Authentic cabin in wooded lot. Well stocked with everything you need for a comfortable stay.
Very comfortable stay at such a neat property
Comfy beds and plenty of towels.
Loved the antique pieces of furniture and wood burning fireplace.
Thank you for sharing your home We loved our stay.
Tripp's Cabin was such a delight and an amazing place to stay! It reminded me of being at Camp Greystone again which isn't too far from the Highlands. It was so easy to get to and super close to town!! Me and my fiance absolutely loved it and enjoyed getting out of town amidst wedding planning. It was so sweet of Carolina as well to have a branded bottle of wine waiting for us. Carolina also had recommendations for us in terms of where to go for food and drink. I would 10/10 recommend the cabin and look forward to coming back again soon!
We all enjoyed this. Feels exactly like a mountain getaway. The decor and cabin itself are very rustic but has everything you need/want. Beds were super comfy. Kids loved the cabin and the meadow out back. It was perfect for us. Would recommend and would book again.
The weekend stay was just what I needed. Peaceful, secluded, the sounds of nature, the babbling of a creek, and wildlife visitors. All this and only 10 minutes to the town of Highlands. We’ll be back!
We have been home three days and we are already thinking about when we can book another stay at Tripps Cabin. The cabin was just like it was pictured - rustic but will all the comforts you need and in a beautiful and private forest setting. And very close to the downtown shops and restaurants. The owner was very responsive and provided some great info and recommendations for things to do and places to eat.
Tripp's cabin was a lovely, authentic log cabin in the beautiful town of Highlands. The location is fabulous and we loved the privacy of the cabin. We even walked to town one day and enjoyed being very close to town. Carolina was very helpful and fast to respond to our questions.
We love Highlands, and Tripp’s Cabin was great! It is a really cool log cabin close to town but very secluded. The bathroom had shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and plenty of nice towels. The kitchen was well-stocked with dishes and utensils and even Trader Joe’s spices and Keurig coffee pods. The house is beautifully decorated and so cozy. We loved sitting on the porches listening to the birds and watching the fireflies! Highly recommend!
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving stay at this charming cabin! Our family of four felt right at home thanks to the incredibly comfortable beds and the cozy, rustic vibe of the house. The fireplace was a highlight for us, adding to the warm and welcoming atmosphere.
The location couldn’t have been better—just a short drive to Highlands, making it so convenient to explore the area. We cooked our Thanksgiving meals here, and the kitchen worked out well. That said, if you're planning to do more extensive cooking, we’d recommend bringing your own spices and knives to make things a bit easier.
A couple of things to note: the house is quite open, so sounds carry easily between rooms. This wasn’t an issue for us but could be something to keep in mind depending on your group. Also, it was quite chilly when we arrived, but the in-room heaters warmed things up nicely after a few minutes. Just be prepared for a little extra bundling up during fall or winter stays, as there’s no central heating/AC.
Overall, we had such a great time and truly enjoyed our stay. We’d happily return and recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a cozy getaway near Highlands!
If you are looking for a hidden away cabin that is still only minutes from downtown, this is it! Enchanting is the only way to describe Tripps.
(Be aware there is no AC in the upstairs bedrooms. Opening the windows was fine for us but if AC is a must, skip this spot.)
Did not like the heating system…had old wall heaters…hard to regulate…but did do the job. Shower had a bad leak…bathroom lighting not good.

BUYER BEWARE!!!!
This property is very attractive online but the actual cabin is terrible! First of all, our rate quoted does not include all the "junk fees". We could and will stay in first class hotels if we ever go back to Highlands. More importantly, the cabin was very uncomfortable. Someone in charge should actually spend a little time there to see what I mean. We had to leave after one night because the house was so mold ridden, my wife experienced a headache, a stomach ache, runny eyes and runny nose and all these symptoms vanished once we left the cabin and got in the car!!! We complained to the host and she was very responsive and re-did our stay to one night instead of two but VRBO refused to adjust bill accordingly. will NEVER use VRBO again!!!! I encourage all you you to do likewise! Finally, I found the cabin very unsuitable for senior citizens as the walkway from parking to the house was unstable and dangerous and the inside floors were uneven. Old people could easily trip and fall at this place.
