About this property

Come enjoy the beautiful unobstructed views of North Topsail from the front deck, large living room window or secluded back deck. Small dock in the back with kayaks on site. Sooo much space in such a small footprint. Short walk to beach (400 yards) or drive and drop. Amenities include large washer/dryer, outside shower, Keurig machine, Internet, TV's, etc... A wonderful escape to watch the boats from afar as they navigate the intracoastal waterway. Watch the fiddler crabs wave at you under your feet as the birds dive into the surrounding bay. Kayak with the tides (no fee/kayaks provided). Local food and drinks within walking distance or a short drive. Just kick back, relax and enjoy.

Gorgeous Views

This cute little rental is directly on the marsh with gorgeous views from decks and large window in living area. The owner is quick to respond to any questions or concerns.

Great little place

Nice location. Linens, paper towels, toilet paper provided big plus. Kayaks were a big hit even kayaks for the little ones. Water is shallow so its a good place for beginners Beautiful views of inlet. Bring your binoculars to check out the birds. Good neighborhood.

Just a sleepover

I really only slept at the property and spent the day at another property where my son's family were staying. This property is private, in a pretty spot, a bit aged but clean. It is convenient to many Topsail destinations including the beach and the inland waterway. The bunk beds easily handle 2 children (if one can climb safely) and the bed 2 adults. More if someone slept in the living room. I accidently broke one of the many kayak paddles for the 3 boats there. There are plently of life jackets, beach toys and other things to keep you occupied.

So beautiful

We loved relaxing on the back porch and by the water! They had kayaks there for us to use which was very nice of them! It was amazing going out on the water such a beautiful view especially of the sunset. Our little one loved finding/seeing the crabs and baby sea bass. It was a great experience, and so worth it. Basically right across from the beach and not far from the shopping centers. Definitely will be coming back! Thankyou for an amazing birthday weekend for our babygirl!

Family vacation

We were stationed at Camp Lejuene quite a few years ago, but still have friends here and love this area and come back when we can. Being so close to the beach this time was a great bonus with the kids! We also loved being at the end of the road and having a beautiful view from the back deck! Our Louisiana hearts loved the calm views of the sound! We felt like we had the best of both worlds! The only suggestion we have is to have more water pressure for the shower, but that wouldn’t deter us from coming back!

The best vacay destination I’ve ever picked!!

The cutest little beach house! With the best views of the sunsets and just a short walk to the beach. This place had everything, there was so much to do in just a short distance. This place had empty beaches, friendly people, and so much wildlife! Nothing like waking up early to watch the sunrise from a kayak off the back porch then walking across the street to enjoy the day at the beach. The owners really thought of everything to make this the perfect destination, from the grill on the back porch, life jackets with the kayaks, and the fluffiest pillows. The fishing is great, the neighborhood, and the owners are awesome!! 10/10 recommend staying here. We will be coming back. 😊

Rainy Memorial Day Weekend

Adorable condo. Perfect for my daughter and I. Awesome views of Intercoastal Waterway. Weather predicted 100% rain Sat & Sun. Fortunately weather better than expected and we were able to take advantage of kayaks and sitting on swing and anorandak chairs enjoying views. Short drive to free beach parking. Clean and comfortable. Wifi worked great. Super host. Provided many recommendations for good food and activities. Would definitely book again!

"A Friend's Place" was built in 1984 and was a one owner residence until September of 2015, when my wife and I were fortunate enough to purchase it. It is our Happy Place. When co-workers would ask us what we had done for the weekend, we would say that we ran down to the beach. Of course they would ask where we stayed. With that question, the name of our retreat was born. "A Friend's Place" The property has survived all that the Atlantic has thrown at it over the years, without the first insurance claim. I slept through Matthew and Dorian, wish I had never left for Florence (better safe than sorry though) - The only damage was the back gutter had come loose. So, you and your family can sleep safe and sound knowing that you're truly at "A Friend's Place".

One of the most secluded homes on the island, with water access for kayaking. The best 180' views per dollar spent. Small footprint with maximum space. Short walk to the beach (400 yards) or drive the family and beach gear around to the access, drop it all off and drive the car back to the house. Walk the beach, look for shells, kayak, fish, read a book all while enjoying nature's beauty.
