About this property

Historic Home in Trendiest Neighborhood in Downtown Colorado Springs

One of the most unique vacation experiences in downtown Colorado Springs! Located in the trendiest neighborhood in town, this historic bed and breakfast was built by the fiancé of Colorado Springs founder, Winfield Scott Stratton. This updated home is one of the comfiest summer rentals you will find. Enjoy breathtaking mountain views of Pikes Peak from the front porch. Walk one block to the newest restaurants and cafes. Bike to breathtaking trails at Red Rocks Park or Helen Hunt Falls.

This beautiful home was built in 1894 by the fiancé of local legend Winfield Scott Stratton and has a rich historical heritage. As the story goes, when Stratton, who made one of Colorado’s richest gold discoveries ever, broke off their engagement, his fiancé successfully sued him and built our home with her settlement. This historic home has been lavishly updated. Relax in the king-size bed in the master bedroom while watching the big-screen TV. Or plan your next adventure in the “map room,” which is the upstairs bedroom that boasts a wall-size map of all the trails in the Pikes Peak region. Enjoy the spa-like rainshower in the master bath or soak in the beautiful tub upstairs. Find your focus in the upstairs office, which has beautiful views of Pikes Peak. There are so many choices for restaurants, cafes, and music venues within walking distance that you could stay for a week and not get to all of them. And, if outdoor activities are your vibe, then this is the perfect location. You can bike to Red Rocks Open Space, which has endless hiking and mountain biking trails for all levels. You are also a ten-minute drive from Garden of the Gods and Helen Hunt Falls, each of which boasts their own extensive trail networks and breathtaking views. If golf is your game, play and dine the Broadmoor, which is less than ten minutes away and has hosted the PGA tour for multiple events. There is so much to do and see just outside your door! You are also about 15 minutes from the Air Force Academy and ten minutes from Fort Carson. You have your own driveway, or, there is ample parking on the street in front of the house. There also is an extensive network of beautiful bike trails adjacent to the house. Colorado Springs is a bike-friendly downtown. There are share-ride bicycle stations everywhere, and the nearest station is only a block away.

**Note: For monthly stays, the cleaning fee includes two cleanings per month. In other words, we will clean your vacation home every two weeks during your stay!!
