About this property

Enchanting Forest Estate

Lauren Run Estate offers a full three bedroom house, plus a full one bedroom Suite with it’s own entrance. The house floats among the trees in this forest hideaway. The trickling sounds of beautiful Laurel Run creek serenades throughout, providing a soothing natural soundscape. Decorated with magnificent works of art and filled with musical instruments, this wondrous setting is ideal for stimulating a flow of creativity, or just relaxing with friends and family.

Located in the heart of the Pocono Mountains, only 2.5 hours from NYC, six foot windows throughout the house's main floor provide a mesmerizing view of the forest and creek. Being built onto the side of the mountain, the house appears to float among the trees.

As you enter to your left you’ll come to a cozy gathering room with a baby grand piano with seating to enjoy the wood burning soap stone stove and a hearth built from the stones from the surrounding area. Or one can meditate in a wistfully swinging egg chair, peacefully do some yoga in front of the golden gong, or just have a family game night with our collection of classic board games as you feel the warmth of the fireplace.

To your right, there
is a chef’s sized kitchen with a large granite island, two sinks, and abundant counter space and kitchen tools to make any specialty. Including a coffee/tea station with all the essential amenities. The island is suitable for meal prep, a casual dining table, or just hanging out for friendly conversation. The kitchen also offers a stove, dishwasher, garbage disposal, microwave, toaster, popcorn maker, griddle, blender, coffee maker, and electric water kettle.

Beyond the kitchen you'll enter the main living room and entertainment area. You’ll be able to relax and unwind on the chaise lounge, couch, or the modern circular chair in front of another row of seven foot windows looking out into the forest. Overhead two skylights bring in sunlight and offer a window to the sky and stars.

Or have movie night with the large retractable projector screen and state of the art sound bar. For your viewing pleasure you may choose from hundreds of DVDs, Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Hulu. One can also listen to music or hear the news through Echo devices located in the kitchen and bedrooms. Just say "Alexa play..."

The charming dining area is next to the living room and features an antique dining table and chairs created by a local craftsmen. The table seats seven, 4 chairs and a bench. The table is surrounded by windows that look out onto Laurel Run Creek.

As you circle around back through the hearth room, you’ll discover the office area with desk, computer, printer, and basic office supplies. Seated in the comfy high-back office chair, your video meeting background can be a stunning forest view. Camera lights are available if you wish to present a more polished image for your online meetings. Also in the office, you can enjoy some vinyl with a turnable and old fashioned hi-fi stereo system.

For your reading pleasure the office bookshelves are filled with both classic and modern fiction, as well as books on the arts, history, philosophy, children's books, and poetry.

This is a musical home with many instruments, if you feel moved we welcome you to play and discover these sounds including a collection of singing bowls. Musical instruments include the baby grand piano, an electronic drum kit, Farfisa and Hammond organs, an acoustic guitar, and lots of fun and exotic percussion instruments. We ask that guests treat all musical instruments with love and care.

Off of the office is a full bathroom with shower and Bedroom 3, which is a stylish room with deep blue walls and and vivid yellow night stands. The room features a uniquely designed bed and a comfortable wooden rocking chair to enjoy the idyllic mountain view. The room also leads to the upper deck, where one can enjoy the teak wood sitting table and listen to the cascading stream and falls and perhaps catch a glimpse of some forest creatures.

Upstairs a barn
door leads to the master bedroom, a serene space with rustic country windows to enjoy perched forest views. The room features a 65-inch widescreen TV, DVD payer, and air conditioning unit.

From there is a stylish bathroom with a shower and tub.

The second bedroom is perfect for kids with a 3-bed bunk bed, (full bottom, twin bunk, twin trundle). There are books, toys, games, and a fun playroom closet. The natural light into this room is from the skylights and wall window that looks down into the main living room area. The room is brought to life with a fun, wall-sized painting of colorful flowers, and a pretty, lotus flower wall light that radiates beguiling blue rays of lights.

There is also a virtual reality headset that provides fascinating games for both kids and adults.

The first floor apartment features a large living room in which a sectional-couch looks out through 6-foot windows that provide a majestic mid-level view of the forest and stream below. The sectional is easily converted into a full-sized comfortable bed.

The dining table is a charming wood antique that seats four.

Outside the rear door you’ll get even closer to the creek where you can sit on the wooden swing or yard furniture, as you bask in the smells and sounds of the forest, and the rush of the cascading creek and min-falls flowing by. There is also a fire pit and wood to make s'mores, relax, and share a story or two.

The full kitchen includes refrigerator, dishwasher, abundant counter and cupboard space, a lovely breakfast bar, microwave, french press coffee maker, blender, and many other extras.

The bedroom/entertainment room offers a gas fireplace, a full couch, a reading nook, a 50-inch television with Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney plus, Paramount Plus, Hulu, and Peacock TV. There is also a bookshelf filled with popular and classic fiction, children's books, and books on the arts, history, and biographies.

The bathroom features a large walk-in shower, and is styled with an eye-popping Mid-Century Modern design. Next to the bathroom is a full washer and dryer for your laundering needs.

The sparkling clean water is provided thanks to an Aquasana ultraviolet filtration system.

The property is kept cool and comfortable throughout the summer thanks to the abundant tree coverage, cool mountain breezes, and the proximity to the creek. When temperatures get really hot, there are air conditioning units on the 2nd and third floors, as well as portable fans.

This is a special place to create memories with family and friends and visit some of the many surrounding sites and places that make the Pocono Mountains special. And filled with as much or little to do as you’d like, we hope you’ll come away after a visit as relaxed and renewed as we do here.

Relax and rejuvenate
We just returned from a weekend renting this home . The suite is on the first level of this home. The photos are beautiful on VRBO but nothing is like stepping into this eclectic, peaceful and well equipped home. The music room was my favorite. Both kitchens had every appliance known to man and wonderful, top name, coffee and tea, spices… You name it they have it. We spent most of our time outdoors and had great conversations and s’mores down at the fire pit. Highly recommend.

A wonderful retreat to nature!
This house was exactly what I expected. It was super clean, beautiful, and functional, and perfect for my family (elderly parents, toddler, & baby included!). We loved hearing the trickling creek outside our windows at all times and sitting and playing by the creek. There are playgrounds, parks, and a lake nearby. I highly recommend this getaway to families, musicians, and artists looking for a quiet escape!
