Quiet Shell River Cabin with Sauna
Our Cozy little cabin is the perfect getaway for all seasons. The sauna is an extra treat. The property is close to the tiny town of Osage and the Smokey Hills State Forest. The Shell River runs through the property providing the perfect relaxing background at the campfire. The large oaks provide beautiful green shade in the summer, an array of orange & yellow in the fall and a beautiful place for the frost and snow to settle in the winter.

The cabin and property was just what we needed!! So Quiet and peaceful we sat outside and just enjoyed the view! The cabin is everything a person needs very clean and well maintained! We definitely want to go back again! Thank you for letting us enjoy you little cabin!
This place is 100% the perfect peaceful retreat. Close to many beautiful attractions if adventure is what you seek. Quiet and secluded if hunkering down to get away from the daily grind is what you seek. The cabin has everything you need. The property grounds are well maintained and even the neighbors were quiet. The sauna is the icing on the cake! We will certainly be back!
We had such a relaxing cozy stay at this little cabin oasis! My husband and I retreated here after a crazy wedding weekend and we had everything we needed for a private and calm honeymoon. This location is a nice distance from city/town life but also close enough to venture out and explore some cool sites and excursiones. Would recommend to anyone looking for a go with your own flow nature retreat
We thoroughly enjoyed the quiet and very clean river cabin. The cabin had everything we needed for a long weekend stay. Also, best fry pan we've ever used at a VRBO!
The cabin was very well suplied with more then we needed, good movie collection, even the pan set and grill was good quality, (I like to cook), everything was clean and well kept inside and out, diffinately will be back in the future
We loved our stay. We had such a wonderful time! Its a beautiful property and Deana was amazing. We watched movies, had fires, cooked meals, watched movies, went hiking, went in the sauna, swam in the river, etc. It was amazing.
We will definitely be going back.
As advertised, the cabin is quiet, with lots of trees around.
It is well-appointed and has everything needed for our stay, with the interior being nicely designed.
As a bonus, there is a sauna, and although it was warm out during our stay, it was nice to use at the end of the day.
Very peaceful stay among the trees and near the river. We loved sitting on the little dock (it being there was a nice surprise), and watching the river flow. Our dog liked jumping into the water which was clean and clear and only about a foot deep in our section. You can’t see the water from inside the cabin but the natural light through the old-growth oak trees more than makes up for it, it is stunning. The cabin itself was very comfortable, well-decorated, and thoughtfully stocked with necessities.
We stayed here in early June. It was so peaceful! Enjoyed every minute!

Hello, I am a Park Rapids resident. I lived near Park Rapids as a child and moved back to the area to raise my family. the house just South of the River Cabin is where my husband, Kelly and I raised our children until 2004. I owned and operated Dogs Paw near Park Rapids for 14 years. This cabin has a fun history, and we love sharing the property with guests so that you can experience the relaxing environment.
Why they chose this property
I love this place for the large oak trees and the peaceful river. The location is close to the Smokey Hills State Forest, Straight Lake, Park Rapids and about a 25–30-minute drive to Itasca State Park.
