Excellent place

This is our 2nd time staying at The Groveland Guesthouse. The entire house is amazing, but we especially loved the well appointed kitchen. We are planning on staying here again in the future.

Perfect house - perfect location

We are 4 teachers who stayed here while attending a conference in Peoria. The house was lovely - we each had our own bedroom and a very nice kitchen and family room to share. It was literally an easy 15 minute drive to the civic center downtown. The price made it cost effective-we saved money compared to each having a hotel room for 3 nights. Definitely hoping to be back next year!

This is an truly lovely property. The hosts were very kind and welcoming. The house is roomy and comfortable with great views. And it has access to lots of delivery places in case you don't want to leave. We will definitely stay here again.

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was just as described, very clean and perfect for what we needed. The house was beautifully decorated for the holiday. The owners were very friendly and thoughtful. Everything in the home was labeled with instructions and anything you need is provided. We have rented a lot of homes in the past for the holidays and usually have to pack up our kitchen but not this time. The check in process was extremely easy. I highly recommend this beautiful home and would definitely stay there again!!

Amazing Hospitality

Came in for a family wedding. Our hosts were just wonderful. The property met our needs to the T and we were all able to gather together. All the comforts and supplies of home, warm and inviting - with fresh farm eggs and beautiful dahlia and cosmo arrangements added just the right touch. All communications quickly responded to, this property is a gem and we will be back for sure. Thank you for sharing your VRBO with us.

Perfect VRBO

I can’t say enough about this property. Eight family members from 3 states came together for Thanksgiving. I think I can say that this is the best-equipped VRBO that we’ve ever stayed at. I brought cooking things along that I really didn’t need to bring. Two granddaughters were enchanted with the property with (at least) chickens and goats to visit, but cold weather prevented much exploration of the property. Beds, pillows and furniture were very comfortable. Communication with host was great. Thank you!

Great Accommodations

Stayed multiple days. Property and house very well maintained. House had all the conveniences of home and everything was well labeled. Kitchen was amazing! Kids enjoyed playing on swingset and seeing the chickens and goats next door. Would stay there again.

A beautiful setting

We loved our stay. The home is very spacious and cozy! Very well stocked, if we forgot something they had it. The special touch of fresh cut flowers in each room was so nice! We rent a lot of homes throughout the year and this one is our favorite! Thank You for everything! We will be back 😊

Amazing place!

This is a really unique and cool place to stay. It is set way back from the road and has plenty of private space outside to enjoy. The inside of the house is super clean and everything is labeled and easy to find. The hosts were great - friendly, easy to communicate with, and made us feel welcome. The check in and check out processes couldn't have been easier. The location is really close to a bunch of great disc golf courses and a good BBQ joint. Couldn't ask for more. We plan to come back for sure.

Best stay in the Peoria area

We have been going to the Peoria area for the past 15 years and this is by far the best house we have rented. The house was very clean, and the kitchen had everything you needed to make a meal. Brent and Bethany went out of their way to make sure we had a great stay at their place. We are going to rebook this place again next year. If you are looking for a place to stay in the Peoria area, I would stop looking and book this place. Thanks again Brent and Bethany for letting us stay at your place!

Five star all the way!

From the moment I walked in I could tell it was going to be great. They have thought of everything you could possibly need. Everything was labeled clearly with great directions where needed. This was the cleanest VRBO I have ever stayed in. There were also many extras like fresh flowers and great coffee provided. This was the perfect accommodation for our extended family. We cooked multiple meals there and found everything we needed to prepare and serve the meals. Communication was great. Highly recommend!!

Great Family Get Away!

