About this property

Mountain Getaway - Tamarack Ranch Home

Enjoy a peaceful stay in a rural setting. It is a working ranch with cows in the pasture and many farm-use outbuildings. You’ll experience surroundings full of nature and fresh mountain air. Get a taste of Montana life that you’ll want to come back to over and over again.
Nestled on the west side of the Bitterroot Valley, this property sits on over 50 acres of breathtaking views. Day hikes can be found just a few minutes away at Mill Creek Trailhead or Blodgett Creek Trail. You’ll have the advantage of seclusion, with amenities nearby. Hamilton is a historic “Hallmark-like” town just a short 15 mins down the road if needed. It’s filled with quaint shops, unique eateries and sporting goods stores to tend to your adventures.
We hope you'll find your stay at Tamarack Ranch to be a pleasant one. You can enjoy the sun set each evening on the deck and watch for birds and wildlife. The summertime offers seasonal active creeks throughout the property as well as a small pond that attract ducks and geese. There may be cows off in the pasture, so please be mindful of the animals and any gates you enter through if you choose to explore the acreage! We do have someone come by to tend to the cows daily, but their visits are short, ranch area related and should not be a disturbance to your stay. Additionally, we also offer a fire pit outdoors during spring and summer months, depending on burn restrictions.

Our home can comfortably sleep 6 adults, with a maximum guest capacity of 8. (Additional guest charges apply for guests after the standard 6 and will show on the reservation quote). The home itself is equipped with 4 bedrooms. Primary bedroom with king bed is located on main floor. Second bedroom is located on main floor and includes two twin beds (one is a rollout trundle). Second bedroom also includes a desk for work space and could double as additional clothing storage if needed. Third and fourth bedrooms are located on the lower (daylight walkout basement) level with each boasting a queen bed, dresser and walk in closet. All bedrooms are equipped with ceiling fans, soothing sound machines, and portable window fans (located in each closet). Although the home is NOT equipped with central AC, we do have three roll away portable AC units that can easily be installed in the upstairs level bedrooms or living room upon request prior to your arrival during the summer months.

The lovely kitchen has a cozy farmhouse vibe, with beautiful granite countertops and ample cooking space. The connected dining area has a gorgeous view of the mountains and has seating for up to 8.

The large main floor living room makes for a wonderful spot to gather around for a movie or conversation. The downstairs den offers a cozy retreat to read a book or watch TV.

Additionally, we do have a couple hall closets and one additional small room (not included with the listing) that will be locked during your stay. These contain our personal effects as we still visit our home often.

You are invited to explore the property, but please do not enter any exterior outbuildings. Any gates that are opened, please close immediately behind you. Exploring any of the property beyond gates and fencing around the home is at your own risk. Our property is a wonderful place for families, that allows kids to experience the great outdoors. Please be sure that children do have adult supervision at all times. We do offer a clip on high chair, kids plates, cups and silverware. Additionally we have a baby gate for the indoor stairwell and a pack n play.

Please note there are cameras positioned around the exterior of the property at exterior entryways and on several outbuildings for added security and for liability purposes. They are obvious and in plain sight.

Please feel free to message with any questions and we will be happy to answer! We'd love for you to enjoy a little slice of what we cherish at this property! Clean and Comfy

We stayed at this property for 4 nights and enjoyed every minute of our stay. The property owners were very responsive, the house was very clean and cozy and had pretty much everything we needed. I appreciated that they had stuff for young kids, such as a baby gate and kid cups, plates, etc. eve

Absolutely Perfect

I've been staying in VRBO's at least every other month, 6 times a year or more for the past 12-15 years and let me tell you, overall this home is the best I've had the opportunity to stay in. The hosts communication and kindness was well above expectations. The home was clean and very well stocked. The property was beautiful, quite and everything we were looking for in a peaceful vacation. Grocery stores and restaurants were around 10 minutes away and the Missoula airport around an hour away. I would definitely stay here again!

A Real Montana Ranch

We loved staying at this beautiful, Montana ranch. The location was out enough to be able to enjoy the wildlife and mountain views, but close enough in to enjoy the town of Hamilton. The home is beautifully appointed (just like the pictures), and was immaculate. The kitchen was well stocked with the necessary cookware and the linens and furnishings were first class. We were all VERY comfortable whether upstairs or down. My husband and I walked this beautiful property, and thoroughly enjoyed the scenery and solitude. If I could give Robyn a 10 for communication, I would. All inquiries were answered immediately. She was extremely helpful with local information from recommending a fishing guide to a shuttle service back to the airport. We would definitely recommend and return!

Could Not Have Been Any Better!

Absolutely loved this property and very impressed with the owners. The home is beautifully decorated, very warm and inviting, and well equipped. Back porch offers wonderful views of the mountains as well as the surrounding farm land. The farm itself is fun as there are cows, multiple buildings including a really unique old barn. Location is convenient to town, yet far enough away to be in the country. Highly, highly recommend this property and look forward to returning next year!
