Small Town USA Brings Rest, Relaxation and Great Lake Fun!

The Hoff House sits just off the square in Stockton, Missouri 30 minutes from Bolivar (great antique shopping) 1 hour north of Springfield, Missouri (and Bass Pro Shop), 1.5 hours from Branson (Silver Dollar City and shows) and 2.5 hours south of Kansas City. The home sits just minutes from one of the top 10 sailing lakes in the country, Stockton Lake. Swimming, fishing, and boating of all kinds are also enjoyed there. The home is within walking distance from banks/ATM's, coffee/gift shop, pharmacy, and a health food store.

The Hoff House is the perfect place to return for a BBQ, backyard games, and drinks on the porch after a long day at the lake. It is spacious inside and out. There is ample room on the 2 acres surrounding the home for parking and play. The kitchen, dining room and living room are open so that the cook in the kitchen can be a part of all the activities. There is a 10 person harvest table in the dining room. There is 1 queen bedroom, 1 king bedroom, and 1 full bath downstairs. Upstairs, there is 1 queen bedroom, 1 bedroom with 1 double bed with 2 twins, 1 king daybed bedroom and another double bedroom upstairs with 2 more full baths. The large master bath is upstairs and includes 2 pedestal sinks, a jetted tub, private toilet and shower. There is also a separate sitting area upstairs. There is a porch (great for coffee in the morning) and another deck with picnic table on the backside of the home overlooking a large grassy area. It's a wonderful place to sit and relax with friends and family.

Because of the spaciousness of the home the Hoff House has become a favorite destination for reunions, anniversaries, retreats, and annual family events. It's close proximity to the lake offers fisherman and boaters a home away from home.

The Hoff House is a historical home that was totally remodeled in 2003. Many of the original attributes of the home have been maintained in the remodel. The original staircase and parts of the wood pinned framing are still integral parts of the home. The harvest table for 10 was built using wood from the original home. Wood from the original home was also used create ceiling beams giving the home a warm, inviting feel.

The Hoff House and the place that it resides offers a reminder of a time when things didn't move so fast and family and friends and the laughter that they bring were the entertainment.

Great stay for a large group

This is a very spacious, comfortable house. It was very clean, with plenty of amenities. This was our second time staying here, and we loved it!

Hoff house of Love

We Loved this house. We called it the house of Love in town for a wedding and we were all able to hang out here play cards and Eat and carve pumpkins out side. Plenty of space for everyone.

Family Reunion

It was wonderful! The family met up in Stockton and the house was wonderful! We were able to cook for everyone in the nice kitchen! The kids had s’mores outback! There were plenty of places to sleep! I love having a washer and dryer available to keep up on the towels! No complaints!

Great location

Unfortunately the renters before us got away with a few things the cleaning crew missed. They cleaned fish in the bathtub downstairs. Fish scales were still in tub. It was very warm during our stay and they ac units were struggling. Once we cleaned the air intakes and vents which were 90% clogged with dust and dirt they worked fine. A little more attention to detailed are necessary. We left the house cleaner than it was when we arrived.

Nice weekend

The Hoff House has everything you need and more. The coffee maker is somewhat slow. Be careful upstairs not to trip between the room or on the original 1800s stairs. The upstairs is quite warm in June. The Hoff House is a great place to stay and to meet family near Caplinger.

Very accommodating

The host was awesome and the home seems to have so much history! We cleaned the house before we left but failed to check one of the closets, leaving all of our coats. The host boxed them up and mailed them to us. She was so nice about it and would only let me compensate her for the cost of shipping. We will be back soon as we really enjoyed our stay.

Family Vacation

The house was just like I remembered from the first time I was there. It accommodated our party of 14 wonderfully, we ranged from 4 yrs to 55 yrs old. Full kitchen saved us a lot of money, being able to prepare meals there. Yard is great to sit outside and enjoy games and a fire at the fire pit at night. Close to lake where we were able to leave our boat at Marina and drive 20 minutes every day to go boating. Which is why we choose to take our family vacation in Stockton plus I knew the house was there and would make it a great trip!!! Thank you

Lots of Room

We have stayed here before, this time for 9 days, and love that there is so much room inside and outside to accommodate friends and family. Also enjoyed reading the history of this historic house that are displayed throughout the house! Only complaints are the cloths dryer didn't work properly and AC units upstairs were not able to cool the area even with fans in place to help circulate. We will definitely be back to stay again!!

Great place for large group and lake access

Second time we’ve stayed at Hoff House. Lots of space for large group and expansive backyard for games and grilling out. Plenty of room for parking and boat trailer.

Comfortable respite

This property was exactly what was promised. It is a gorgeous property that allowed 8 of us plenty of space to enjoy each other. The house is gorgeous and has so much character! It was clean and very comfortable. It was the perfect place for a large group to stay. I would definitely stay again.

We had a great experience at the Hoff House. We enjoyed reading the history and the house was large and accommodated our family gathering. The expansive outdoor area was great for grilling, exploring, and roasting s'mores.

Home away from Home

We had a great time at the Hoff House! It was like our home away from home. We got to enjoy each others company in between our outing adventures in Stockton. The house became a place to go in between our hikes to eat ,play games, bake cookies,and do crafts. It was like being at home with a full stocked kitchen to make our meals. A great table to sit around and eat. The kids played games and did home work. In the evening we settle down and watch movies. The house was full of charm and great history.

Lots of room

This is a home with lots of character. There is plenty of room ,the beds are comfortable. We did Thanksgiving there.The decor was very nice and festive . If you are cooking for a lot I would bring xtra cooking pans and cooking dishes . It was a bit difficult. The dryer takes a while to dry clothes ,but works . A lot of the dvd movies that are available were missing.Also your showers need to be quick the hot water runs out fast . We would stay agian !!!

Family get-away

This large house and spacious yard was perfect for a family get-together. We played corn hole, grilled brats and built a fire in the fire pit in the seclusion of the sprawling back lawn and deck. The harvest table seats 8 comfortably and was perfect for games and laughter till late in the night. The house exudes historic charm. Recommend!

Wonderful Place with Large Outdoor Space

Loved this place and the history behind this house. Especially liked that there were historic articles displayed on the main level. It is very spacious inside and out. Had great communication with the management. We will definitely be back!!

Great Family Vacation!!
