A relaxing vacation for our family. The house was exactly as described. It's located in a very quiet area with an exceptional view of the lake. The desk area off the kitchen is conveniently located so you can take in the view while getting a little work done. The back area was great for yard games. The house does have 2 small steps however, our son (uses forearm crutches) was able to navigate them easily. We enjoyed some great hikes nearby. Contact with the owner for questions was easy and they were quick to respond. We would happily return to this rental.
Perfect accomodations and convenient location to Hot Springs with a beautiful view.

Just okay...
If 3 stars is "OK" as VRBO suggests, then I'm sharing this as an honest review. When we first turned onto the road, we thought we were in the wrong location as the first thing you see is what appears to be a junkyard for old boat docks. From the pictures, this homes looks like it is in a nice private location, but the homes on either side are actually quite close. There is a bright security light shining into the bedrooms and master bathroom which couldn't be turned off. It made me wonder about the location if such a light is required. Within our first 24 hours, I had killed a couple of spiders and two sizeable roaches in the main bedroom. These are some of the reasons for my "Cleanliness" and "Location" ratings.
On the positive side, the cabinets were well-stocked with dishes, silverware, and anything else you would want. The fire pit was nice with plenty of firewood. The furniture inside was comfortable, but the outside sofa was quite dirty. The dock with the chairs is nice, but you have to be careful of the wires used to keep the chairs from blowing away.
We've used VRBO 5-6 times in the past. Typically, homes are "as advertised" or a little better; however, our experience with this home was that it looks better in pictures than in-person. This is the first time I have been disappointed and written a negative review. For the same amount of money, we have stayed at much nicer homes with much better locations.
Great house on the water. Not boat trailer friendly.
We really enjoyed the stay. The host was great and very helpful. We had an AC issue when we arrived and she immediately had someone en route who got it fixed very quick. She was also full of information and answered any questions that I had.
The only downfall to this home that I didn’t see in the ad but the host did make us aware of is The house is on a dead end and it’s impossible to turn a boat trailer around. If you drive to the house prior to launching your boat, like it did even after she told me, you’ll have to back all the way back up the road. There are marinas that will store your trailer for you after you launch and during your stay. I would highly recommend that.
Overall we had a great experience and will definitely consider staying here again.
It was very nice
We had a problem turning around in the dead end driveway
The problem was our boat
Manager told us before we went
We knew the issue and sure enough we dealt with it
Lots of fun
We absolutely loved our stay, and this property is perfectly set up for a young family. My husband and I stayed with our three young children (3,5,7) over the 4th of July, and there was no shortage of amenities that suited all of us. It wasn't listed, but there was an even an entire toy/game closet that the children loved! Plenty of space to spread out, but no one was isolated from the group. The older kids also loved the bunk room! We all enjoyed spending the evenings on the swim platform, and the covered dock was great to pull up for a break off of the lake. We also enjoyed the fire pit, as we cooked out hot dogs and smores while watching the fireworks over the lake on the 4th of July. The house is also located incredibly close to the grocery store for quick necessities, and we had great access to several activities, marinas, and restaurants. 10/10 vacation!
We had a great time celebrating Father's Day and my Father's 70th birthday. The property was clean and accurate from the description. Everything to cook and grill was available on site and my parents enjoyed the coffee station. We look forward to coming back!
We had a great vacation which included fishing, boating, swimming and relaxing around the fire pit. The house was well stocked and clean, and very close to boat rental places and tourist areas. The only thing that could be improved is the deck area: the furniture was not so great and there were many spiders.
We had a great stay, loved the location right on the lake with a large yard, deck, and fun fire pit outside. Inside we were comfortable in each room, kids loved the bunk beds and toys. Was a great place to celebrate my mom's birthday and watch the eclipse - thanks Kristin!
