Brookie cabin was just perfect for 2 or 3! Allison made sure we had everything we needed and gave us great advice for area activities. Peaceful days and nights along the river were just what we were looking for!
Awesome place to stay! Perfect for what we needed it for. Riverfront and great ponds to fish with BIG trout. Great hospitality and cleanliness. We'll be back 8)
We really enjoyed our stay, wish it was longer. Only issue is we wish the entrance sign was bigger and had more light at night. Otherwise is was perfert.
The property was wonderful for us. The location along the river is beautiful. The overall property very well maintained. The cabin was top notch. The sound of the river at night was beautiful!
Pictures didn’t do this quaint little slice of heaven any justice! I had never seen anything like this in our great country. This little cabin was everything you need to reset from your busy work life. Alison was very helpful in my time of need and made it so much easier to check in and head to the wedding when I was so pressed for time! I do not have one suggestion on how to make this experience any better, it was simply perfect!
Allison and her husband went above and beyond to make our stay fantastic. I cannot recommend Trout Tales enough amazing cabins and hosts. Their stretch of the river and their stocked ponds have the biggest trout I’ve ever seen and they are a must fish. My family and I also had a medical emergency during our stay and Allison and her husband were unbelievable with their time and efforts to help us and make sure we were okay. I will forever be in their debt.
The title came from the welcome book that the hosts have in the cabin. I’m not gonna try to improve on their outlook.
Having the Canojes river as your front yard, well, it just doesn’t get any better than that. The host of done a fabulous job, creating an ideal spot to get away. Scenery is amazing, the fishing is amazing, all the while staying in a new, spotless cabin. You won’t be disappointed!
I don’t think there is enough space to list all of the great qualities of this property!!
First of all the cabin is amazing! It was just the right size for the two of us and had everything we could possibly need. It is beautifully built with the perfect mix of modern meets nature.
I don’t think you could get closer to the Conejos River without being IN it!! The sounds, the smells and the scenery exceeded expectations! We even heard, and then saw, a bull elk rounding up his cows one morning. Another morning we saw two doe mule deer and their fawns crossing the river while we were fishing.
The fishing…….although we fished on public access one afternoon we spent the rest of the time right there fishing the stretch of Trout Tales. The quality of fishing is great and the fish are huge!
What makes this place top notch are the Hosts; very personable, kind, squared away and just overall friendly! Allison’s communication was clear and constant. If we had any questions, she responded right away.
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! Also, they are pet friendly and our lab, Oakley, has never been so exhausted!
Whether you are an avid fisherman or just need a peaceful place to stay, look no further. Trout Tales will not disappoint!
Quaint cabin on the Conejos. Great for a couple or solo.
If you’re looking for a 1 bedroom with your spouse or traveling alone, then this is a perfect fit for you. Newly constructed, small, quaint and cute.
It was extremely too crowded to pull down the Murphy bed for my mother, so we had her stay with my uncle down the road. We would’ve
Had to crawl over her to go to the restroom. And that would not have worked. Great for a couple or solo.
The property pictures were accurate for the most part. Came with a coffee pot and coffee. Had a super comfy bed. The windows open made it perfectly pleasant. But Bring your own toiletries and hair dryer.
The communication with the host was lacking. But she did apologize. If I were you, I would message her before booking if you have any questions about fishing or the property.
