The cottage is perfect for a couple. Small, cozy, plenty of room. The heating system takes some learning, but the fireplace is easy. The grounds are beautiful and if the weather cooperates, take the time to walk around them.Proximity to Middleburg and Upperville makes it even better.I hope to return.
We absolutely loved this little cottage. It's a great location near Middleburg, tucked back in the woods. It's got everything you need for a peaceful retreat. A perfect place to curl up in front of the fire with a book. The host was so welcoming and easy to work with. We'll definitely be back!
Cottage as described, communication with owner was great. I'll break it down by pros & cons:
Pros -very clean, well kept, good communication, wide open area for pets, access to all streaming services, modern bath, bottle of wine for us.
Cons - if you grill, charcoal probably best but propane side not very efficient, very narrow stairway to bedroom, bedroom on 2nd floor with bath on 1st. Anyone over 6 ft tall be careful with headroom in a couple spots.
Surrounding area of Middleburg was disappointing, so many places closed on Monday and Tuesday and stores that were opened were way beyond most peoples budget, but the cottage owner (Tim) doesn't have any control over that.
Overall the cottage was very nice.
The property is stunning. The cottage is cozy and had everything we needed. The location is a short drive to the charming downtown area of Middleburg and conveniently accessible to parks and wineries in the area.
Tim was an excellent host. He was so responsive and hospitable. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.
This cottage could not be more welcoming. The decor, cleanliness, and "farmhouse coziness" are unmatched. We lucked out because the trees surrounding the property were in full autumn mode, and it was absolutely gorgeous. We even brought our Rottweiler, and she loved playing catch in the spacious fields surrounding the property.
If you have the need for a place to stay in this area, hurry up and book this cottage. I'll be honest in saying that I'm a very picky person, and this one checked ALL of the boxes. 10/10

Love, love, love this charming cottage. It was a beautiful place to stay-charming and comfortable. The bottle of wine on arrival was a treat. There were relaxing spots to sit outside, too. Middleburg was 5 minutes away.
My husband and I had a wonderful stay in this charming, well equipped house located in an ideal spot for local hiking and fine dining. The upstairs bedroom is spacious, but cozy, and has a nice area for reading and doing work. Downstairs is a small kitchen, comfy couch and large TV. We sat outside for our morning coffee overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountain-- and our host couldn't be more accommodating and friendly! Highly recommend.

Absolutely superb - 100% first class. Totally enjoyed the stay. A great launchpad for visit to Middleburg and the surrounding area. The cottage was perfect. Well furnished and decorated and very comfortable. The owner was responsive and very accommodating. I highly recommend this cottage.
Fantastic historic cottage close to Middleburg and Upperville
Our stay was fantastic. The cottage and property were beautiful. The cottage is historic yet recently updated and nicely appointed. The location is great, being just a few minutes from downtown Middleburg. We hope to return.
Fun, unique space. We enjoyed our stay. Suggestions for an even better stay - upgrade the mattress (or add a quality topper), upgrade the bedding (natural blankets and comforters and better pillows), and a tankless (or a larger) hot water heater.
We had a great stay in the perfect location in Middleburg right off the highway but very quiet and private on large piece of land facing the mountains for gorgeous sunsets. It’s close to downtown with shops and restaurants, close to hiking trails in the State Parks and walking trails and close to a number of wineries, some are dog friendly which we love since we love to bring our pup along to every occasion and adventure.
This property was perfect for a short mother-daughter trip to Middleburg. The cottage and beautiful outdoor spaces (including a fireplace and dining area) are just as pictured and the location is very convenient to the shops and restaurants in town. We loved our stay and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!
We had a wonderful stay at this Cottage. Beautiful property, grounds and a superb location. Highly recommend. Communications with Tim were quick, easy and friendly. Very responsive.
Middleburg, Virginia cottage in an amazing setting!
Middleburg is a quaint Virginia town with lots of history, and to stay in this 1800 century cottage added to the entire experience. Tim (owner) is absolutely fabulous and so accommodating. Tim spent time with us (by our request) and gave us the history of the cottage and plantation. The cottage is well stocked, comfortable, and exactly as the pictures show. But to sit out on the patio looking out over the landscape was wonderful and so peaceful! Middleburg, itself, is full of wineries, shops and restaurants. This cottage was a 7 minute drive to the town. Everything about the cottage and area is 5 stars!! If I could give it more stars, and Tim, we would!
We had a nice stay in a lovely rural location with nice outdoor terrace and quiet street for a long walk.
Communication with the host was simple and straight forward.
Stylish update of a historic stone "tiny house". Owners have thought of everything. It's an idyllic spot just 5 minutes from Middleburg Main Street, close to shops and wineries. We loved this getaway!
We spent the weekend at the cottage and loved it! The cottage is clean and well kept! Tim and Erica were terrific hosts! Great communication and special touches like leaving us some bubbly for our anniversary! We would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area! Everything was wonderful!
