About this property
Detroit's Riverside Hideaway: Thoughtfully designed to bring everyone together.
Unwind at this unique and tranquil getaway in the city. This 1906 Canal Home has been thoughtfully designed to bring your group of friends or big family together. In the city, with secluded retreat vibes, it's the best of both worlds. Recognized by the Detroit News as one of Michigan's Dream Homes, there is plenty to enjoy inside and out.
Enjoy the novel and cozy inside spaces around every corner, with some cheeky European flare. You'll love the stand-out grand dining room with amusing decor and seating for 12. The kitchen is a kitschy, cozy space with high top seating for drinks and snacks with 2 walls of windows to overlook canal activity. The full kitchen with new smart appliances is ready for the serious chefs who want to cook some great meals for everyone at home.
The distinct bedrooms have green tea memory foam mattresses, darkening curtains, and smart TV’s for some peaceful alone time for those introverts who just need some space from all that gathering fun.
Step out one of the doors to the many outdoor gathering spaces. The front porch provides great views of the Detroit River. Two decks with seating and BBQ, pebble patio, yard + canal. The wrap around yard is surrounded by the canal and complete with yard games. Enjoy a backyard bbq on the deck and pebble patio with cafe lights for evening fun, watching the kayakers paddle by. Or for a more private gathering, enjoy the large side deck surrounded by trees. Sip your favorite beverage in the mornings on the front porch overlooking the Detroit River, watching the tanker ships pass by. Or bring your own boat and kayaks to launch just down the street for canal cruising, Detroit River and Lake St Clair access. Dock also available on the property.
There's plenty to do in the surrounding area. Just a few minutes to delicious dining, wine shops, kayak tours, children's bookstore, pizzeria, and brewery to name a few. And if you want to venture downtown, follow the river straight down Jefferson St.

About the host
Hosted by Bobby

I live locally, here in Detroit. It's such a vibrant city with rich history, and I'm inspired by the people living here or just coming to support the city.
Why they chose this property
This is such a sweet pocket in Detroit- It's a tranquil spot nestled on a technical island, but you can drive here. But it's still close to lots of happenings and walkable to an amazing restaurant and bar.
What makes this property unique
Truly one of a kind in this city. It's a big house that accommodates many people, and has so many peaceful, functional outdoor spaces. This is the spot to be when you want to be in the city, but feel like you're a little removed.
