Touchdown’s Mountaintop Lookout is truly on the top of a mountain and is surrounded by the natural splendor of the Great Smoky Mountains. With three bedrooms and three bathrooms, this cabin is a glorious place to make your “home away from home.” The cabin has cozy furnishings, comfortable beds, and several tables to dine at (indoors or outdoors), but what really sets it apart from other cabins is a game room that boasts a skee-ball machine, 800 game multi-cade, an air hockey table, television, and wet bar. There are also board games, puzzles, and cards for a fantastic cabin game night.
Three balconies overlook 180 degree mountain views that include downtown Gatlinburg, Anakeesta, and Over Gatlinburg. Enjoy your coffee on the deck in a comfy rocker, or in a steaming hot tub. During the summer time, enjoy the community swimming pool that guests have access to.
Touchdown’s Mountaintop Lookout has a bathroom and a bedroom on each of its three floors. The spacious primary suite, which makes up the entire loft level, is nothing short of stunning. Along with a king-size bed, television, and secret Scrabble gaming area, it has a writing desk that overlooks the mountains, ideal for catching up on emails or surfing the web via the free WiFi to plan your next day’s adventures. And wait until you see the view you’ll wake up to, courtesy of the panoramic windows! The en-suite bathroom boasts a shower and jetted tub, which you’ll especially appreciate when you return from a day of hiking, skiing, or white water rafting.
The other two bedrooms each have a queen-size bed, a bathroom, and like the rest of the cabin, lustrous wood-planked walls, floors, and ceilings. All three floors boast oversize windows and balconies, enabling you to savor the beauty of the mountains and woodlands. The living area’s sofas and armchair are as comfy as they are elegant—perfect for watching a movie or playing games.
Outdoors, keep your eyes open for falcons and eagles soaring through the seemingly endless skies, chipmunks, squirrels, and, or course, bears. There is a charcoal grill available for your grilling needs, and a hot tub on the lowest deck with privacy fencing. There is also a seasonal swimming pool available for your use.
Touchdown’s Mountaintop Lookout is such a delightful place to be, you may find it tough to pry yourself away. However, you’ll definitely want to visit the Great Smoky Mountains National Park while you’re here—and it’s only minutes away.