This house has everything we need as a home away from home. The kitchen was fully stocked. We love to cook and usually bring pots and pans with us, but we did not need them! We were treated to fresh eggs and garden produce (so much rhubarb!). The house was comfortable for all 6 adults and 2 children with plenty of space to park our vehicles. Our granddaughters loved the swings, the chickens, the goats, as well as the huge yard! The owners were very accommodating and friendly. We appreciated the labels and information on the cupboards/appliances. They really thought of everything! There was plenty to do in the area. Some of our favorites include Neumann Park (a petting zoo), Bike Town, Kartville (go-carts, miniature golf, dune buggy's and bumper boats), Elevate Trampoline Park, & Shopping. My favorite was the Cathedral and visiting the tomb of Archbishop Fulton Sheen. My husband loved going to the river to kayak. We really enjoyed our stay!

OUR FAVORITE STAY YET!!

First off. We stay somewhere once a month for work. Without question this was our favorite experience yet. The home is beautiful. Inside & out. Sits on 3 acres. When we arrived there were fresh pears, apples & eggs all from their property waiting for us. They had their favorite ground coffee, which was amazing. It was everything & more. Brent & Bethany are genuinely, some of the kindest people I’ve meet. They took the best care of us. And went above & beyond. Recommend this stay to everyone looking to stay in the area.

This is a gem!

We have stayed at a bunch of houses in and around Peoria, Morton and Washington area. This is a Very clean home and very nice owners! They will bend over backwards for you. They had fresh cut flowers in the house and eggs from their farm and other nice accommodations and extras you just don’t get. We had travel issues so they let my teenager check in before we even got there! Very accommodating not many places in Central Illinois that actually know what they are doing, These folks got it going on. We used to own two vacation rentals down by Tablerock lake in Missouri they were very busy and successful so we know what to look for, if they need help we got some good resources too, Brent call us anytime. This place is a no brainer, when we visit in Illinois they will be our first choice! Great job!

Great stay half way between Chicago and St Louis

This house and the owners are amazing. The house is part of a small farm. The owners make you feel welcome immediately. I loved the greeting. They gave me a tour of the house and the property. They left so many little touches, it’s clear they want guests to love being there. I could see two families of four loving the house and yard. Plenty of space inside, big kitchen, living room, outdoor patio, huge showers, a tub. Big island in the kitchen furnished with everything you need. Big yard and swings for kids. There are goats and chickens, exciting if you have little ones. House is set way back off the road and protected with tall hedge for privacy. The owners planted a nice garden in the back. Flowers all around the outside of the house bring more cheer to this home. The owners gave me a dining tip - Kemp 208 in Morton. We loved that restaurant. Looking for a greasy spoon? Woodys is a short walk from the house. Peoria is a few minutes away. You can try the Grand View Drive to enjoy Peoria Lake. The Riverfront Museum with its planetarium is fun for young and old. Also check out the restaurant Ardor by the river. Delicious bread. I loved the Duck Frites. Bethany and Brent picked apples from their Apple tree and left fresh eggs from their hens in the fridge. They were so friendly and sweet to us. I loved the place before even setting a foot in the house, because they are so kind and welcoming. My only regret is I had to leave.

The best part of Groveland is that you get to experience all the benefits of a tiny country town but you are about 15 minutes away from so many big city amenities.

What makes this property unique

This property is unique because it is connected to one of the very first farms in Groveland. This homestead was given the name "Farm Grove" years ago and we just love it! We live in the original Farmhouse just up the driveway that was built in1836. There is also an enormous restored Barn where our wonderful neighbors reside. They maintain the adorable Groveland Chapel that was built on the original farm and is patterned after a chapel on the historic register near Chicago. The original farm has since been divided and that is how we have come to acquire it. The Groveland Guesthouse was built in the very back of the property in 2015. The original owner surrounded the home with Pine trees, Spruce, Wild Cherry, Hazelnuts, Black Walnut, and Maples. Next to the guest house is big red barn. We have 2 dairy goats, 18 chickens for eggs, and we raise our meat birds in the spring and summer. Feel free to engage with our farm animals or you can just simply enjoy the peace of the guesthouse and it's own property. It is up to you. We just hope that you will see like we do, that there is something truly special about this place.
