UPDATE 4/17/2025
Our home survived the Malibu fires. PCH (Pacific Coast Highway) near our house is still in phase 2 of cleanup and PCH is still closed to the general public until late May 2025 (tentative)
As of now, our calendar is open starting on May 17, 2025. We are looking forward to welcoming back guests in the Spring and Summer this year.
The Pacific Ocean is the backyard! Our home has an incredible two level oceanfront deck. The upper deck has a charming enclosed dining sunroom and lounging area shaded by a beautiful Norfolk pine. The lower deck has lounging space, BBQ, hot tub, outdoor shower and gated steps to the ocean. The house has a cozy and relaxing beach cottage vibe.
You'll want to spend your days outdoor on the 50' wide double deck patio! Whether enjoying your morning coffee at sunrise or pouring a glass of wine at sunset, this is the most stunning area of the house and you won't want to leave!
The lower deck has a large sectional with fire pit, there are 3 chaise lounges, a BBQ and hot tub. You'll likely see dolphins, sea lions, and pelicans during your stay.
Our house is located on a wet/dry beach. What that means is during low tides, there is usually beach to walk, run and play on. However, sand levels directly in front of our house can vary significantly, depending on Mother Nature. Sand may be abundant, or it may disappear entirely. When that happens, the area in front of our house becomes very rocky.
Typically, you can still access open and sandy beach for walks and running, but if it's rocky, you'll need to walk over the rocks two houses to the south/east to get to the open and sandy beach.
During high tides, however, the water does usually come up to the house, which limits your access to the beach regardless of sand levels.
The times for high and low tides vary every day but are predictable. We cannot guarantee the surf and beach conditions/access at anytime so please keep this in mind when booking and check the tide charts when planning your trip and your days while staying here. I have attached pictures of when sand levels are high and when they are low.
* If you bring a dog and it's high tide, dog can go to the bathroom at a nearby park off Las Flores.
