Sweet as Honey - Log Cabin

Real log cabin located 13 minutes to Summersville Lake or 8 Minutes to Gauley River. We are located 25 minutes to the New River Gorge Bridge. Sleeping arrangements include a queen in the master and a queen sleeper sofa so the cabin sleeps 4, complimentary K-cups sugar/creamer included. Large yard, Large covered front porch with patio dining set. The back porch has two rocking chairs to listen to nature. Tours of the area available just ask.

Great getaway

We came down for a long weekend to relax and get some hiking in. The cabin is located close to lots of places to hike and enjoy nature. We also enjoyed sitting on the porch and watching the chickens who visited from across the road. We would like to come back when we visit the area again.

Charming

The first thing you see when you enter through the door, which has a keypad, so much better than a key, is the bathroom with a washer and dryer. The shower is small, but if you’ve ever been to Europe, you’ll know how to navigate it. The rest of the unit is just as you see in the photos. The kitchen is well stocked. I appreciated the Keurig cups. Pots and pans are supplied, as well as some cooking utensils. Be ready for a daily visit from the chickens who live across the street. The rooster acts as an alarm clock but really didn’t bother me. We woke up one morning to no water. Never had that happen before. I was able to reach Tyler, who contacted the water company and it resolved pretty quickly. The location is good. You’re only 20 minutes from The New River Gorge National Park and Preserve. Beautiful spot to see the famous arch bridge. If you’re a kayaker or rafter you’ll be close enough to the Gauley Dam for lots of water adventure and hiking. If you’re looking for a quiet place with lots of outdoor activities close by, this is the place for you.

Process was smooth. Very clean place in a beautiful location within a hour to many great activities. Tyler was extremely responsive. Fresh eggs available for good price was added perk. Met all our expectations.

Disappointed

The cabin needs some maintenance and better lighting.Cleanliness was marginal. It was quiet and quaint particularly with the neighbors chickens coming up on the porch. If you like kayaking or canoeing on Summerville Lake don't do it on a weekend. I have never seen so many boats and trailers and trucks and cars in my life at any one lake. Very disappointing if you are looking for a place to get away from the maddening crowds.

Peaceful Cabin

We had a great time at the cabin! It is very convenient to Summersville Lake and a short and easy drive to New River Gorge. The cabin was clean, quiet, and peaceful with all needed amenities for our stay. Thank you for sharing your cabin with us!

Perfect little cabin

Our family loved our stay here, cabin was very clean and neat and perfect for our family of 3. We couldn't have asked for a better place to unwind after a day's activities. When we come back to the area we will definitely book again!

Great central location

This is a great place to stay. It is centralized so day trips from here work well. It is "secluded" in the sense that it is "out of the way". There are neighbors but it is a quiet and peaceful location. We truly enjoyed our time there. The only reason we did not give a 5 star review is that the property needs some finishing work and upgrades. But, not a big deal for most people. We WOULD recommend staying here.

Great cabin for a getaway

We picked this cabin for a 4 night getaway. We wanted something a little secluded. This location was perfect, you are far enough away from everything, but also it's not to far of a drive to get to stores or restaurants. The wild life was a plus too. The cabin was clean and comfortable. We found the washer/dryer very helpful, as we spent each day hiking and it was nice to be able to wash our clothing. Fast internet and good smart TV's.

32nd Wedding Anniversary

WE were celebrating our 32nd wedding anniversary. We had an amazing time. This little piece of Heaven was exactly what we were looking for. We actually hated leaving. The charm & tranquility of this special place was just what we needed to slow down from our busy life. Getaway before surgery

Cabin is very cute, the neighbors where having a sewer system or something put in so was kind of noisy during the day, but we were out a lot then. Had chickens visiting us, but that was okay. There was no toilet paper , but thankfully brought my own. Bed was comfortable. Nice porch to sit on!

Very pleased!

It was a very nice quiet spot that the whole family enjoyed. Very accommodating and was great being able to have our dog, Duke with us. Definitely planning on staying there in the future.

Cabin in the woods

Very charming property. Everyone was super friendly ended up meeting just about the entire street trying to turn around with our boat. The road in is a very tight one lane road with not alot of space to back into the driveway. A neighbor ended up making space for me to turn around and i was easily able to back in. Longbed truck with 20ft bassboat did not help situation. Property was beautiful and fit our needs perfectly, planning on coming back for the white water festival in October. Thanks again

Awesome

I booked this cabin for my wife and I for our anniversary / valentine weekend. We had an amazing time just the two of us. We got 8-10 inches of snow during our stay but we still made the best of it with the peace and quiet. I love the snow and the wife hates it. I thought it was absolutely beautiful out there. I even enjoyed hearing the chickens when I drank my coffee on the porch.

Are you looking for a remote cabin in the beautiful mountains of West Virginia? We have you covered with this sweeter than honey themed cabin. Enjoy sipping coffee on the private back deck while listening to the birds sing or enjoy the fire pit while making smore's during the chilly months of the year. The yard is very large for kids and dogs to run around and play.

Sleeping arrangements are a queen bed in the bedroom (also a TV in this bedroom) and a queen sleeper sofa in the living room.

The TV can stream Netflix, Hulu or any app on the Roku TV. The cabin also has board games for the family!

There is a full sized kitchen featuring a Keurig and most of your basic cooking needs. The space is very open with the living room. Off the kitchen door is a nice back porch with rocking chairs.

There is one bathroom with a shower, and washer and dryer (laundry detergent is not provided).

Along with the many beautiful scenic routes around the area ,The Gauley River and Summersville Lake are just a short drive away. Enjoy hiking, fishing, kayaking, or floating in a tube down the river. Or enjoy a fun day at the Lake !! Adventure is endless here!

Just wanting to relax ? Then this is the cabin for you! With 4 chairs on the front deck and 2 rocking chairs on the back deck! This cabin offers complete tranquility or a weekend full of fun !

Also WE ARE PET FRIENDLY and want you to bring your family with you! We have NO breed restrictions! We want you to fully enjoy your stay whether that be by yourself, with your pets, with your friends, or with your family! Add your pet when booking so pet fee is added! $50 pet fee

** We do not accept any date alterations for any reason. We also do not process refunds. We recommend all guests to purchase travel insurance incase you are unable to make your reserved dates. In the winter there is snow and a 4WD is recommended. We do not offer refunds for any reason including weather. Thank you

Firepit outdoors is available for you to use year round (if you would like it started for you that is available for $50 and bundles of wood are available for $10- please request this prior to booking)

The indoor fireplace is only operational from October - March.

The property is non smoking.
