Experience a getaway like no other at this nostalgic 60s A-frame home in the woods and mere steps from the waters of Hood Canal! This beachfront home away from home is all about getting away, unplugging, and spending quality time with your family and friends. The grassy backyard has a beautiful creek running through it sloping to the water's edge. You can also access the beach through a flight of stairs from the deck. Speaking of the deck, it is the perfect spot for warm-weather barbecues with an outdoor dining area, a gas grill, and even a lounge area with a gorgeous backdrop. Right next to the small creek is a firepit where you all can gather as the sun sets - bring s'mores and get ready for some storytelling!

Inside, find an open great room with windows from the floor to the soaring ceilings, showcasing the views of the water and the opposite shore. Evenings can be well-spent cozying up by the gas stove while you choose a DVD from the collection to watch on the TV or play the retro Atari console. When mealtime comes, prepare culinary masterpieces in the well-equipped kitchen featuring a full suite of stainless steel appliances, including a dishwasher for easy cleanup. A foosball table, a dart board, and children's toys offer hours of fun in the lower-level family room.

Lovely stay!

Great location with a gorgeous view! The house is lovely and very stylish. Everything was clean and nice, though this is an older house in a wet place and we did notice a little water in the basement but let the property managers know and I think a new threshold at the basement door would probably resolve that. Would absolutely stay again!

Wonderful Property for Weekend Getaway

Loved the access to the ocean and stream on property. Great outdoor fire pit, back porch with grill and furniture. Home is very spacious. No cable or wifi was more of a bonus than a hindrance. I will be looking for this spot next year for our families' annual summer vacation spot.

My opinion

We left a day early. Freezing and hungry. No response or any real concerns from you. Was our wedding anniversary. We want our money back. Thank you.

Amazing View

The house is very well located, has an amazing view, and has a good layout. There are a few rustic touches that make it better if you’re able bodied. The sliding door is very stiff. The back deck is nice, but some of the furniture has dry rot. I’d stay at the house again.

Lovely cabin. Some accessibility notes.

Cabin was lovely and comfortable! Would recommend parking at the top of the driveway, as my car got scraped up going over a large bump from a tree root. Would also note that walking down the driveway felt a little treacherous for one of our party who has mobility issues.

Lovely views steep entrance

The view was lovely and the house is much nicer on the inside than the outside. If you have any mobility concerns though this house is not for you. The hill really needs an awd/4x4 vehicle to clear the tree roots and the steepness of the hill. Which means that you are likely to park at top but then the steepness of the hill with concrete places to walk plus rain meant VERY slippery. Also stairs inside are so steep with no rail to the basement, so you may be limited to the main level if you have any mobility concerns. But the main level is lovely, 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, a nice remodeled kitchen and a large deck. The sea lions were our constant guests on the dock and shore outside which was fun to watch.

Nice, but needs attention

Cute home located on the Hood Canal, with ample space. Kitchen lacking a few key items, such as a functional coffee maker and oven mitts. Lots of dust and crumb debris on the floors. Management was quick to take care of us with regard to the coffee maker. Unfortunately, the small front yard area is completely covered with piles of dog waste, which made for a smelly and land-mine-riddled arrival every time we returned.

Horrible

Upon arrival this home was dirty and discusting. Not only I had to clean any dish or untensil before using it, but game room carpet was with spots all over, like there was a huge frat party before. Showers had other people hair. Any upholstery in the house was soild with who knows what, the bed linens smelled old and stale. The kitchen had wood counters were mold was starting to grow. on top of it this is only informational for future guests: there is no wifi or washer/dryer. The communication with owners thru vrbo/vacasa takes days or hours. We did move out after staying there one night and once I talked to management in Vacasa, they did refund other 2 nights as well as cleaning fee and we were able to find another nice home to spend the rest of 2 nights that we booke on our 2 week long vacation to west coast.

Not Quite Ready for Prime Time

The bones of the home are great and the location/view is incredible, but that's where it ends. This home is filthy, outdated and un-kept. We arrived to find an inoperative DW loaded to the gills with stinky dishes. After finally resetting the DW circuit breaker, we were able to get it going. The floors were filthy, and there was garbage and other items under the couch. The bathrooms were OK, but small. The beds were comfortable, but there were no pillow cases on several of the pillows. The game room was a disaster. They list a foos ball table, but there's no foos ball. The dart board was laying on the floor along with the darts. The kitchen was fairly well equipped with dishes and cooking stuff. The refer was filthy inside, and you could see where spilled goods were left to be "enjoyed" by the next guests. The range hood is weak and only one light works. The kitchen window and slider has no screens, which is especially bad for a place without AC. Countertops are BAD. There is a functional ceiling fan and a couple of other fans in the home. The slider leading to the deck is likely original equipment, but it takes good effort to open/close the door. The deck out back is great, with a nice outdoor couch, but beware of the rickety table and chairs. The gas BBQ is rusty and gross, and the igniter doesn't work. Parking is a bummer, the driveway is steep and you'd need a small car to park at the house. This place could be great but it would need much cleaning and refitting.
