About this property
Birch & Buck - Stunning Views near Hudson & Hunter
Summary:
Birch & Buck is a stunning escape in the heart of the Catskills, located 2.5 hours from NYC.
Set on 13 private acres with unmatched views of the Catskills, surrounded by woodlands, the lodge has 4 bedrooms and 4 en-suite luxe baths. Amenities include a heated swimming pool, wood burning stove, firepit, and access to the best hiking and dining in the region. Windham and Hudson (25 mins), Hunter (30 mins), and Catskill (10 mins) are easily accesible.
The Space:
Nestled on a ridge with unmatched mountain views, surrounded by 13 acres of private woodlands, Birch and Buck is a newly built modern Catskills lodge. The winding driveway passes through a meadow and forest and the stark white structure emerges with the panoramic view, seemingly painted into view. With warm and soothing colors and textures, the house exudes comfort, with playful pops of art scattered throughout.
Upon entering, the first thing you’ll notice is the open floor plan flooded with natural light by the large windows throughout, and in particular, the wall of glass with the wood stove drawing your eyes to the cathedral ceilings. The cornered living space features a long and comfy couch with two accompanying lounge chairs, all centered around the wood-burning stove, with a large smart TV. But, with the views in this corner, you won’t even think about the show you’re binging. Connect to the home Sonos system to bring some cheer to your group.
The well-appointed kitchen features a 15-ft island with bar seating for five to join the cook as they prepare the feast in the chef’s kitchen with a stunning beech log mural backsplash and white quartz counters. When the meal is ready, gather around the 10-ft oak farm table, a truly memorable place to gather!
In the back wing of the primary floor are three bedrooms. Two of these guest suites have king beds and mountain views with full en-suite bathrooms featuring heated floors and rain showers. The third bedroom on the primary floor is a full-sized bunk bed (perfect for the kids!) with a full en-suite bathroom and working desk space to take those calls if you must. Each bedroom has its own large smart TV.
The second floor houses the primary suite and is a grand room. The king-sized bed is flooded with light from the skylights, the ultimate place to awaken each day. The bedroom features a couch and an additional workstation, and large smart TV, giving you ultimate privacy. Down the hall is a full en-suite bath with dual sinks and a walk-in rain shower and a large soaking tub.
If this hasn’t piqued your interest, the incredible deck with a heated pool will certainly do the trick. Where else can you swim with views like this?! The large deck also features chaise lounges, and a spacious teak dining table, the ideal place to feast on your BBQ. Just off the deck is a half-moon of Adirondack chairs with a Solo Stove firepit. Sit back, throw a few logs on the fire and watch the sun set behind the Catskills. Down the path from the house is “hammock grove”, three hammocks, strung from the group of trees, so don’t forget to bring a book and unwind amongst the woodlands.
If you absolutely must leave the house (we wouldn’t recommend this), you couldn’t be in a more ideal location. The town of Cairo is just five minutes away, the perfect run for essentials. The cities of Catskill (15 minutes) and Hudson (20 minutes) offer some of the best dining and shopping in the region. If you’re looking to spend some time on the slopes, Windham (25 minutes) and Hunter (30 minutes) are both easily accessible. No matter what time of year, you’re guaranteed to have a memorable time in this unique Catskills getaway.
The Neighborhood:
Birch & Buck is located in the heart of the Catskills, in the hamlet of Leeds. This quaint town has all of your essentials, including a grocery store, CVS, bakery, and local restaurants just 5 minutes away. There are lots of explore-worthy spots within a short drive including both Hunter and Windham Mountains, both under 30 minutes away. The restaurants in Tannersville and Round Top (Mama's Boy Burgers, Fellow Cafe, Prospect, Trotwood Restaurant, and the restaurant at Deer Mountain Inn) are also just 15-20 minutes away.
The very cool town of Catskill is just 15 minutes away, don't miss out on New York Restaurant, HiLo Cafe, Submersive Brewing, and Left Bank Cider. Lastly, the city of Hudson, with an Amtrak train stop is just 20 minutes away and has endless shopping and dining options.
The home is down a long driveway and is as private as it gets with 12 acres to explore. Exploring the area is easy!
Getting Around:
Birch & Buck is 2.5 hours from New York City, and while you'll definitely want a car to get enjoy the region, the Amtrak station in Hudson is just 20 minutes away. In the winter, we recommend a car with four-wheel drive that can handle the snow and gravel roads. There is plenty of parking on the premises.
Other Things to Note:
* Please note the pool opens from mid-to-late May until mid-to-late September.
