Welcome to our Desert Oasis! The house itself is open, bright, comfortable and oh so inviting. Newly painted interior. Feel free to use the instruments and yoga/stretching items. Plenty of room to park your toys on the property. The gas BBQ grills meat and veggies to perfection. The view is nothing short of spectacular.
Sit on the expansive front porch. Take in the view of Goose Lake and surrounding mountains - at any time of day - but ESPECIALLY at sunset. Instantly feel rejuvenated, joyous, relaxed, and free. It’s also a great place to let loose and entertain.
Things to do nearby:
* Walk in front of the property in any direction. Although the land is part of Fort Mohave Indian Reservation and Havasu National Wildlife Refuge, we are allowed to enjoy the area.
* Hike to the water’s edge of Goose Lake: turn right out of the driveway. At the bottom of the hill, turn left and walk until you get to the opening in the fence. Continue to the lake. Very peaceful. The water is shallow, so don’t plan to take a swim. More of a wade. Goose Lake is part of the Havasu National Wildlife Refuge. Many species of birds live in the refuge, and some come close to the house to visit. Speaking of visitors, Topock does have a few wild creatures you should plan to avoid: burros (donkeys), coyotes, and scorpions. All are nocturnal, so you rarely see them.
* Oatman is an old mining town 37 minutes from Topock. Beautiful drive along the Black Mountains. There you will find restaurants, saloons, gift shops, burros, and even a gun fight show.
* Take a drive along historic Route 66!
