8/10 Good

Small but clean and comfortable house located in an A+ neighborhood
The North Park neighborhood where the house is located is close to perfect. There are many wonderful restaurants, shops, and grocery/convenience stores within walking distance. Even after a week’s stay we couldn’t take in all that the neighborhood had to offer. The property is also near Balboa Park where we spent several days exploring. There is easy access to the major freeways, downtown, and beaches. The house itself is a bit dated and small but clean and comfortable. The beds were great. Sometimes we have problems with back and/or hip pain after sleeping on mattresses that are too firm or too soft but these were just right. The house could have been better stocked with simple things like facial tissues, napkins, and cooking oil but there was enough to make cooking and eating in easy enough. There are a number of windows so it was sunny and bright. The biggest drawback was the driveway. It was great to have a parking spot but the driveway is extremely narrow with a high wall on one side and bushes on the other and drops off in the middle making getting out of it a bit challenging. Overall it was a good choice for us and if we returned to San Diego we would certainly consider this location again.

Steep and very narrow driveway
Very steep and narrow driveway which was not described in ad, also unaware of the big curb step up to the steps to get in to the cottage and the very wobbly railing that could be dangerous. The first night we were on the patio after our showers and heard our garbage cans being moved and without any notice there was a guy in our side yard taking cans down the steps loudly and made the dogs bark like crazy, We then went inside. Then the next night around 10:37 in the late evening we saw a guys head from the window who was bringing our garbage cans back to the side yard so my husband went out front door and said it wasn't cool for him to be there so late and he just said sorry about that. I then called and talked to someone who didn't seem to care. We both felt unsafe, who does that at that hour is beyond me...!!!
