Amazingly comfortable farmhouse

The farmhouse itself was awesome! We had a girls trip, arriving from LA, Idaho, and Colorado. The beds were incredibly comfortable. The flowers and blooming trees were such a delight. We were there for the tulip festival, which did not disappoint. The Corner Bar was our favorite. We actually walked down for dinner three different times. I highly recommend this Farmhouse. If you appreciate quiet, a bald eagle perching in the tree in the front yard, and horses in the field you will love this place as we did.

Gorgeous farmhouse

We loved staying here. Excellent location, beautiful property, and good communication with hosts. The only downside was that the kitchen was not ideal for cooking or preparing meals…we ended up purchasing a sponge and dish soap from the store because none were provided. But we did enjoy the lovely handcrafted soaps and skincare products in the bathrooms!

Serenity

The farmhouse was beautiful, relaxing and quiet. The decor, furnishings and style was in keeping with the beautiful history of the home. The fuses went out and we were without electricity for 1/2 day with no response from property management. Geese in the field were fun for the children to see.

Farm living

Located on a quiet road in Samish flat farmland, with flocks of trumpeter swans right outside the back door. The antique decor fits the home. We would have been more comfortable had some of the decor been updated to include more armchairs, side tables, kitchen utensils, etc.

Modernized Farmhouse with Rustic Credentials

It looks like a classic farmhouse from the outside. The interior is open, airy and light filled. 4 good sized bedrooms, 2 3/4 baths and a lavatory. The kitchen is equipped for a full house and the dining room will accommodate a crowd. Enjoy it as a base for day trips to Bellingham, Mount Baker, the North Cascades and don't skip the nearby delights of Bow and Edison. The dining room

Spa Feeling in the Country

An Andrew Wyeth painting kept coming to mind during our stay. This historic house is perfect with simple, cozy design and decor. The bedding, linens, toiletries, and gardens give the home a luxurious, spa feel. Great location between San Juan Islands and Northern Cascades National Park

Lovely Heritage Home

Everyone in our group agreed this was our favourite accommodation on our trip! It’s a beautiful home, perfectly appointed, in a tranquil country setting. With the Corner Pub down the street and the cute town of Edison not far away, it’s also a fabulous location

Beauty you can touch

This home was better than the listing. It was so full of details, each of them so welcoming and personal. There was an element of luxury in the grounds, decor, linens, and the richness of the furnishings. The grounds were vast and so full of life. We were encouraged to explore and invited to share. It was fantastically full of flowers, plants, and a beautiful view of Mt. Baker. It felt secluded and private but was so close to everything. This home felt like functional art. We hope to return some day.

College Drop off

We wanted to get close to WWU and spend one last night with our daughter hanging out and playing games before leaving her at school. The house was perfect. Such a cool old farmhouse vibe. They have thought of every little detail.

Very nice !

We had a large family gathering from Florida and Hawaii. The house was a perfect fit for us. Plenty of room for everyone. The space was very nicely furnished. The pictures on the listing say it all. Beautifully and artistically decorated. The property was also perfect for us. Lots of outdoor space for the kids to play, a garden with seasonal fruit and herbs. Very quiet neighborhood. Amazing sunsets and star gazing. Bravo to the Hosts for really creating a cool and inviting environment.

Why they chose this property

Central to the Skagit Valley, this is the perfect place if you’re wanting to explore the area's local attractions such as Samish Bay, Deception Pass, Oyster Dome Trail, Chuckanut Drive, Larrabee State Park and so much more (just ask us and we'll give you more recommendations!). Only a 25 min drive west to Anacortes and the San Juan Ferry. Go East towards downtown Mount Vernon, Burlington or head for adventure on the North Cascades Highway. North only 35 minutes to Bellingham and less than 2 hours gets you to base of the Mount Baker Ski Resort for world class skiing & snowboarding in the winter and hiking in the summer.

For those coming for nature and birdwatching, this is a great spot to see the birds year-round and bird migrations in the late fall and mid-spring. This valley is full of life from Herons, Bald Eagles, Gold Finch and Red Tail Hawks to coyotes, whales, alpacas, and horses. You'll also probably spot a rabbit, squirrel, or deer. March & April are also great times to experience the massive fields of daffodils and Tulips with additional local events in April including the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival, Skagit Farm, and Pint Roadshow.

Every Saturday starting April through October there are farmers markets nearby in Mount Vernon, Anacortes, La Conner and Bellingham. Local events include the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival in April, Race Week in Anacortes in June, the Highland Games in July, and Ski to Sea in Bellingham over Memorial Day weekend.
