About this property

Private entrance/space. Peaceful getaway. Close to events.

You have a completely remodeled private space on the walk-out level of my home. Many windows looking out to the woods, flowers, and to watch birds and wildlife. Bright and positive space. Open floor plan, a carpeted bedroom area with queen bed, a full-size memory foam sleeper sofa, a living room, mini-kitchen, laundry and bathroom. The mini-kitchen includes a mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker, table and chairs. The desk, looking out at the woods, a perfect place to reflect, read, and write. The entire space is completely updated. Private entrance. This is in a quiet residential area of Dubuque. I live upstairs with my dog. Safe and secure.

Amenities include: 60" HDTV with Amazon Prime, Netflix, and many DVDs. I provide shampoo, conditioner, soaps, makeup remover. Hair dryer and curler. I have toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning products, washer and dryer supplies. Bedding, blankets, pillows, and hangers. Ironing board and iron. Board games and books.
Mini-kitchen: Mini fridge, microwave, glasses, plates, bowls, utensils, coffee, a few food items, and snacks.

Guests will have private access to the lower level of my home only. It has a private entrance around back. Free parking right in front of my home, on my side of the street, facing in the right direction. Go around the block instead of using neighbors' driveways to turn around (Iowa law). Walk up the driveway and down the steps.

My space would work well for a visiting nurse, an adjunct professor or business person who needs a place a couple evenings a week. Or, if you are just passing through, it is a nice space to relax before taking off on the next leg of your journey.

I would entertain a conversation about long-term stays depending on length. Nightly and cleaning fees are negotiable for long-term stays.

I do not allow pets without prior approval before booking. Please send an inquiry for a discussion and approval. Things to discuss: pets are not to be left attended, barking, damage. If approved, there is a $25.00 non-refundable pet fee per stay that will be added to your total.

Overnite stay

I came into town for a fundraiser so I just spent the night. The VRBO is in a quiet neighborhood with woods right outside the door you use to get into the apartment. It was just perfect for one person and was very clean. I would recommend this to anyone.

Home for the Holiday

Our stay was quaint and quiet the moment we walked in. So many amenities were offered which made our comfort even more amazing. The view out the huge picture window was serene and full of nature. Vrbo's are the way to go from here on out!

Peace and quiet

Quaint and I felt need to be quiet, good for me, and yes it was a comfy soft bed. Lovely view of trees, flowers birds. Bug sprays provided to sit outside was a nice touch. Suggest bring specialty ground coffee if you dislike Folgers. Small fridge and microwave but no toaster Fyi. Thanks Angie.

I grew up in this area so I am familiar with many cultural and fine arts events, tourist destinations, hiking, biking, and dining choices. I can recommend! After staying in alternative spaces myself, I decided to offer the same experience for other travelers. I enjoy gardening and many other activities.

Why they chose this property

You will have a private, peaceful space with a wooded back yard. The neighborhood is safe and secure.

What makes this property unique

My property has city amenities with a country, woodland experience. Sit out back on the patio with a beverage and watch the birds, squirrels, chipmunks, and birds. Deer, fox, turkey, and coyote also make an appearance on occasion. Flowers everywhere in season. It is quiet and relaxing. A getaway. In 10 minutes you can be at the Heritage trailhead, downtown for a play, or to the National River Museum.
