About this property

Walker Hill Farms on the Staunton River. Liberty U, 30 miles away

Walker Hill Farms is a 106 acre Farm located on the Staunton Riv. It consists Walker Hills Farm sets on 106 acres of open fields, hard woods, cut over, and old family farm house, original part built circa 1780. A former tobacco farm, the house itself is rustic and quaint decorated with art and antiques, some original to house. There are three bedrooms, one bath, living room, dining room, kitchen, and sunroom. The kitchen is complete with dishwasher, oven, microwave, with cookware and serving dishes, Washer Dyer Combo in Sun Room. The farm has mostly been used for weekend retreats and hunting outings. Each room has baseboard heat and/or individual unit or gas fireplace. AIr conditioner window units cool the house in summer. You will have access to roam the property, hike or mountain bike to the river, and launch your canoe or Kayak. The run between Long Island and Brookneal is rated as one of the best canoe trips in the state. Charter fishing trips can be arranged for small mouth, Strippers, and walleye as well as drop off for your canoe (you can canoe or kayak back to property) The house, by plan, does not have TV's or internet. Hey, unplug and enjoy. There is a strong Verizon and ATT signal for your phone and if you need to hotspot. The town of Brookneal is across river, less than two miles with Food Lion Grocery store and several nice restaurants. There are beautiful plantation homes to discover including Patrick Henry's last home and burial place. Only a short 30 mile trek to Lynchburg and Liberty University

It was an adventure.

On the one hand, the history of the house was super cool. In the center of the house you could see what kind of house Laura Ingalls lived in. Most of the house was rustic and historic. The bathroom was nicely updated. We had clean bedding bedding and

Great experience for me & my family!

When first arriving to the house we got a little confused with the address provided, as the house is set way back off the road. The house has a very old country charm with tons of history and antiques displayed. The land is incredibly beautiful and there is tons to see and do. My families over all stay was amazing and we made some great memories with my father in law that lives not far down the road. We would definitely stay here again.
