Relaxing weekend get away.

Came to hike the Red River Gorge. Cabin conveniently located. Driveway was steep but well kept. Neighborhood was peaceful. Cabin was clean and basics were stocked. Both bedrooms are lofted, so be ok to climb a ladder. Hot tub was great and nice to have adter that long hike.

Beautiful Cabin!

This cabin is a real gem, and what a great location! We enjoyed the property very much. My daughter, her friend and I were in the Gorge for hiking, so the location was perfect. The kitchen had everything we needed and we used the grill and firepit, as well.

Quiet simplicity

Muir Retreat was is a great getaway for a couple or small family. Deck swing and hot tub were great after a days hike. Water pressure was great. We spend 4 nights and the refrig was the right size freezer provided needed ice. Steep gravel hill could use steps at least to deck. Getting firewood to the fire pit was a challenge. Would stay again.

Anniversary getaway

My partner and I had a great stay. We were so close to everything but still surrounded by beautiful nature. We spent our time playing board games on the great porch and in the hot tub. Thank you!

Went to Muir’s Cabin to celebrate my 40th birthday! It was clean, cozy, secluded enough, and relaxing. Only 2 minor issues were the fan in the loft was not working, but AC unit was good enough that it wasn’t too bad AND the 500 piece puzzle ended up being a 499 piece puzzle! Other than that would totally recommend and would love to go back again!

Cute little cabin!

My girlfriend and I had an EXCELLENT stay here. The location gives the perfect amount of privacy. However, make sure you're not taking a car to this location, because I'm not sure if we would've made it if we weren't in my truck. Also, please be aware that the stairs to the lofts with the beds are not pet friendly, so if your fur-babies plan on sleeping with you, you might want to look into other options. The stairs that lead to the beds are steep and could be an issue for some older or less able bodied guests. All in all, we had a wonderful stay!

The Girls Getaway

The accommodations were as described, and the setting was ideal for our time spent. Navigating the walkway down was manageable, but not ideal with luggage and food items, We appreciated all the attention to detail on the interior and especially enjoyed the hot tub in the evenings. Thank-you

Very nice stay

Overall, my son and I were very happy with our stay. A few things to realize are: you have to climb ladders to get to the loft bedrooms, the only bathroom is on the main floor (so if you have to get up in the middle of the night you have to negotiate the ladder), there is only a tiny refrigerator (think dorm room size), and there is no stove (but there are a couple of electric hot plate type cooking surfaces). None of those things were a detractor for us except maybe the tiny fridge. I would suggest to the owner that they put some steps from the parking to the front porch/deck area. I don’t mind the steepness of the incline but with the small gravel it was very easy to slide and almost fall. The biggest plus to me was the environment. Even though there were other cabins in the area, you couldn’t see them. You might hear people, but if you couldn’t, you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. It was beautiful! We took our dogs and they had a lot of fun playing in the woods around the area and walking around with me looking at the other beautiful cabins. It really was ideal even though there are still unfinished areas from construction. I felt like the description of the cabin mostly prepared me for the terrain. Overall, the cabin and the setting were beautiful and I would highly recommend it. Just realize what you’re getting and what you’re not and whether those things are important to you. We would stay there again.
