About this property

Simple Luxury at an Affordable Price! In Playa Palo Seco

This one bedroom villa is only steps away from the unspoiled beach of Playa Palo Seco. The villa is part of an upscale 23 acre vacation property that is beautifully landscaped and includes a well maintained pool and 24/7 security. 'Immaculate' is the best word to describe the property.

If you enjoy comfort while communing with nature at a private beach that is unspoiled by development, watching monkeys travel the mangroves behind the condo on their way to the beach every day and unforgettable sunsets, this is the place for you. If you're looking for an affordable place to spend a few nights, weeks or months, this villa is perfect. The villa is located in an ideal location if you want to explore the Central Pacific! Sorry:

As of 2023 their is fiber optic cable internet. Plus the road to the villa is fully paved from the main road. Sorry: No pets allowed. And while there is a TV it really only picks up two local Costa Rica stations. It's a "somewhat" smart TV that was purchased in Costa Rica and managing the Apps is a tad difficult.

Paradise in Costa Rica
Steve, is the champion of hosts. He gives you step by step directions how to get his house in great detail. You will not get lost. Tells you about rental cars, restaurants near by, places to go. Wow, his house and property immaculate clean, no bugs, coachroches, lots and lots of windows to see everything so clearly.. the windows were very clean.. you have everything you need to cook. Great pillows, sheets, towels. Great to read a book and listen to the birds. Well done my friend Steve, Thank you again for letting me have a piece of paradise from Costa Rica.. truly, Titan..

Lots To See
Property was small but adequate. The view in the back was great as many birds and animals were there every day. You do need a car to see the area and find good eating places. We stayed for about one month and maybe two weeks would have been enough but that depends on what you want to. If it is peace and quite then a month is great.

Las Flores by the beach
Our host was fantastic and very responsive. The casa was very clean and quiet except for all of the wildlife! The kitchen was well equipped, the bedroom was lovely with an efficient and quiet AC unit. The front and back sitting areas were comfortable and screened. The grounds are beautiful and extremely well maintained. We also enjoyed the swimming pool. The property staff were very nice as well. The location is perfect with just a few minutes walk to an amazing stretch of lovely beach and a very nice restaurant/bar. We were actually sad to leave!

Incredible Place to Relax
Steve's place far exceeded our expectations. The kitchen was very well equipped. It even had plastic containers that could be sealed to take cut up fresh fruit to the beach for breakfast. The bed was large and very comfortable. The AC worked very well to cool down the bedroom while we were sleeping. The internet worked very well. Every fourth day house keeping would change the bathroom towels. Every eighth day they would change the bed linens. The grounds of the villa were exceptional. From the screened in sitting room we could watch iguanas, white faced capuchin monkeys, and numerous bird species. The pool was very large and a wonderful place to spend the late afternoon to cool down. We would often visit with the other guests during the afternoon cool down. We were able to borrow bicycles, boogie boards, and a bbq at no charge. I am 65 years old and the bike ride into Parrita was easy, In Parrita every third day I would pick up fresh fruit, baking, and groceries; and bring them in the basket on the front of the bicycle. The beach was virtually empty. There was hardly a rock to be found on the beach. You could boogie board, walk the beach, or relax sitting under a palm frond roofed cabana. Some of the local Ticos would surf, others would be fishing from the shore 750 m toward the mouth of the Parrita River. There is a restaurant within 250 m of Steve's place serving local cuisine and drinks. If you enjoy peace, nature, and solitude this is the place for you. If you are the partying type than Steve's place is likely too quiet for you.

Peaceful and quaint
Villa las Flores was wonderful. The grounds are beautiful, the pool is awesome and the beach is a 5 minute walk thru palm trees. Steve’s unit had everything we needed. Woke up every morning to monkeys, Macaws and all sounds of nature right at our back door! A great place to relax and enjoy life. It is close enough to the busy areas of Quepos and Manuel Antonio for day trips. A car is recommended as the villa is a ways from anything. Would definitely consider staying there again.

