Summary:
Come and check out one of the newest National Parks! Relax and unwind with the whole family at our getaway home surrounded by nature. Enjoy the privacy while still being minutes from shopping, restaurants, and all the amenities New River Gorge offers. Whether you spend your time being entertained in the game room, lounging in the sun room, sitting around the fire place, or soaking in the hot tub, our home as something for everyone!

The Space:
Bedroom 1 - King bed and full bathroom. Pack n play, high chair, baby gate, and toddler toys can be found in the closet.
Bedroom 2 - Double bed and twin bunk beds.
Bedroom 3 - Queen Bed
A pull out sofa bed is located in the game room.
2 full bathrooms on the main floor and 1 full bathroom on the lower floor.
2 Queen air mattresses are also available if needed.

You have access to the entire home. A garage door opener is provided during your stay. Your unique 4 digit access code is how you will get into the home.

The long driveway and turn around can accommodate multiple cars.

Other Things to Note:
The property is on a one way, no outlet road that can be easily missed. Recommend using GPS. The driveway is long and on an incline with a turn around. You are more than welcome to park in the garage, driveway, or turn around. There are 2 outdoor cameras at the front and back of the property that are only in use during vacancy. This is a very safe neighborhood, but this helps us keep an eye out for uninvited guests.

An excellent stay while touring the area

We were in the area to visit the sites and stayed at the Woodsy Retreat. This was a very well appointed home with lots of space and amenities. A great time was had by all!

Quiet & Close to the New River Gorge Park

Nice house and quiet location just outside of down town Oak Hill. We had several issues that were addressed with excellent communication with the owner. Those that were not resolved, we were compensated for.

It was nice

Didn't realize it was in a neighborhood since it said woodsy retreat. Staying in a home was so much more enjoyable than a hotel. It was a nice house but could use some updates and those couches have to go. The proximity to everything we wanted to do could not have been better. We were literally minutes from all the highlights. Too tired from adventuring to utilize the amenities but definitely a nice touch if traveling with the intent to sit around the house.

Perfect place for a large group of friends! We came up to rock climb and it was nice having the hot tub and game room and plenty of sleep spaces!

One of the best!

The owner is a terrific communicator, and the house is exactly as described. The neighborhood is quiet and Oak Hill is a great central location for everything there is to do in that part of West Virginia. Honestly, everything was perfect and went smoothly and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again! I highly recommend you choose this home!

A Great Stay in WV

What a wonderful vacation home! The location feels secluded but is only minutes from a cute little downtown area and a short drive to Fayetteville and New River Gorge. My teen/20s kids loved the game room and I loved the hot tub. You could happily spend your whole vacation just at the house and have a great time! Samantha was a helpful communicator, answering every question within a few minutes and offering great suggestions on restaurants and activities. The house is stocked with everything you need and lots of extra little surprises like coffee supplies, and huge fluffy towels, and sofa covers for the dog. This host really knows how to pamper guests. I would love to go back, and highly recommend this place.

Great house, close to the New River Gorge

Great property, close to everything we wanted to do in the New River Gorge National Park. Very quiet area. Plenty of space to spread out at the house. The kids loved all the games downstairs and the hot tub was a bonus. The beds were super comfortable. We will definitely be staying again on our next visit to the National Park. Host is a super host. Always quick to respond to anything that we needed. Can't say enough good things about this place.

Amazing Experience

First of all the host, Sam, is awesome. The place is a rare gem to find on apps like these especially if you care about cleanliness and sanitisation. She was kind enough to order a new bunk bed on demand, I mean who does that. And, on top of everything, every tiny thing from the game room to the kitchen and the grill and the living was taken care of professionally. We felt very spoiled there and I highly recommend this place. It was beyond five stars.

Great place for family!

We had so much fun! The property boasts a game room that kept us all together and busy after our days full of adventure at the nearby National Park. This location was close to our white water rafting adventures but also close to a nice rails to trails path in Oak Hill. The weather was a little cooler so we took advantage of the hot tub as well. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook family meals and the host also left us plenty of ideas for dining in the area if we didn’t want to cook :) Our family voted this as our favorite stop this year, we would definitely visit again. Thanks for a great time.

Perfect Location and Home

The house was perfect! Exactly as advertised! The location is perfect for exploring New River Gorge National Park as well as numerous state parks in the area. We were very busy while there but did make time on the last day to enjoy the hot tub. I only wish we had made more time for the hot tub. :)

Hello! We are travelers that grew up in Ohio, moved to California, and now reside in North Carolina. With a lot of family still in Ohio, we wanted a home in a prime location to meet with them. We are a family of 4 that love being outdoors hiking, rafting, and creating new adventures.

Why they chose this property

We love New River Gorge. There is no shortage of things to do. We are always finding new trails and places to be entertained at. There is literally something for everyone. The neighborhood is friendly. The mom and pop restaurants are unique and delicious. You get all the seasons! So much to love in this small town. One of my favorite things about Oak Hill is the creative bear structures throughout the town. Each time we are there, we find a new one that we didn't see before.

What makes this property unique

Most people that go on vacation go because they want to relax and unwind. Our home does just that. I feel at peace when I drink my morning coffee in the sunroom and watch all the colorful birds come around. The serene views of the valley and the woods make you feel so secluded but it you're looking for an adventure, its only a short drive. My kids love to hike down the mountain next to the house, or challenge me in the game room. Fun for the whole family.
