The cottage is unique in almost every way. Great Wi-Fi and Internet service, quiet, beautiful property, very friendly hosts, and makes you hate having to leave and come back home. This is my fourth or fifth stay and I am planning and looking forward to my next stay in about 2 months.
Properties and cabin is warm and welcoming. Owners are exceptional people who love being able to provide a great place for a short get away to enjoy the upstate of South Carolina.
Property is totally private and beautifully decorated. Every thing you need is provided. If you want some downtime with beautiful Mountain views, this is the place. We saw waterfalls and went to nearby Highlands. We will return again!
Wonderful place to get away from it all! Really had a great time doing a lot of not much at all:) well appointed cabin in a natural setting. Loved everything about it and the location is perfect for whatever you want or need including dining out or getting into the woods and getting away from it all. Will be back !
Property and owners are great. Cottage is very unique and original. Layout of the farm is great and very peaceful. Cottage is close to main house, but the back porch, patio and fireplace are mostly secluded.
My wife and I had a great time! The cottage was so nice with a lot of interesting touches. Beautiful view from the deck and fire pit. Everything was provided for a wonderful time.
First off, the communication with the owners was fantastic and they were so sweet to have a fire already lit for us when we arrived late at night and some muffins for breakfast.
The cottage is beautifully done and we would definitely come back if we ever get back this way. 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking to get a peaceful hideaway in the area.
Our expectations were highthis time around base on our first visit to Coltsfoot Cottage, this time Jennifer, Patrick, Foxy, and Hank totally set the bar at its highest for all other VRBO hosts! WOW! The peace and tranquility here is found nowhere else for us. We will be a guest for life! You will not regret staying here!
My wife and I enjoyed the quiet, peaceful outdoors surrounding this cozy cottage. The hosts are genuine friendly and welcoming. The cottage is warm and perfect for a couple. Enjoy the quiet and colorful sunsets! We will be back.
Property is beautiful and cottage is very authentic and unique. It is a must stay if you want to recoup after a busy week or just need to get away. Owners are wonderful, I was able to meet both. There friendly pets will make you fall in love with each one of them. Cottage has a fence and gate around it so if you want to not allow the dogs in you can. I highly recommend a stay here.

My Fiancé and I were traveling from Hilton Head SC to celebrate his birthday and also go on a rafting trip! Before we got to the cottage I already felt comfortable with the owners Jennifer and Patrick. The cottage was breathtakingly gorgeous and pictures online don’t do it enough justice! From the fresh mountain air to the views, we just couldn’t get enough. We had an amazing time and the cottage felt so homey. Thank y’all again. We will and have already recommended this cottage to others. 10/10!
Our stay at Coltsfoot Cottage exceeded our expectations. The cottage is very clean, comfortable, and inviting. The bed is comfy and the outdoor area is exceptional. There are rocking chairs on the covered porch, bar seating for dinner, a hammock and a cafe table near the fire pit…all with peaceful views of the mountains. We spent our evenings viewing the sunset and the star-studded sky scape. Plus Hank (the sweetest pup ever), Foxy, and Jack the cat will come visit. Jennifer and Patrick have created a beautiful homesite. Though the cottage is near their house, it still feels very private. They are wonderful hosts and we highly recommend this property.
What a relaxing, refreshing & beautifully curated little plot of space to pull away from the world!!! The hosts have put such great attention to detail into every little nook & cranny that you will consistently find yourself thinking “Wow, what a smart use of space & intentionality!” Some of my personal faves were the eclectic farm & natural decor, glorious views from both tubs (!), rocking under the porch fans in a well-timed thunderstorm, a well-appointed kitchen with some extra surprises & visits from the friendliest little watchful pup! Great, generous communication with the hosts & a seamlessly easy check-in/check-out make this an A++! Throw your clothes in a bag & go…you will need nothing else. I can only imagine what the cottage is like in the Fall & Winter, and hope to make this gem a repeat!
Had a wonderful 5 days watching leaves change and checking out the area. Views from the cabin are wonderful. Owners were responsive and very cordial. Their pets were one of the best parts of the trip greeting us in the morning and checking on us at night (you can lock them out of the area if you want but we loved them)! The cabin is modern but rustic with modern amenities and has what you need for a few day stay but suggest you bring food as the closest market is a half hour drive. This is a beautiful rural area. Decorations for the cabin represent the owners love of animals and the area. There is no stove but the gas griddle, microwave, toaster oven and small fridge suffice. The road to the cabin is rustic and may be a challenge for some. All in all we had a wonderful stay and would stay again. One of our best vacations and we are seniors! Thank you Jennifer, Patrick and your sweet critters!
We absolutely loved our stay and can’t wait to visit again! Lots of little extras to make our stay comfortable. The s’mores were a lovely touch that was very much appreciated. LOVED the outdoor shower and fireplace and the bed was super comfy! Bonus feature… Hank and Foxy (dogs) visiting us every day. We also really enjoyed star gazing every evening in the hammock. There is no stove/oven - only a grill, toaster oven, and pizza oven. We had no issue with this (grilled out each night and it was amazing!) and the cast iron pans could easily be used on the grill in place of a stove top. We didn’t have any troubles with the drive either. The gravel driveway seemed pretty standard for a mountain house to me. Only issue that we ran into was that the driveway was hidden at first but the owners were SUPER responsive and we found it pretty quickly after talking to them. 100% recommend this stay and I can’t wait to visit again. THANK YOU!!
My husband and I stayed here for our 17th wedding anniversary. The cottage was absolutely perfect and beautiful, and the owners were very prompt in communication and made sure we had everything we needed. Although the cottage is close to the main house, we had all the privacy we could ask for because of the way the cottage is positioned on the property. There were delicious muffins, apples, popcorn, and s’mores kits ready for us which was such a nice touch. We saw deer daily very close by which were a joy to watch. The owner had precious dogs that popped in to visit from time to time, and they have horses on the property. The decoration in the cottage is impeccable and it’s so clean and cozy. We spent our time reading and relaxing on the gorgeous porch, drinking wine and talking by the fire, playing board games, watching the most beautiful sunsets over the mountain, and relaxing in the outdoor bath / shower. This is a little slice of heaven, and we will definitely be back!