Flores Villa # 4
The property was clean and the air conditioning and internet worked fine. Since the unit is not regularly occupied, some critters such as centipedes, beetles and assorted other insects come to visit. A door sweep under the front and side doors would mitigate this somewhat. Also, there are some little fast moving insects that will come out and begin feeding on any food residue, on the stove or counters in a short amount of time if not kept thoroughly immaculate. A thorough application of Boric acid powder in all corners of the cabinets below the sink, and the pot and pan cabinet, as well as behind the stove would most likely eliminate the problem without resorting to pesticides. I've used Boric acid and it kills all manner of bugs who walk through it. Also, the toilet needs to be updated to a high velocity suction toilet. The American standard is not working properly especially since the waste line does not have a vent pipe which goes through to the roof. Vent pipes naturally increase suction and aid in flushing the toilet. Even with not putting toilet paper down the toilet, it needed to be flushed three times to eliminate all waste. The plunger needed to be employed as well. Toto makes a great toilet which I have in my home and I never have an issue. I highly recommend updating the toilet ASAP with a Toto. The washer has issues, and would not go a full cycle without resetting it, and still did not wet all the clothes and wash properly. In addition, the refrigerator compressor is very loud , and you have to close the door to the kitchen while sleeping, otherwise it will wake you if you are a light sleeper. The proximity to the beach and to Quepos and Manuel Antonio was great, and we enjoyed the abundant wildlife as well. We enjoyed our meals at Clandestino 5 km down the beach at Playa Seco. The Bike and Boogie boards supplied by the complex were great, and the pool at the complex is awesome. Some minor upgrades would make this property pretty flawless. I enjoyed my time there very much.

Beautiful, Private, Quiet villa, close to the beach
loved the private and quiet little property! it was much more spacious than we expected and the screened in patio rooms in front and back of studio were wonderful! we saw large iguanas and monkeys in the backyard, tons of humming birds, the flowers and landscaping was beautiful! The kitchen came well equipped with utensils and even some ingredients/spices etc that people left behind. The beach was a super short walk and it felt like a private beach! You could walk for 40 minutes one direction and only see 2 people! The Costa Rican people were SOO friendly! My friend and I went and as two women we felt very safe! The only things that could have been better were: the AC was not reliable at night (it kept turning off, they sent someone, but it was only resolved for a short period... so we slept in the back patio room with the windows open), the shower was a little messy without a door and the internet was not reliable... however that's what you get when you travel to a foreign country. Overall, we were SUPER happy and would like to return!

Quiet and comfortable on the beach 5 minutes from Parrita
We stayed for 3 nights in the house in May and it was very comfortable and well appointed. During the day we kept the screened windows open and there was always a breeze to cool things down. At night we used the air conditioner set at 78 just to keep it cool enough to sleep. The internet was fast and reliable. The grounds are well maintained and very clean. The gardeners are very helpful and friendly. The pool was warm and inviting. There were plenty of lawn chairs and a kitchen area available beside the pool. The beach is within a couple of minutes walking distance. There is also a nice restaurant close by on the beach road. Overall Villas Las Flores is a well managed and administered development. We plan to come back again and will recommend it to our friends and relatives.

Beautiful home, quiet area with nature all around
This property is a well maintained beautiful place. We loved that we could sit in the screened in porch and watch monkeys swing through the trees. Early in the morning we would have our coffee and listen to the birds singing in the trees. Two morning we were greeted with two Macaws screeching. We would walk down to the pool and spend time visiting with others staying there. People are very friendly. We could see and hear the ocean in the background. At night we would go to the beach and watch the sun go down, some morning we would walk the beach because it was so peaceful and beautiful.

Steve's villa was all we hoped for...beautiful, clean, comfortable and safe. Will return for sure!
While we have traveled extensively throughout the Caribbean and southern Mexico, we never selected Costa Rica always considering it a destination but then leaving it on our "Bucket List" for a later time. Now after spending two weeks at Steve's villa, we regret not visiting this beautiful place a long time ago. From the moment we arrived to the time we had to leave, our time there was one of the most enjoyable vacations we have ever spent. The first reason for this is Villas las Flores and Steve's home. On a short gravel road leading from the town of Parrita toward Playa Palo Seco, we found our "home away from home" in a small neighborhood of other villas nestled in a beautiful location near the beach. Patrick greeted us with our key after which we found the villa was perfect for the two of us...a great screened/windowed back patio where we were entertained daily with the presence of iguanas, butterflies, birds, and monkeys in the back yard. The villa, appointed with beautiful tweak wood cabinetry, furniture and ceilings, great kitchen, clean bathroom, handy washer, A/C for sleeping hours, and a big comfortable bed was perfect. A screened front porch became are perch for morning coffee as we greeted our new found friends and neighbors. The grounds in around all the villas were cared for daily and were absolutely beautiful. The swimming pool area was well maintained and inviting...a marvelous commons area and clean restrooms-a big plus for our next trip when our kids and grandkids come with us! The second reason we loved this place was because of the friendliness of both the local folks who maintained the area and others who either owned a villa or were vacationing there as well. Be prepared to meet some of the warmest and friendliest people in the world! The Ticos quickly became some of our most favor people on the planet...more than happy to help in anyway they can and more than willing to let you practice your Spanish, they're simply delightful. The third reason to stay at Steve's villa is its great location for traveling up and down the west coast on good highways with many sodas along the way serving the best fresh seafood you can find! We'll be back, with our family and will definitely stay at Steve's Villa las Flores.

