About this property
100acre Woods Cabin Retreat
About this space
No Smoking in home, No animals or pets allowed! 30 MILES TO LIBERTY UNIVERSITY, 45 MILES TO DANVILLE, 12 MILES TO ALTAVISTA, 30 MILES TO LYNCHBURG. This cabin boasts access to 100 acres of serene nature while hiking the trails, fishing and/or swimming in the Staunton river. Canoeing from your own boat slip down river to the long Island community center. Relax on the large rocking chair front porch with your honey on the porch swing, or roasting marshmallows and sipping drinks around the fire pit! This is not a party house, it is meant to relax and enjoy peace, quiet, and nature, enjoy!
The space
This is a nicely restored and modernized 1890's cabin, private, quiet and comfortable.
Guest access
The farm trails are very well posted. Each Trail has its own color coded sign to aid in navigation, as well as a matching color coded map in the cabin to follow. I expect my neighbors to respect my property lines and so I do the same for them. So the places you are not supposed to be are clearly posted with no trespassing signs, Please respect the neighbors.
Other things to note
Do not bring any animals!
The river is approximately a 15 minute hike from the cabin depending on your level of physical fitness. It will take hours to walk all of the trails if you wanted to. There are full time tenants that live on the farm, they will also make use of the trails and river from time to time, they are more used to the place, so they take all the fun stuff the property has to offer for granted and use it much less than you'd think, I just want you to be aware and share.
This is a deep country home in the woods, I have the home professionally pest treated on a monthly schedule, but there will be bugs of the forest from time to time that make it inside.
Also, this being a deep country home in the woods, it means humans are not the top of the food chain, there have been bear sightings in these woods, please be aware of our furry friends.
No one is allowed to hunt on the 100acres the Cabin resides on, however properties adjacent to this property do hunt, we just want you to be aware of this. Deer hunting season is the most popular season around here and runs from Nov 5th to Jan 7th.
