The home is set on a stunning piece of land…. Tucked away with access to bikes and walking trails. The kitchen was equipped with anything we would have needed for our month long stay. While the stay was work related, we still were able to enjoy a quiet afternoon reading or lounging outside. I couldn’t recommend this house and its hosts more! Stay here. It’s a slice of heaven!
Had a great stay with wife and kids for a week.
House had everything we needed.
Clean and well kept and the hosts were communicative. Very centrally located. Would stay again!
We enjoyed our two weeks' vacation at Mark & Tess home. It is lovely with everything that you need. Nestled in the woods with a wonderful deck and hammock to enjoy the outdoors. Love the outside shower. The decor is lovely with many special pieces of artwork throughout the home. Very warm, comfortable and we relaxed and enjoyed our time with the family on the island.
The house is warm, comfortable, clean, cozy yet spacious. Three good sized bedrooms, 1 down, 2 up. New appliances in kitchen & washer & dryer. They have everything you need there - very well stocked. Beautiful large deck that we enjoyed eating meals at & relaxing, Nicest owners, we communicated with them easily by email & even ended up meeting them. Such nice accommodating people. I’d go back again for sure!
This is the perfect vacation home! They have considered every detail of comfort and the setting is perfect. The trees are gorgeous and the place is quite secluded. The location on the island is perfect with easy access to everything. The bike path and borrowed bikes are a bonus and you will want to live on their spacious deck or in their hammock. Thank you, Tess and Mark, for sharing your slice of heaven!
My family, including two standard poodles, had a wonderful time at this lovely house.
It is exactly as described, but better.
Great books to read. Beautiful paintings on the walls. When we traveled around the island we tried to guess which areas were the inspiration for the art work.
Our time together on vacation is very special to us and this special house will now be part of our summer memories.
We enjoyed our return trip to MV and relaxed at Mark’s home, watching deer on the property in the evening and exploring Lamberts Cove where we had never been able to access previously. The easy access to the bike paths from the house was a huge plus for us as was the wonderful deck and outdoor shower! Updated appliances made cooking and cleaning easy. Mark was super responsive and a most gracious host. We’d be happy to stay again!
We stayed at this beautiful home for a week with a short notice reservation which Mark & Tess accommodated just a few days before we arrived. Mark was in contact and he suggested taking advantage of his trustees membership...we loved Long Point Beach and Lambert's Cove Beach for sunsets. Everyone loved relaxing in the hammock and having the outside shower was great after the beach. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to make our meals and we loved to just sit outside with our coffee on the deck watching the deer & birds in the morning. Thank you for having us! We will be back soon!
We enjoyed our two weeks In West Tisbury in this well laid out property. The open plan main floor includes A very well stocked kitchen, excellent appliances, including a Bosch dishwasher. The living dining area is very comfortable and practical. There is a lovely deck to the front of the house with a long dining table, ready for beautiful summer dinners, or dinner parties. The only drawbacks are that linens and towels, which the owner is clear to advise, are in short supply and must be laundered dried and returned to the closets before leaving. The house could be cleaned more thoroughly between guests, although the living area and kitchen were spotless on arrival. The owner could not have been more helpful during our stay

Peaceful, Restful, Relaxing
This home, off a quiet lane in West Tisbury, is an absolute jewel. We arrived with little and needed little. Equipped with all the staples and supplies needed, we quickly made ourselves at home. We woke to birdsong and with the sun peaking through the window shades. We sipped coffee while deer quietly made their way across the yard. The property, proximal to the bike path and walking trails of the Manuel F. Correllius Forest, offered the best of both worlds, a short drive to everything but far enough away from civilization to allow a gentle swing (with a book) in the hammock or cheese, crackers and wine on the deck at 4:00. This was a wonderful place for a reunion between my college friend and I. Definitely a special place.
Quiet idyllic spot close to shopping and bike trails. Even on the hotter days, it seemed there was always a breeze. Lovely house, inside and out. We loved grilling and hanging out on the back deck. The kitchen was well equipped and we loved the outdoor shower. Would absolutely stay here again!
Everything was perfect. The location, the house, and Mark made himself available if there were any needs.

Great Escape
The tranquil location in the wilderness was exactly what we were looking for, the owners were incredibly responsive, and the house was well stocked. In fact, the house had too many supplies making it difficult for us to unpack our belongings in the closets and cabinets.
My sisters and I went to the Vineyard to celebrate my 40th birthday on 7/2. We had an amazing time! Mark and Tess were intentional about making the accommodations feel like a home and we found everything as it was listed in the description. There were detailed notes throughout the house to make our stay smooth and to help us learn about information about various resources as well as things to do in the town.
When I needed to reach out, Mark was literally a phone call away.
We enjoyed ourselves so much that we definitely plan to come again next year.
Wonderful Holiday Weekend - A Beautiful Home in Nature
My girlfriend and I spent 4 days at Mark's home. It was a beautiful house, tucked away in a truly stunning part of the island. Breakfast on the patio was stunning, biking to Lambert's cove was easy and the best beach on the island. Would very gladly stay here again the next time we visit - thank you Mark!
Thanks to Mark and Tess for sharing their charming home with our family. It was such a great get away. So peaceful. Love the deck for outside eating. Near the bike paths. Quiet. Great set up. Cool breezes at night. Nicely stocked home with all the things you could need (beach chairs, bikes, etc). We hope to make it back some day!
Very cozy home nestled in a wooded environment - exactly what we were looking for. We all had a wonderful experience here and would recommend it if you're looking for a tranquil yet convenient location to spend some time on the island.

Why they chose this property
We have a long history with Martha's Vineyard and love the island. We have owned this property for 30 years and love the quiet, yet convenient location. Although it is not a large house, the layout and flow supports a comfortable stay for up to 6 people. We use the house for our vacations and therefore keep it in good condition. We also try to keep the house uncluttered and generic-enough so that renters do not feel like they are in someone elses' home... We want our guests to feel 'at home'. We have appreciated many return renters... and encourage folks to contact us early in the season to have a choice of dates.
What makes this property unique
We love the beach (Lambert's Cove, Long Point, Gay Head), art galleries, Chilmark Flea Market, Alley's Store, kayaking, hiking, sitting on our deck, eating out and cooking.
