House in the Pines

Not the cleanest… but good location.

Unfortunately, we were disappointed with our stay. Upon checking in, the cleaning crew were still there cleaning an hour after check in time. The living room smelled like there had been smoking inside. Additionally, there were cobwebs that covered the inside and outside of the home. The only positive was the property manager was lovely and very responsive. All in all, we did not feel comfortable during our stay, the lack of AC also didn’t help ( we ended up checking out a day earlier).

Play place for toddlers- wonderful space - property manager not responding to inquiries

We checked in at 4pm on July 5th- the place had not been cleaned between checkout of last visitor. We called the property manager and she said she would send someone out and refund our clean fee. We waited outside until housekeepers came and cleaned the property, approximately an hour or so. During our stay I communicated the pillow cases in the en-suite were worn and pilled. The curtain rod in hall bath was falling. In my email I shared I was communicating privately so it would not impact ratings. I never received a response. I have not received the cleaning refund offered even with a follow up email. Inquiry about use of swimming pool was also ignored. The home is large and furnished in a fresh and relaxing way. The large family area was great for television watching and play time. The play equipment was a hit. We enjoyed the well furnished kitchen. I would encourage families to consider staying here, it was fun.

Nice house, missing a lot of necessary components

The house itself was beautiful. Same with the forrest and nature around the home. Also the 2 living rooms are awesome. There were a few things that made our stay less enjoyable that it should have been for the money spent: For one when we showed up the trash cans were filled to the top. We had to pile our trash up in the garage for days before the trash pickup came, also the cleaners left bags of gloves in the trash can that birds tore apart and put all in the streets. Another issue is that this house has no A/C. It got up to 90 degrees at times in that home even with all the fans on and it was very uncomfortable! Also, 3 of the fire alarms were low on battery and kept us up all night separate nights beeping, 2 of them were not reachable. The owners team (who were very nice) came by to replace the battery and that fixed that one but then the next night the other unreachable one started beeping and we had to stack chairs to reach it and take it down. If there was a value for money rating I would give 0 because the price of compared to other rentals i’ve stayed in flagstaff is absurd. Not having bed side tables in the master bedroom also was not ideal, they had panels attached to the side of the beds but one was broken off and couldn’t hold anything.
