Our family enjoyed our time in Edisto Island in this fun beach house. It is a fun preserved piece of history on the each. The porch swing was amazing for sunrise views and the beach has amazing shells providing hours of entertainment for the kids. Only downfall is sharing 1 shower but you can make it work. Would go back!
Loved this place, it is so simple and exactly what we needed. Stayed here for our anniversary getaway. The kitchen is well stocked and we appreciated the little touches like dishwashing soap and paper towels. The house is clean and beds were comfy. . Would definietly stay againdedefhavlitfirdaysdayshaeverything

The setting is glorious. I loved lying in bed and listening to the waves, and watching the sunrise out the window. The house is rustic, but well equipped. The state park pass is a plus the hikes there wonderful.
Nice basic bungalowDescription states there is a pool. There is not.

Winter at Edisto
Enjoyed the rustic, but maintained cottage on the beach. The beds were comfortable and the cottage clean. The listing needs updating, there are no toiletries provided and we were unable to use the fireplace, disappointed.
I loved my stay. It is an older beach house just like from my childhood but with the modern convenience of dishwasher, laundry and a/c. Absolutely loved it. Sitting on the porch is the best. You’re almost level with the beach. The owners had a beach toy box full of fun toys even adults can enjoy. We rented bikes , eas , they deliver to the house . So much fun.
Simple, classic beach cottage - our family had an absolute blast. Property manager went above & beyond for us, cannot say enough about how well we were treated. Plan to return to this property asap!
Loved that this original Edisto cottage has been maintained so well! Walking straight to the beach was amazing! Back porch time was wonderful for morning coffee and afternoon sunsets!
We totally enjoyed staying in this cute little bungalo and look forward to coming back next year. The house was so quaint and cozy and was just perfect for us
Great house, porch out of this world!!! Perfect beach
This is a well cared for older home that is a vital reminder of Edisto as it used to be. I hope this, and other homes like it will continue to be a part of the community for years and years to come. The house was clean and as pictured, the host was gracious and understanding of our needs. The only thing that was hard for me to do was to communicate back to the host during our stay to let her know for future guests small things that did not meet the description such as no blender or beach towels in the home and a need for more toiletries at the sinks and showers. Not a big deal as we brought everything we needed. I do not mention this as a complaint and not something I would put in a review for other guests. The beach chairs, the porch furniture, the outside shower and rinse off locations were wonderful, so many details that we enjoyed very much. Thank you to Roxanne (I think perhaps my inability to communicate adequately during the stay may have had something to do with my insufficient computer skills...) If you would like to edit this for a posted review for a wonderful house, please do!
My family and I had the most wonderful stay in this lovely little beach house. The location is amazing in relation to both the local shops/restaurants as well as the actual surf! As a mother of two little ones, I loved not having to worry about lugging beach gear up and down massive staircases just to go out on the beach. The house itself is an original Edisto beach house and the simplicity and casual charm was exactly what we were looking for. In fact, I now plan to rent this house every year for as long as it’s available. In addition, the owner, Roxanne, was the best hostess we’ve ever had (and we’ve had many). Communication and responsiveness was spot on and she certainly went out of her way to make sure we had the VERY best vacation experience - thank you Roxanne!!
The house is a well set up step back to an original style Edisto beach house with all the modern amenities. The owners are clearly restoring close to its original state. We loved it. The porch is on the beach fantastic location. Great communication with our host. Easy in and out!
The photos of the beach cottage don’t come close to doing it justice! The inside of the cottage takes you back to a relaxing slower time. From the original wood beams and walls to the clawfoot bathtub. Each morning I looked forward to having coffee on the back porch while watching the sun rise and listening to the waves. I was able to relax immediately from work and normal life (which usually takes multiple days).
The cottage was the perfect backdrop for a wonderful micro beach wedding just off of the back porch. I would 100% stay here again when I’m in the area. It was magical.
Back for a second time- love the little cabin on the beach-has everything you would need for a very laid back, easy, relaxing get a way. Not for those looking for fancy. Very charming and rustic. Love.
We loved the location being steps to the beach. As other reviews have stated, this is an original cottage but has been well maintained and is comfortable and well stocked. Great communication with the owner. We would definitely return!
Excellent location just steps from the beach. Rustic house, about 80 years old, but in great shape with all the modern conveniences. Could use a slight refresh in a few areas, e.g. new toilet seats and a better mattress, but overall a very good place to relax and enjoy the beach. Would definitely return in the future.
Exactly what we expected, old timey beach house right on the ocean. My wife and I have been coming here for over 25 years. If you are looking for every "modern" convenience, my guess is you'll be disappointed, but as far as quaint, romantic, rustic, and nostalgic goes, this is the place for you!
Good - the location is great, the wifi is good, the appliances are all new and good., the owner responds very quickly when contacted Bad - this is not a place to stay is the weather is cold. We had to get very creative and borrow space heaters to stay close to warm. There are in fact 2 bathrooms but only 1 shower - I would say there is 1 and 1/2 baths. The lighting in the house is very bad - don't count on reading in bed.
Owner very prompt with communication. Had some maintenance issues that she got right on top of, although Kips fix was temporary. Clean place, awesome porch. Could use quite a few additional amenities but I'll let Roxanne reach out to me privately. Just know there is no privacy in the home because it's all original wood boards between all the walls. So you can, and will, hear everything going on in every room. We are close friends and didn't care, but if you want privacy, this isn't for you. The master bedroom has a significant slant, so if you are at all unsteady on your feet, this might not work for you. Each room has it's own heat/AC which was very nice. No door between kitchen and front porch so we did struggle a bit with cold air intruding into living room [it was quite cold when we were there]. A simple curtain or door would greatly help keep heat and AC in. We loved the ambiance of the 1934 home, loved the location. Even made it through an intense storm, although we did have water intrusion via AC unit in the window in the master and water came in the bottom of the other windows. But, the storm was very intense. Overall I think you'd like it here.
My wife and I stayed for our 15th wedding anniversary. We were in such a peaceful spot on the beach and fell asleep to the waves crashing in on the sand. We will always remember this anniversary and left us longing for the next time we could come back again.
