About this property
Cottage in the hills of the island, near Teror and many great hiking trails
(Already over 5 years on Airbnb) In the high-lying interior of the island of Gran Canaria, you will find “La Casa de Arriba". Built 300 years ago “The House on the Hill” is a traditional Canarian house lovingly restored with an enviable location overlooking the hamlet of Arbejales, near the well-known colonial town and tourist destination of Teror. The house is also equipped with Solar Panels :0)
"La Casa de Arriba" is built in an ancient Canarian style, it means every single room has got its entrance from the outside and is independent from the others. Two of the en-suite bedrooms are upstairs at the level of the balcony and the 3rd en suite bedroom and the kitchen access are on the ground terrace level.
* Access to the 3rd bedroom will require a minimum booking of 4 people.
The house is nestled in a tranquil landscape offering on one side a view of fertile valleys as far as the eye can see halted only by the ocean, and on the other, a rising tsunami of volcanic slopes with lush vegetation soaring towards the highest point of the island. La Casa de Arriba with its three comfortable en-suite rooms is fully equipped to meet the needs of all guests and welcomes you to simply relax & unwind or base yourselves here for more energetic activities.
My wife Nathalie and I (Lucien) have a passion for travelling and have spent several years looking for the ideal location to build our dream, a warm & welcoming place to share with other people who, like us, love new encounters and the beauty of nature. We arrived in Gran Canaria and immediately fell under the spell of the island and its inhabitants, and it was love at first site when we discovered ‘La Casa de Arriba’. We began what has been over a year of rebuilding, renovating and remodelling this house to make a home for ourselves and for visitors who want to discover the island. The en-suite rooms are beautifully designed, spacious and very comfortable. The communal space on the ground floor offers an open-plan, fully-equipped kitchen with basic necessities for cooking and making tea and coffee, a large kitchen table with chairs and a furnished living area with a comfy sofa and chairs. The beautiful outdoor area is cleverly designed to allow you to be alone with your thoughts or to socialise with your friends or family while enjoying the views.
