Stayed here for 2 nights with my brother and elderly mother. The place is immaculate and spotlessly clean. Is so much more spacious compared to the photos. We arrived to find the log burner on and was toasty during our stay. Comfortingly beds and bedding.
We highly recommend staying at Hickeys Hangout! It was just what we were looking for. A smaller town to get the Ireland experience away from the cities. The location was good for our day trips and in the evening we were able to walk to the main street for food and a pub. The home was well stocked with all we needed. My family of 5 had more than enough room to spread out and relax. Finia is a wonderful host and was easy to communicate with. We hope to return again someday.
The hole experience was very good. The house looks like an old Irish house but when you go inside it has been totally modernized. Very well done. We enjoyed staying there. Very close to relatives.
Lovely house but It would have been nice to know there was a building site behind it.We put the heating on for 1 hour. 1 radiator was turned off so I turned it on. The next morning (after a night of heavy rain) there was a wet patch on the floor (not near the rad).We used towels to soak up the water and tried to work out where the leak was. My husband texted the host that morning to explain but got no reply. The carpet had not got any wetter when we returned that evening. We put more towels on and opened the window. In hindsight we should have contacted the host as she had not responded to our text. The next morning I fell ill and I needed to find a medical centre which took all day and we returned exhausted. The host rang just as we were eating and I explained all of the above. My husband’s first thought was a roof leak but there were no marks on the ceiling. We had also noticed a large crack in the concrete outside the house (ground, not walls) which was wet when everything else was dry. I suggested that may be a way for water to get in. The host asked if it was convenient to come round then, but I was unwell and my disabled daughter (who was occupying the room) was in bed. We were leaving at 10am the following morning. After reading the hosts review of our stay, I can only reply that we are not liars, we did not ‘interfere’ with the heating or ‘flood’ the room. We have not been informed if the leak was found. Disappointed. Not using Vrbo again after being loyal customer.