Perfectly Secluded Getaway!
My girlfriend and I were very pleased with our stay here at Villa #4 in Villas las Flores. The owner was super helpful with our questions and checkin/checkout. The property is well manicured, and has a beautiful pool. It's also right next to the beach which is a huge plus! Each morning we would have our tea and coffee and watch the monkeys and iguanas in the backyard eating from the cashew tree. They provided a simple and free entertainment for us each morning. The property has everything you will need: good wifi, hot water, air conditioning, towels, toiletries, dishes, cookware, etc. There is also a restaurant just around the corner for local food. And Manuel Antonio park is a short drive away if you'd like a jungle adventure. We saw sloths, monkeys, deer, and lots of birds in Manuel Antonio. Jaco is also a short drive away and provides more restaurants, shops, etc. But we were very happy just being in a relaxed location like Playo Palo Seco.

Comfortable accommodations
The house had everything you might need for a weeklong stay. Good wi fi, nice pool, very good restaurant walking distance. Somewhat remote and at least half an hour drive to get anywhere. The beach is long, brown sand, no shade and absolutely not good for swimming even with a board provided. Steve is very good and accommodating host. I would think it's a good option if you don't mind driving to activities, or just want to relax by the pool and enjoy walking the beach.

Great time in a secluded paradise
We have stayed in Palo Seco over New Year and it was just great. Secluded beaches, few people and an amazing variety of nature, plants and animals. The apartment is very well equipped and clean. Breakfast with Iguanas, Capuchins and many different birds is a wonderful way of starting the day. We can highly recommend the place as well as the service provided before and during the stay.

Small, quiet community, close to the beach.
Villas las Flores is a beautiful, quiet community located just outside Parrita, Costa Rica. Playa Palo Seco is directly in front of rental house approximately 500 meters. There is a restaurant called Mar Y Sol about 1 minute from the rental and we brought yellowfin tuna that we caught in Quepos and they cooked it for us. The atmosphere is very relaxing and beautiful. I proposed to my girlfriend on this trip on the beach and she was extatic. I highly recommend Villas las Flores to anyone looking for a beautiful, stress free vacation. The owner Steve is very helpful as well as Patrick, the manager on sight. Thank you for the unforgettable experience.

Nice quiet spot within walking distance of the beach!
Wonderful little Villa community. Good for 2 people. Location is slightly remote and not near your typical "bustling touristy area" You can walk to the lovely black sand beach and we saw monkeys on 3 different days hanging around the area. There is a nice pool to swim in if the ocean is too rough or you just feel like a calm swim. We would recomend renting a car if you're staying here and planning on doing significant sight seeing as the location is somewhat remote and we required a taxi to get us to and from to the bus terminal most days. You can rent a car at the villa's administration and it will be brought to you which is nice. Would definitely stay again. Great for a quiet beach vacation.

Perfect Stay
My spouse and I stayed at this lovely little villa for two weeks and could not have been more pleased. If the house had been house smaller, in some stage of disrepair, and dirtier, and I still would have been satisfied, so it really exceeded my expectations and the price was perfect. The house itself is charming and comfortable, with AC, internet, and other luxuries, including a washing machine which was very helpful. As a couple who preferred to do our own cooking, the kitchen was a blessing--fully stocked with pots, pans, sharp knives and other implements, a large fridge with ice trays, functional stove and oven, and plenty of room to move around. Everything was clean well cared for and felt relatively new. The large windows in the sun porch were wonderful for wildlife spotting and letting the light in. The location of the villas was far enough off the beaten path to suit our desire for seclusion but close enough to town and city centers that we never had to go too far for needs like groceries, banks, tourist spots, etc. The Palo Seco beach is extremely close to the villas (about a 2 minute walk) and is beautiful, clean, and good for swimming (just watch for those rip tides), and the lovely pool at the villas was always open and was great for late night swims. The owner of this particular apartment was always accessible and helpful, providing accurate and detailed directions and information about the villa and surrounding areas, and the staff of the villas were always friendly and available for any needs we had. If we ever stay in that part of Costa Rica again we will absolutely try to stay here. We had a phenomenal trip due in no small part to our comfortable stay. I really have no complaints.

Amazing Stay in Costa Rica
We stayed at the condo the week of Christmas for our honeymoon. The condo is off the beaten path, safe, and still walking distance to the beach. Also includes a pool. Condo was clean and kitchen was equipped with plenty of utensils. We cooked most breakfasts and dinners at the condo. Loved that Palo Seco is secluded but still close distance to more tourist areas like Manuel Antonio. Highly Recommended!
