DOWNSTAIRS:
A Half-bath is located on the first floor with easy access from the dining room, kitchen, living room, and enclosed porch area.
The living room has comfortable seating, a Samsung Smart TV (with access to Hulu Disney Plus, Netflix, and Prime Video), a sound bar, and a built-in electric fireplace in the TV credenza.
The Kitchen is equipped with cookware and essentials for all your cooking needs. There is a dishwasher and a starter supply of dish soap, dishwasher soap, Touch-free hand soap for washing hands, and paper towels. A high chair and/or booster chair is provided (located in the Primary Bathroom closet area).
The pantry has some starter items for your use such as coffee pods for the Keurig coffee maker and coffee for the Mr. Coffee Maker. There is flour, sugar, spices (located in the kitchen cabinet above the coffee makers), popcorn, Reynolds Wrap, Plastic Wrap, trash bags, extra paper towels, napkins, paper plates, plastic cups, and more. Just seek and you shall find.
Kitchen Dining Area - seats six (6) and is a central point of the kitchen area for eating, playing games, watching TV and just gathering to talk.
Laundry Room - A washer and dryer is provided plus a starter supply of soap detergent and dryer sheets. A laundry tub is also provided to rinse bathing suits, and other items containing sand/dirt before placing them in the washer.
Outdoor Living: An enclosed three-season porch to have your morning coffee or to just relax and read a good book. There is a patio with a fire pit and seating. There are cushions to use to sit on the patio wall for additional seating and a BBQ Grill (propane) with utensils is provided for outdoor cooking. There is even a seating area and table w/umbrella for the little ones to have their own space to play games or to eat their meal. Also provided is dinnerware and plastic ware in a utility cart on the enclosed porch that is strictly for outdoor use so there is no chance of broken glass if an accident happens.
The First Floor Primary Bedroom has a Cal King bed with an ensuite bathroom. Also, a Roku TV is provided.
UPSTAIRS:
Bedroom 2 has two Queen Beds and a full bathroom and a Roku TV.
Bedroom 3 has a Full-size bed with a trundle bed underneath.
Bedroom 4 has two twin-size beds.
All of the bedrooms have ceiling fans.
If you are a work-from-home person, you will enjoy the quiet office area upstairs with a desk, chair, printer (black ink only), and a comfortable side chair for relaxing and/or reading. A small supply of copy paper is provided in the file cabinet underneath the printer. Just bring your laptop and hook up to the free Wifi and you will be ready to work in no time.
The loft area has a Queen size sleeper sofa with a really comfy blow-up mattress, books and games for adults and children, a 65" Samsung Smart TV ((with access to Hulu Disney Plus, Netflix, and Prime Video), a sound bar, a built-in electric fireplace in the TV credenza for cooler weather, and a standalone fan for the summer months.
Bathroom 3 - is located off the upstairs hallway and is conveniently located to the Loft area, Office area, and Bedrooms 3 and 4. There is a linen closet that holds all of the bathroom linens for the bedrooms upstairs. There are also toilet paper and bathing essentials provided such as shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, shower soap, makeup remover, body wash, and body lotion.
ALL Bedroom, Bathroom, and Kitchen linens are provided with the home.
HOW TO GET HERE:
A car is preferred to get around in this small rural area. There is one grocery store within walking distance in good weather. I have personally used Uber during my stays when rental cars were unavailable.
There is only one airport in Delaware. If you fly in, you have a choice of Wilmington, DE Airport, Philadelphia International, Baltimore/Washington International, Ronald Reagan Washington National, Dulles International Airport, and the closest airport at Salisbury Regional Airport which is in Maryland. I prefer to fly into Philadelphia and rent a car and drive to Cape May Court House, NJ and take a ferry which is about a 1.5-hour trip to Lewes, DE. Once there it is a short 45-minute drive to the house. This alleviates toll roads on the way from Philadelphia to Delaware and is less hectic and much more enjoyable. There is a fee for the vehicle and number of passengers using the ferry and reservations are preferred ahead of time.
ACCESSIBILITY: The home is two stories with needing to climb stairs to access the second floor. Please be aware of this if you have young children as there is no gate at the top or bottom of the stairs.
SUITABILITY: One step at the front door is required for access
SECURITY: Ring doorbell security camera (facing front entry), quiet hours (10:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
PARKING: Garage (1 vehicle) – NO LARGER THAN A MID-SIZE SUV OTHERWISE IT WILL NOT FIT IN THE GARAGE, Driveway (2 vehicles), overflow parking is available at end of the street
COMMUNITY AMENITIES: 3 swimming pools, basketball court, two clubhouses, playgrounds, tennis/pickleball courts, fitness room, catch & release stocked fishing pond, fire pits, charcoal grills, nature/walking trails. There is a beach shuttle to Bethany Beach during peak season (Memorial Day to Labor Day) with convenient pickup and drop-off locations at the rental property. (Please see note below).
Note: Even though the property can sleep ten (10) guests, there are only eight (8) passes available for guests to use for the community amenities listed above at Bishop's Landing. The passes must be returned to the rental property at the end of your stay or an additional fee of $50 per pass will be charged. Please note children four (4) years old and under do not require to show a pass and are not counted in the total eight (8) passes given to you. If you have more guests than passes, additional passes are not available to purchase and you will have to decide how to use the ones you are furnished.
A Rental Agreement is required to be completed within fourteen (14) days of your arrival date to register you with the HOA as a guest. Also, the House Rules will need to be acknowledged by the person who is responsible for the booking.
