We loved our stay here. We walked to Central Market and it was very centralized location for site seeing of Lancaster County. It was very clean, communication was great and very prompt. I recommend this place if staying on Lancaster and I am sure we will be back.
Very clean house with great sleeping arrangements. Included towels and clean sheets. Nice living room and patio out back for the group to hang out in. Close walk to downtown as well!
Great property with historical charm. The house is well-appointed, AC works great, comfortable beds. Small house but enough space for our party of 3 adults.
Street parking only and this can be a challenge since the house is in the downtown area of Lancaster. Overall, we had a very nice stay.
Me and my friends stayed at this home for several days in August 2024 when we came to visit our friend who was starring in a play at the Dutch Apple. The home was very clean and conveniently located. I never struggled to find street parking. The check in and check out process was seamless and the host was very responsive. It was a wonderful place to stay and I will likely stay again in the future.
The house was clean and fully stocked with all supplies. Hope kept variety of organic sugar for coffee and tea, which I have enjoyed!
We enjoyed staying there. Shops were at walking distance. Hope responded for any question, as quickly as she can.
Thank you Hope!!!
My family of five (kids ages 5, 8 and 11) had a great stay at Hope’s lovely and modern home. It was a great location to visit Amish, Dutch Wonderland, and do a day trip to Gettysburg. Street parking right outside was readily available. Cute backyard area. There are wooden stairs leading up to the bedrooms (2 on second floor) and one attic bedroom) to be aware of if you have very little children. Thanks for a wonderful stay!
The house is a very nice house inside. the only reason I gave 4 stars for location, was the street parking. We usually were able to park right in front of the house, but the traffic going by, made it a little scary getting in an out of the car (we are seniors, and don't always move that fast). We liked that we didn't have to drive into the city and try to park there. It was about a 10 minute walk to the Central Market, and the other shops in that area. Visitor center was also located right by the Central Market.

What a headache!!
For the money that I paid to stay here, not worth it. Upon arrival, the air conditioning was out and it was 85° in the house. Had to scramble to find a hotel for the first night stay. The neighborhood, not the greatest. Due to the new bottle shop next-door, the demographic was not very enticing. Also, a glitch in the VRBO system had me dealing with the owner for nearly 2 out of my three day stay. Very stressful….Thanks, but no thanks. I would stay somewhere else.
My husband, daughter, and three children were scheduled to stay at this property for two nights. After diving around a large area surrounding the property twice for an hour each time, we were unable to find a parking place for one, much less two, cars. We could not stay at a property we were unable to access. After trying multiple options, we had to stay at an expensive hotel. The owner refused to refund any of our money other than the cleaning fee (yet to be returned). I strongly urge others not to stay at this property because of the questionable location. I have rented many VRBOs and have never had such a terrible experience and unreasonable hosts.
The house was very well-kept and clean. It was tastefully furnished and had all the expected amenities. Street parking is available outside the home, and I did not have trouble finding nearby parking spots. Unfortunately, the house is on a very busy street. The street is very noisy, but noises seem to die off after 10:30. I am not positive it happened at the residence, but my rear driver's side bumper was damaged when the vehicle was parked. This is the corner of the vehicle exposed to traffic. Unfortunately, I didn't notice it until I got home.
The house is about a 20-minute walk to downtown Lancaster and the Central Market. However, if you take the most direct route, the walk is through a rougher neighborhood with uneven sidewalks and lots of litter. For future visits, I would strongly recommended walking two blocks north to W Chestnut Street before heading east to downtown. This is a little longer but a MUCH nicer walk.
In general, I wasn't expecting the house to be in such a multi-cultural neighborhood. There are lots of benefits, such as a amazing Peruvian Restaurant and a Craft Beer store close to the house. But it isn't ideal for a family with young kids.
Overall, I think this house provides a wonderful space for young adults looking for a more urban experience. I would readily recommend it to my younger coworkers and their friends. The location was less appropriate for my family with younger kids.
