunes State Park and Cave Point County park are just a very short drive away. Both are beautiful parks but unfortunate we did not have time to visit this time. It is on a beautiful wooded lot and located in a quiet neighborhood. The kitchen is well appointed with everything needed to prepare a family meal. It was great to have a dishwasher! The owners have two small boats that can be used by renters -- and a fire-pit perfect for making smores!. There is a swing along the shore- perfect for watching the grand kids play and fish in the water. The owners have definitely made their house perfect in meeting everyone's idea of a vacation rental. We did have problems with the furnace-- but the gas fireplace did keep the house warm. As a home owner-- we know sometimes things just do not work correctly. So because there was a fireplace that warmed the house I gave a 5 star rating. Just an FYI: (We did NOT notify the booking company till Monday morning, the day of our departure - as we were out doing things during the day and really discovered the problem on Sunday-we had a fireplace that was able to warm the house- so we can not comment on how soon it would have been fixed after notification of a problem). The booking company was easy to use and professional in all dealings and correspondence. I would definitely recommend this beautiful property to anyone who is looking for a great vacation rental on a lake to make their own special memories.

Lovely cabin and location. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cabin and surroundings were clean and inviting, with many little niceties included. The neighborhood was quiet and the lake bigger than we expected. The best!!!!!
