Great stay close to town

We had a boat docked in town, a dog and bikes. It was great to stay in a comfortable place at night where we had room to spread out and easy access to town.

Wonderful property

The carriage house was absolutely lovely. Location is handy to Kennebunkport shops and restaurants and within a couple of miles of the beaches. But best of all, the accommodations are modern- spotless- on a stunning property...and the hosts are incredible. This is a five star place for sure!!

Cute, comfortable apartment with friendly hosts!

The apartment is clean, pleasant and comfortable. The hosts were very welcoming and invited us to an art show opening at their gallery. There is a big field for the dogs to use in the back of the property.

Perfection in Perfect Maine!

We could not have enjoyed our stay at Arundel Farm more! Julie and Paul are the consummate hosts! They have thought of everything you may need before you think of it yourself. The carriage house is spacious, spotless, and special. And the bed is as comfortable as any I have ever had. As if that wasn't enough we adored getting to know Julie and Paul. They are living the life and we felt truly lucky to borrow a little slice of it for our perfect week in Maine. Already dreaming of returning one day....

Perfect!

Our stay couldn't have been better. From the minute we arrived, the hosts, Julie and Paul, made us feel right at home. The carriage house was in a beautiful country setting, but only 1 1/2 miles to the main street of Kennebunkport. The apartment itself was very clean, comfortable and was equipped with everything we needed. The furnishings, dishes and linens were first rate. Close by were beaches, lots of restaurants, pubs, museums, and hiking and biking paths. Best of all was a nearby supermarket that steamed and cracked fresh lobsters at a fraction of the cost of ordering them at a restaurant. Thank you so much, Julie and Paul for a wonderful vacation! Our only regret was that we could not stay longer.

We thoroughly enjoyed Arundel Farm

The two of us, accompanied by our small dog, thoroughly enjoyed our several week stay at this beautiful location. It is truly a unique and scenic property with its well preserved and historic main house, and beautifully maintained surrounding grounds including wildflowers, a pond, and even a horse barn and paddock. The detached Carriage House worked very well for us. Taking advantage of our central location and our outdoor interests , we walked almost daily to Dock Square in Kennebunkport, and enjoyed several and varied bike routes throughout the Town, and surrounding coastal area. We easily day tripped to explore either Portland to the north, or Portsmouth NH to the south…each only about a half hour drive from the location, and both interesting to visit. .. There are several enjoyable golf courses in the immediate area that we played, and we also explored several local beaches as well. There is no shortage of excellent restaurants in the surrounding area. We counted no fewer that 20 that we visited and must say that we liked them all . The Owners could not have been more hospitable. They were both gracious and accommodating, and they made us feel as if we were at home. Thank you both and we look forward to returning.

Great Property and Great Location! Perfect!

We stayed in the Carriage House for our 20th anniversary. We are so happy we found this rental! The owners are wonderful and very welcoming, making the rental experience very comfortable. This is a beautiful property and the carriage house apartment is amazing! Very clean and all the comforts of home. We stayed with our 12 year old daughter and our dog. The sofa bed worked great for our daughter. We had plenty of room and privacy. We loved the location - close to everything, yet far enough away to enjoy the quiet country feel. We had a great week enjoying the beach and town, and especially the First Chance Whale Watch. Love the area and truly loved this rental! We look forward to staying here again when we visit, and have recommended it to family and friends who plan to visit. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Fantastic property, couple and vacation experience

Wow. We hesitated to write a rave review given we don't want this gem to become unavailable for our future vacations. Julie and Paul are kind, wonderful, hands-off, accommodating hosts. Good people gravitate to good people. Thus all the positive reviews. The stay was perfect. Spacious, beautifully and simply decorated, amazing property and ability to come and go as we pleased. No hassle. No fuss. We brought our old boxer rescue and newborn baby. The washer/dryer and kitchen was key for us. As was the dog-friendly aspect of the rental. All worked out perfectly. We'd be happy to recommend Julie and Steve and the carriage house to anyone. But you have to promise to keep this lil gem a secret if you rent from them so we can selfishly all reclaim our serenity when we need it by booking without the rental being sold out year-round. Promise?

Our Honemoon

My fiancée (at the time) and I were looking for a place to honeymoon after our late September wedding that would satisfy our love of the fall and the ocean at the same time. We happened on the Carriage House by chance and felt that we had found our honeymoon heaven. Well we were right! When we arrived we were met by the owners Paul and Julie who were simply wonderful and genuinely accommodating. The Carriage House was so very beautiful and comfortable that we felt special within its walls. The grounds are impeccably kept and gorgeous and anything we wanted to see was but minutes away. Most importantly on our honeymoon we were able to be alone when we wanted or be in the middle of the beauty that is Maine at our convenience. We were able to ride our bicycles everywhere we wanted to go in just minutes as well. We would recommend this vacation spot to any of our family or friends. To Paul and Julie We would like to thank you both from the bottom of our hearts for your huge role in the success of our honeymoon and it was an extreme pleasure to meet such a great couple who work very hard and love living life. A THOUSAND TIMES THANKS j&j

Why they chose this property

Arundel Farm has stunning grounds and feels like you're out in the country ... while being just minutes from the ocean and downtown Kennebunkport, Kennebunk and all the wonderful activities available. We are 1.5 miles from Dock Square. We also have an art gallery on premises with local and national artists. You can visit our gallery website to learn more and to see our schedule of events at Arundel Farm Gallery.

What makes this property unique

We can't say enough about the beautiful setting of our property. There is so much charm with the historic main house built in 1790, the new lovely Carriage House, the tiny historic Jelly House, Pond, Gazebo, and Far Barn all on 9 acres. It really seems like you've stepped back in time. Being on this property is so relaxing and we are so happy to share this special place with our guests.
