About this property

Quiet Retreat overlooking Flathead Lake and cherry orchard

Enjoy peace and quiet overlooking Flathead Lake and Henry Creek Orchard. Located 11 miles south of Bigfork, this beautiful property is within close proximity to all your outdoor adventures including Glacier National Park, Jewel Basin Hiking Area, Whitefish Mountain Resort and so much more.

The Space:

Our newly restored home includes all new appliances, carpet, and refinished wood floors. Numerous windows allow for great views from nearly every room, lots of natural light, open breeze, and songs of the vast variety of birds to enchant your senses.

Master bedroom has king bed with new memory foam mattress, in-suite master bathroom and Roku TV. The 2 upstairs bedrooms share a large loft area with views of the lake and surrounding orchard property. Here, you’ll find two Twin XL beds (long enough for adults) with new memory foam mattresses and a full-size day bed with very comfortable plush pillow top mattress. Each room as a variety of new, comfortable pillows to choose from and extra blankets. NOTE: The upstairs bedrooms are an open concept for more light and airflow, so please consider this if extra privacy is required.

Our kitchen is fully equipped with anything you should need, including drip coffee pot, instant hot water pot, toaster, ice maker, and basic items to get you started like salt and pepper, cooking oil, and a few coffee filters. The drinking water from our well is excellent, and tested twice a year. The outdoor patio is where you may find yourself dining and cooking most often using the bbq.
Over-sized living area has comfortable couches and 55” Roku TV. This is the place to take in views and play games with your family, or cozy up next to the gas fireplace during a cold winter’s night. A variety of books, maps, games, puzzles, guide books, cornhole boards, frisbees, and a mini foosball table are provided for guests.

The basement is available for guest to use washer and dryer, and a great place for wet or muddy boots, skis, or lake gear.

Other provided items include free wifi, hair dryer, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, and welcome basket with a few small snacks and coffee

The Property:

Sitting on a few beautiful acres, guests are welcome to explore the grounds outside of the fenced orchard to take in expanded views, listen to the vast variety of birds, and possibly catch a glimpse of other wildlife. Watching the sun set over Flathead Lake from the Aspen grove is a must for everyone! The orchard itself is inaccessible due to required fruit fly sprays and electric fence to keep the wildlife from causing excessive damage to the fruit trees. There is plenty of room to park your boat and play a variety of provided outdoor games.

Nearby Adventure:

Yellow Bay State Park is the closest public access to Flathead Lake 3 mile to the south with a boat launch, dock and pebble beach swimming area. Beardance Picnic area and trailhead are 4 miles to the north. Expanding past this to the North, the outdoor options are endless with Glacier National Park, Whitefish Mountain Resort, the Bob Marshall Wilderness, Jewel Basin Hiking Area, and the list goes on!

About the host

I have spent my entire life in NW Montana, and still find new outdoor adventures every year. From hiking and fishing to snow sports and everything else outside, this area has everything I love. If you have questions about the area or need recommendations, I truly enjoy helping guests and sharing my favorite hiking trails.

Why they chose this property

The low key east shore of Flathead Lake is beautiful and quiet! If you are lucky enough to time the cherry harvest correctly, you can experience the busiest and tastiest couple weeks of the year. This generally falls in late July to early August, but varies each year. Our sweet cherries (Lapin) are usually harvested in a 2 day window.

What makes this property unique

Our house and property have very few visible neighbors and back up to thousands of acres of USFS land. Aside from owners and other staff periodically working on the land and orchard, you have the property to yourselves. The dense forest outside of the fence portion of the property has abundant wildlife including numerous bird species, deer, elk, black and grizzly bear. You may get lucky and catch a glimpse of the large game, but they tend to pass through in the dark and stick to the forest.
