Sea Shades is a charming 3BR/2B bungalow. Sleeps 9 and is perfect for your trip to the beach! Enjoy the large upper deck where you can relax and enjoy coastal breezes or hang out under the porch below where it’s cool and shady. 2 bedrooms and bath upstairs and a third bedroom and bath en-suite on the ground make this an ideal place for your group.
Guests will find an open kitchen/dining/living area with plenty of space to hang out, cook, dine and watch TV. The dining table seats 6 and the center island bar seats an additional 3. The cooks will enjoy GE SS appliances along with a variety of cooking tools and small appliances (blender, hand mixer, crockpot, instant pot, flat griddle (perfect for big pancake breakfasts), and large stock pot for that crab boil!) For the coffee drinkers, there is a drip coffee maker and a Keurig, as well as a whistling kettle for tea aficionados. On the downstairs deck, a combination charcoal/ propane grill is available (charcoal and lighter fluid to be provided by guest). The separate guest quarters downstairs is equipped with a mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker so that snacks and beverages are close at hand when using the downstairs space.
While your meal is cooking, hang out with family or friends on the patio under the home. Play some outdoor games like Yardzee (large Yahtzee) or ring toss, put the hammock up and simply swing and relax. Upstairs guests can enjoy the sunshine and ocean breezes on the East and South facing decks; On cooler nights, warm up next to the tabletop firepit from the comfort of the upper deck or view the stars while sitting on the Adirondack chairs around the outdoor firepit.
Heading over to the beach? There are some beach chairs, umbrella, rolling cart and some toys located in the deck area. When you come in from the beach, an outdoor shower is located on the back patio to rinse the salt and sand away.
Inside , hi speed Wi-Fi is available. Guests can log in to favorite TV shows on the 65 inch Smart TV in the living area. The Master, Guest and Bunk room TVs also allow guest log ins via Firestick. And if you need to log in to work, there is a monitor and work station available in the Master bedroom. In the living room, relax on two leather recliners, a couch with a comfy chaise, and warm up on cold nights in front of the electric fireplace. Plenty of board games can be found in the living and bunk room.
This home sleeps 9 max including children under 2 years of age (4- 6 adults and 3 children in the bunk room). The master is furnished with a comfortable king bed; secondary room has a twin over twin bunk and a trundle (3); and a full bed (2). Bunks have weight restrictions and upper bunks may better suited for children over 7 years with weight not to exceed 150 lbs. Middle/lower bunk and trundles not to exceed 175 lbs. The downstairs guest suite has a queen bed. All guests (adults & children) must be accurately noted on the registration.
A full bath with shower/tub combo is upstairs and a shower/double sink combo is in the downstairs suite. The full size washer and dryer is located downstairs in the guest suite as well.
This is a family owned beach home. We appreciate guests who treat the home with care and respect as if their own. Host reserves the right to change decor, beddings, pillows, and furniture if necessary and by doing so does not constitute listing inaccuracies. A limited starter supply of paper products, dish soap and washer pods will be available.
The main living area is accessed via exterior stairs. The queen guest suite downstairs is accessed via a separate locking door and guests must come up the exterior stairs to join the main house area. It is considered a separate living area.
The home has three exterior facing security cameras which are actively recording during your stay. Cameras are in public areas only (facing drive area, downstairs area door and top of stairs at entry door).
Pool is open Memorial Day to Labor Day. Hours determined by mgmt. Must purchase pool pass from office M-F during business hours. Guests interested in pool access should let host know in advance so that additional info can be provided.
Any guests over 9 total require host pre-approval. Day or Evening visitors must be pre-approved. Parking is limited to 4 vehicles on the drive. No boats or trailers without pre-approval.
We do not permit pets or parties. A $350 fee may be assessed if unauthorized and additional cleaning required. Termination of rental may also occur without refund.
Sea Isle is a community on the west end of Galveston about 15-20 minutes from downtown. There are two beach access areas nearby; one has a parking lot and one allows parking on the beach access area. Cars do not drive on this part of the beach; however, driving on the beach is available at other beaches (San Luis Pass)
Neighborhood park and play area is located approximately a block from the house. The West End Marina restaurants/bars in the neighborhood (live music events on select dates).
Sea Isle is an easy drive into downtown Galveston, (20 min), close to Galveston Island State Park for nature/kayaking, hiking, etc. (approx 6 miles). Great fishing at the San Luis Pass and at other areas.
Note: this is a warm and often humid climate. It is normal to see mosquitoes, flying pests and other native insects in the area and around the home. Regular pest control is maintained for the comfort of our guests. On occasion, guests may find insects in or around the home. As this is common to Galveston, refunds will not be provided should guests encounter these native insects.
Bring sunscreen, bug spray and your beach towels. House towels are for the home and not beach use.
**Our cleaning crew require adequate time to clean the whole home after guests depart. We change all linens, including bed covers, towels, sheets, cases. We may not be able to accommodate early check-ins or late check-outs depending on date.
