Summary:
East Hill Hideout is a stylish and modern cabin with an emphasis on decor and and comfort, in the heart of the Catskills, located 2 hours from NYC.
Set on 5 private acres surrounded by woodlands, the lodge has 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths. Amenities include a wood burning stove, firepit, and access to the best hiking and dining in the region. The lively town of Livingston Manor is about 10 minutes away and Callicoon is under 20 minutes.
The Space:
The black facade of East Hill Hideout provides a striking contrast to the lush green of the wooded backdrop, and is an indicator of the contemporary design found throughout this newly-built home, set on a quiet country road not far from the Village of Jeffersonville.
The open concept kitchen, living and dining area is the heart of the house. The space is airy and bright from the two sets of sliders that lead out to the deck, and the clerestory windows that emphasize the top of the high slanted ceiling. Much focus has been given to décor and luxe touches throughout the house for that pampered feeling.
The thoughtfully-appointed kitchen features butcher block countertops with a generous island, perfect for meal prep or just hanging out with the chef, while the style of the uber-comfortable lounge area is relaxed modern. Gather ‘round the woodstove and sip cocktails while listening to records on the Audio Technica record player and Gramovox speaker.
Leaving the public space and heading down the hallway, the two guest bedrooms, both queens with vaulted ceilings, share a luxe bathroom with two sinks, soaking tub and tiled shower.
The spacious master bedroom is an oasis, with a king-sized bed, writing desk, lots of natural light, and a door that leads out onto the back deck, while the subway-tiled modern en suite bathroom has a tub/shower.
The sprawling, private back deck is another great hangout spot, with lounge furniture and a gas grill. It overlooks an open lawn where the fire pit, ringed with Adirondack chairs, is a nighttime go-to.

Getting Around:
East Hill Hideout is less than two hours from New York City, and while you'll definitely want a car to get there and around the area, there is also a Short Line bus to the city from Monticello, about 20 minutes away. In the winter, we recommend a car with four-wheel drive that can handle the snow and gravel roads.
Other Things to Note:
SMOKING
No smoking is permitted inside the house. If you must smoke, please do so outside and dispose of butts properly.
SEPTIC
Please be mindful of the septic system and do not flush anything down the toilets or drains other than toilet paper. This includes any and all personal hygiene products, baby wipes, bleaches and strong chemical cleaners.
BUGS
To avoid unwanted bugs and critters, please do not leave food out or doors open. As well, lyme, a tick-born disease, is a concern in the Hudson Valley and Catskills regions. Please be mindful by wearing long pants and sleeves while hiking or playing outdoors, and remember to check yourself, kids, and pets daily for ticks.
WINTER WEATHER:
In the winter, we recommend a car with four-wheel drive that can handle the snow and slippery roads. While we have someone that plows and salts the roads, weather in the area can be unpredictable so please check and plan accordingly.
