Your family will say WOW! when they stay at "On The Beach", a beautiful semi-oceanfront home with all the OBX trimmings! Relax in the upper deck hot tub with an incredible ocean view. See and hear the surf, feel the breeze and watch the sunrise over the ocean with your coffee from the kitchen, living room or either of the two front decks.

Five large bedrooms will comfortably hold the biggest families or groups, and there is driveway parking for eight cars. The living room couches and chairs are comfortable, and upgraded marble kitchen counters and freshly painted cabinets sparkle. A cargo lift eases the transfer of bags and groceries to all floors.

It's only a short walk to the beach access (lifeguarded during the in season) or you can swim in your backyard private pool (10 x 20). The top-floor living room has a big, flat-screen HDTV with DISH and a Blu-ray player and is stocked with current videos, board games and a lending library of paperback books. Everyone will enjoy the mid-floor rec room with its own view of the ocean and flat-screen HDTV, PlayStation 3 and pool table.

"On The Beach" is located only minutes from golf, movies, shopping and right next door to the good food, wonderful island atmosphere and live music of the Rundown Café restaurant. Owners continue to improve an already fantastic vacation home. At Milepost 1 in Kitty Hawk, it's the first vacation house on the Beach Road!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great house although living area was somewhat small for 10 people. The pool was great for small children and a quick dip to cool off for adults. The walk to the beach access was not bad at all, maybe 5 min.Housekeeping could have been a little better, beds looked like sheets and bedspreads were thrown on but beds themselves very comfy. House could use a few updates. Laundry room outside is somewhat of a inconvenience and carport was in need of cleaning. Blown off or washed down. Overall great location and views were awesome!

Great location/wonderful time

What a great time we had! The house was a perfect location! Had everything within walking or driving distance. The beach access is just down the street to the crosswalk. Not far at all. Rundown cafe is right next door. We have been there before and we love that restaurant! Beautiful views from the deck as described. The company is extremely responsive and takes great care of your needs! plenary of beach chairs provided!! Remember to bring extra TP, hand soap, paper towels and dish soap. :) Thanks for a great stay!

Nice property but not as clean as we would have liked

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We found this place to have a great layout for our family's needs. The two master suites on the top floor were perfect for the 2 sets of grandparents and the middle floor was great for my son's family. Except for the fact that there was no dead bolt on the door leading to the middle deck. Our 4 year old grandson could open that door and go out whenever he wanted to. We ended up moving the couch in the pool table room in front of the door to keep our little ones safer. Better child locks would be nice in a house that advertises good for kids with highchair, gates etc. The title On the Beach was a little misleading since there were another row of houses between us and the beach, although overall we were pleased with the close proximity to the beach and beach access. However, the living room furniture was very uncomfortable. Needs to be updated. Sat very low and was very saggy. The kitchen cabinets were terribly dirty. We ended up taking all of the dishes out of the top ones, washing them all and cleaning the inside of the cupboards. I found leftover food and dirty dishes. The floors could have been cleaner also, but I do understand it's difficult at the beach, not to have sand in the house. The pool was small for the number of guests the house could hold. Needing to go outside across the driveway to do laundry was also a negative. The stairway down to the driveway was very dark at the bottom and difficult to see. Plus it had a terrible musty smell. However the pool man that came to service on our check in day was awesome. He emptied the hot tub and provided us with fresh water in their which was super nice. Overall nice place and location but could use a little maintenance.

Short walk to beach access, although it's along the beach road with no sidewalks, so not a safe walk. Nice pool area. Need to walk outside to get to the laundry room. Ceiling fans in first floor bedrooms are very noisy. Several bathrooms were not cleaned upon arrival. Only one refrigerator, so if you stock a lot of drinks, there is limited space. Overall, a nice house to rent, but could use a lot of upgrades and maintenance.

However, that was not the case. walking distance to restaurants and shops.

However one of the bedrooms upper master was covered in dog hair prior to our arrival. There was some sheets laying on the ground in the same upper master. The window shades weren’t darkening so everyone was up around 6 am due to the sunrise. Overall the house and stay was beautiful. Ample parking .

The only negative this year was the remodel/construction that was being done on the home next door. Lots of noise from hammering, sawing etc. for several days while we were there. Other than that we had beautiful weather all week! Would definitely stay here again. Everything you could need is in this home! Only suggestions for this home is if the keyless entry was on the lower level door under the home and to replace the missing blinds on the entry level door where the keyless entry is located.

Great house

Only thing that can make it better is a screened in covered area over the hot tub to the house up too to keep the mosquitoes out on rainy days and evenings after it rained and there's no wind and also a gate at the top of the steps on the front steps since it's a pet friendly house.

Lots of dishes and dinnerware. Bedrooms are great size! Pool and hottub were perfect (hot tub did leak underneath to the bottom deck so don't plan on hanging out or leaving anything under it!) Wear your shoes to the pool, the gravel is brutal on the bare feet! Lots of bathrooms. Great washer/dryer units. Great location! Was concerned about restaurant being right next door; but it was a blessing. Amazing food and service. Great music to enjoy while on the deck! Wasn't chaotic or inconvenient at all. Overall would recommend this property!

We enjoyed our stay at this home, the music from the bar next door was a nice addition and not at all too loud, and ended at 9 each night and could only be heard outside the house, not inside. Everything was exactly as advertised and overall we have no complaints,but prefer Nags Head, so we will check there for homes in the future. Fanily Vacation

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We appreciate the opportunity to stay at: On the Beach 65. Our experience there with family was wonderful. We enjoyed the pool( we didn't choose to get it heated but we still had fun after we got use to it) and hot tub. A few things not too good was the broken wood chairs on the top deck with exposed rusty nails. When we arrived we noticed two garbage cans full of trash that were not taken out in time. ( we looked around and saw all other cans in the area were out on the street but empty. Key to laundry room was no where to be found so by Monday someone came out with one and also someone came out to help with WIFI. Wasn't taking the number we all put in correctly. Already spoke with someone about rusted outside doorknob to bedroom and the broken blinds in the same bedroom. Three different guest saw roaches. They said they were not water bugs but roaches. The house had everything we needed. ( was stocked well ) My mom broke a plastic serving plate so we bought two in different sizes and kept them there. Some things I understand are hard to keep up with because so many people rent the houses but some need to be fixed right away because of someone getting hurt. It was a nice experience overall with having family all together. A lot of laughter in that house. Thank you

No dustpan when we arrived, huge water stain(still wet) in upstairs bedroom entrance, lights out at pool, loose door handles, unclean, no pans in the kitchen that could cook more than one egg, tiny swimming pool, carpets dirty
