About this property
Old Town Historical Charm
A 3/2 home in the historic district of Old Town Key West with soaring ceilings and a ton of character. Walk to Duval, but nestled in a quiet neighborhood next to St. Mary Star of the Sea. Each bedroom features a private balcony. We believe the house was built in the late 1800’s. It was moved in the 30’s when the land it sat on was taken for use by the Navy. The land it originally sat on is where the post office is now near the corner of Fleming and Whitehead. The home features original Miami Dade pine floors and walls with soaring ceilings.

About the host
Your host

We spent so much time vacationing in Key West, we finally decided to make it our home away from home. This home is perfect for our family of five. We have three kids between the ages of 10 and 18. The kids hop on their bikes and explore the island all day. We can usually find them at the beach at Fort Zachary Taylor, the Key West Butterfly and Nature Conservatory, or at the sunset celebration at Mallory Square. I believe this is one of the few places left in the world where kids can just go and be kids. My husband and I never have a dull moment either. It doesn't matter how many times we've been to Key West, we always learn new history about the island, find a new restaurant or bar, or stumble upon a cute home we've never seen before.
Why they chose this property
We looked at dozens of homes before choosing this one. It just feels special from the time you walk in the door. The ceilings are soaring and make the property feel so spacious and cozy. There is historic charm everywhere you look. Each bedroom is separate and private and each features their own private balcony. After a long day of exploring Key West, its nice to come home and soak in the hot tub. The location is perfect as well. The home is located within walking distance of Duval St, but in a very quiet neighborhood. The only thing we hear at night is the occasional rooster.
What makes this property unique
Our favorite way to get around is by bike. Eaton Bikes will deliver bikes to the home and pick them up. If you are riding the Key West Express, they are located two blocks from port. There is also a golf cart rental called Mistys about a block from the home. Key West also offers a free bus called the Duval Loop and a pickup location is located two blocks south of the home.
