Fun location

Our family had a great weekend getaway and enjoyed the house and the neighborhood. It was great to have two tandem parking spots which fit our minivan and SUV! Beds were comfortable, and the pullout sofa worked well for our teenager.

Convenient location to city of Pgh and surrounding communities.

For us, this property sure beat booking 2 separate hotel rooms for our family. The property had plenty of charm and it was nice to see Western Avenue revitalized with restaurants nearby. Wish we had more time in the city!

Location, location, location, it was great

Very accurate listing, great communication, close to so many great eateries. The business next door is so friendly and it’s a wine bar. Loved the character of the home, safe area and off street parking.

A s lice of Pittsburgh history

The location was perfect for our wedding events on the North Shore. Would stay again in a heartbeat. The house was a beautiful brownstone like place, old exposed brick, lovely old fireplaces, original wood floors. Nicely decorated and very comfortable. The host was awesome: respondive, helpful, and very kind.

Football Weekend in Pittsburgh

From the minute I booked the residence to the minute we departed, everything about the trip was amazing! The home was EXACTLY as described in the listing and in THE perfect location for our football weekend. The stadium was a five minute walk and the Strip District was just over a mile away. Caroline immediately reached out to me upon booking to make sure that I had all of the information I needed and kept in touch as the date grew closer. She IS a tremendous host and went out of her way to ensure my family had a memorable weekend!

Wonderful Stay

Very clean, great communication with the host, well stocked! The only negative is when we arrived it was 92 degrees and the A/C was not turned on so it took some time to cool down. Overall great location and the home is very spacious and comfortable. I recommend the downstairs winery, Wise County Cafe for breakfast, Nicky's thai restaurant for crab wontons and Peppi's has awesome sandwiches, all of these restaurants are right out the door.

Pittsburgh

Great spot to explore Pittsburgh. We went to see a Pirate’s game(walked) and an added plus was that we could catch the Cleveland team (going to all the baseball parks is in our bucket list) The neighborhood was full of places to walk to from coffee shops, restaurants and breweries. Our home base was perfect, it was bright, clean and had everything we needed. Communication from owner was timely and helpful. Great place to stay!

Pitt vs Clemson Get Away

We recently took a family trip to Pittsburg to watch Clemson play Pittsburgh as we had never been to this area to visit. This place was AWESOME!! It was extremely close to the stadium, convenient to downtown and easy to get to and fro in traffic. From the moment we checked in until we left Caroline was available and willing to help in anyway. She gave great directions and provided all that we needed for a great stay and by far has been the most hospitable host I have ever used on VRBO. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone going to a Pitt or Steelers game as it very easy to go to and from the stadium. The wine bar next door was an added bonus as they were extremely welcoming and my wife enjoyed the wine there during our visit. Definitely will stay here again should our adventures take us back to Pittsburgh.

Outstanding stay

I flew in from Seattle to Pittsburgh to take my father to a Steeler game. Once we arrived at the house we parked the car and never got back in it the rest of the weekend. The location could not be better! Not only for its proximity to the football stadium but also the neighborhood is completely walkable with multiple restaurants, coffee shops, wine bars to choose from. Caroline is the most gracious host! She was very, very thorough in her directions on how to park, how to enter the house and provided menus for the surrounding eateries. She was simply a joy to work with! This was by far one of, if not my best experience renting a home for the weekend. When I return to Pittsburgh I will not stay at any other place. That is how good my experience was!

Rowhouse Comfort

This trip was a special gift for my baseball-loving husband and our kids. Each year, we visit a new stadium, and this time, it was PNC Park. The weather was perfect, travel was smooth, and excitement filled the air as we explored Pittsburgh for the first time. The House: The photos don’t do it justice. The house spans 3.5 beautifully curated floors, feeling like an art historian’s home. It’s a mix of elegance, quirkiness and comfort, with every room more stunning than the last. The Bedrooms: Two official bedrooms, plus a cozy living room with the comfiest sleeper sofa I’ve ever experienced. All the beds were fantastic, and each room had its own unique charm. The top-floor bedroom even has a Mary Poppins-esque rooftop view and sparkly-painted floors. The Bathrooms: Like a luxury hotel but better. Walk-in showers, great water pressure, plush towels, and thoughtful touches like toiletries made it feel indulgent. The Living Space: Perfect for gathering. We loved starting our mornings with coffee before heading out and ended our days bringing back food to enjoy around the table and hanging out after our long days of exploring. The Neighborhood: Incredible location! There’s a wine-tasting room downstairs (which we visited twice!), and plenty of nearby breakfast spots, a famous sandwich shop, a Thai restaurant, parks, museums, and yes—it’s truly an 8-minute walk to the stadium. We felt instantly at home. Caroline's amazing hospitality made this a fabulous experience.

I'm from a small rural town about 90 minutes away from the city and I've called Pittsburgh my home for the past 22 years. Growing up in a small community makes me appreciate Pittsburgh's "big little" city vibe. Not only for the sporting events, but history and culture can be found around every corner—-from East Allegheny (Deutschtown) to the North Shore and The Strip District to Mt. Washington—there is something for everyone. I have been hosting since August 2022 and I have found creating an inviting, warm and relaxing space for our guests to enjoy is so rewarding. Comfy and cozy are my favorite adjectives. —-I'm just a little obsessed about it. My husband and I are parents to an 11 year old hockey player we adore and most weekends we are cheering him on at his games. Yoga is my therapy, I "attempt" playing the piano, and wine and conversation make me happy. We certainly want to travel someday to one of those beautiful places listed on airbnb vs cold hockey rinks—but for now its fun thinking about it.

Happy Traveling my friends—Cheers!

Why they chose this property

Your will love the original staircases, fireplaces, and charm of this Pittsburgh home on Western Avenue. Refucilio Winery is housed below and we can make a reservation for a private wine tasting at the bar.

What makes this property unique

The convenience of being eight minutes to Acrisure Stadium and walking distance to the action on North Shore makes this house a gem. You also can ride the Transit System (we call it the "T") to downtown for free. The Allegheny T is a 10 minute walk from the house. The house is steps away from convenience. On Western Avenue there are two breweries, an ice cream shop, winery, historic bar/restaurant, sandwich shop, Thai Restaurant, coffee shop and pizza shop; just walk out the front door.
